AwhhDD puts my crappy day into perspective !
Work is pants , DD 2 is absolutely miserable at school due to bullying cows, her sadness makes my heart break. Got an email from another school to say they currently have a waiting list ! OH has an important hospital appointment tomorrow ..... Mix it all together and broke down in a pathetic heap at work!! Manager was nice enough! Lots of changes happening not getting the promotion I had hoped for( feel very let down by that) and add a few hormones into the mix for good measure.
Mince pie and veggies for tea to look forward to and MasterChef later and I'm reading a good book ... That's as pleasant as it gets !
Have a lovely Tuesday .... And have a central heated hug DD0 -
DundeeDoll! I also hope things can be as amicable as they can.
Thanks for more kind welcomes and Skint - OH feeling the womb baby kicks makes me smile more than anything at the moment. Lovely moments for them.
Yesterdays:
1 - Making a, quite frankly, rocking summery vegetable soup out of odds and ends languishing in the fridge,
2 - Completing my first 'Flylady' day and feeling mightily smug about it,
3 - In a world of extortionate train fare, grateful that my NSE card means I can still get in to London for a more reasonable price,
4 - (The true highlight!) Gifted ticket to see Neil Young at the O2 last night. A.MAZE.ING.
5 - The first time someone has volunteered their seat on the tube for me. Thank you kind lady, whoever you are

Bless you DD
, pleased you can share such a personal decision with us. Not pleased things have turned out this way but good that you know we're always here to offer support and you can share anything, any time.
mhags sometimes we paddle like crazy under the water while seeming to glide serenely over the surface. You've so much to manage every day, I think you're truly amazing and so strong for all the family that you're absolutely entitled to have a good cry whenever you feel like it.
BoP everything x'd for the result you're hoping for.
Mcculloch you must be feeling so warm inside. I know I was when I read your post!
Dodgy :grouphug: to everyone this morning x0 -
DD - (((Hugs))) please be kind to yourself
Mhagster - (((hugs))) as well, with everything you are dealing with tears are allowed and sometimes good for us. Hope everything goes well for OH today and those horrible little witches get over themselves soon.0 -
Having just spoken at length with NZ Aberdonian Aunt - Uncle progresses well - I come here to find too many cruel upsets and trip-ups among the pleasures.
dd- I am deeply sorry. You have worked so hard at your marriage and what you have together, those wonderful children, are fine and ever-present evidence of this. I know this next stage of Life must find its shape in its own time. Healing thoughts in these early numbing days. Your acceptance of the situation is proof of great courage. We are here.
mhags - a bit like kittikins when house purchase first slipped up, then came good, so will work+Mgr situ for you. re: dd-I thought the bullying had been firmly taken in hand at school. The fact that jealousy's prob a major factor is so hard to believe at that age and use as armour. Is it time to approach school again? Given all else you have on your plate, I know...
All hopes headed your way for OH appt tomorrow.
lfs - loved that rant. EXCELLENT, and it's already made an OS pleasure for me. And no, it's NOT you :-)
frith - hope your symptons ease. Finished my antibiotics, but sinusitis still rules. driving me mad. This is on today - all true: Really liked your no. 4.

tealady - just so long as they're your gorgeous IC shoes....saw such a pretty duck egg blue pair+matching bag in their window last week, with line of little milky-white bird figurines stitched flying all round the opening.
sparrer - decision made? If it's campervan, I googled something like ' VW van enthusiasts club uk' and loads of poss useful links came up. There are so often useful Enthusiast Chaps who love helping ladies out when Things Go Wrong...
If anyone wants - another Nature Note from last night. Again saying farewell to day, out kitchen window, with milky coffee and 1st wedge of crumble - with which I'd made custard and it IS scrummy - and suddenly saw movement. Easy this time, a rather larger lop-eared brown bunny finding plenty to silflay[excellent Watership Down word for evening graze]. Watched it move across the grass, dainty picks of daisy heads in between. Took kitchen towel, silently moved out to porch, to begin stealthy track/capture/return nextdoor. BUT...instead I'd been seeing a very large, roly-poly hedgehog with such a thick fur ruff skirting the prickles, it looked like bunny fur and ears. I've never seen a hedghog like this before. I could say she 'looked' up, but it will have been the scent of me she caught, before carrying on to fossick for bits of sausage the jackdaws missed earlier.
Washing to put out, gatespring to buy and fit, garden to garden, Spitalfields to start sorting for, neighbour's bro. spoken with and go-ahead for storage of STUFF while D!pendance goes up a step nearer, ditto his man for timber calcs for same...etc.etc.etc.
SUN - bop has switched it on early. That job is therefore yours. Continuing good wishes for same.
All the goodwill and hoping and wishes and hugs and prayers currently exercised here means ALL are in finest fettle. All who need, help yourselves.

Skint - hope you had some of your own too...
Was feeling sorry for myself yesterdayso I enjoyed reading everyone elses pleasures
Heres a few I thought of for yesterday:
1. lousy sleep.... but a non working day :j
2. had to get up and take DS to work... but at least I could get back into bed for another hour when I got home :j
3. drove back to DS work with a new shirt as he managed to rip the one he had on in the morning... the pleasure is that his work have now decided to supply logo'd polo shirts. (This is a bit annoying as we have just kitted him out with new shirts and ties 2 weeks ago, but at least he wont have to buy any more.) ....and hopefully DS wont moan so much about having to iron them himself (I've refused to do his ironing since he was 18 last week)
4. DS has fixed his puncture and so he went to martial arts class on his bike last night, saving me petrol money
5 ..... not having to take DS to martial arts as am quite sore after physio. Started new meds yesterday now on pregabalin so will see what happens now... physio said if still no improvement in 2 weeks she will refer me to spinal specialist
Pleasures for today:
1. DS went to work on his bike this morning meaning I could have another half an hour in bed before getting ready for work
2. work went quickly
3. no traffic on way home
4. being asked by friend to help her do a CV. Am pleased she has faith in me to help her and she's bringing wine with her
5. am lounging on the sofa ... lots of housework to do but CBA !!0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Evening all.
On a day with many genuine sadnesses, illnesses and problems I feel a little guilty that I've spent the day feeling rather miserable for no very good reason: when I got dressed this morning I found black cat fur on my top and it left me feeling rather sad, although surely I should be used to being catless by now?
Oh well,
1) My blackcurrant sage has a couple of flowers on it, and many more buds that I hadn't noticed until now.
2) Did a rare bit of retail therapy and found a very nice glitch on the M&S website.
3) Had a chat with the manager of my trusty local garage about a problem I'm having with my car, and he thinks he knows what the problem is - apparently it's common with VWs and is "fiddly but fixable". I can live with that, particularly when the alternative is returning it to the place that I bought it, having reported them to trading standards in the meantime.
4) Saw a lady driving along with a large olive tree in the passenger seat of her convertible, and we exchanged grins at the sight.
5) My tomato plants all have flower buds on them - I just wish the plants would get a bit bigger so I can plant them out.
Hugs to all in need, particularly DundeeDoll and mhagster's DD - I had a miserable time at school myself due to incessant bullying, so she has my heartfelt sympathy.Back after a very long break!0 -
lfs if it was a VW I wouldn't have had the dilemma, it would be standing outside my house right now
. Unfortunately it was a Suzuki Super Carry camper. As CCP said, if I had anyone who knew about these things it would have made life so much easier. I would have to spend all my savings on it and be left with nothing if it went wrong, so although it was heart v head as VJsmum said, head won. Thank you all for your input, ampersand the remainder of the warranty was a great pull, so common sense prevailed. Dammit, doncha just hate having to be sensible sometimes? I just have to remember that you have to have a dream so I'll go on dreaming until my numbers come up...
(((Hugs))) CCP do we ever get used to it? It's a perfectly valid reason for feeling down and no reason to feel guilty at all
1. Picked up my shiny black 'new' car, now I'm having fun learning to operate a car with elec windows, elec mirrors, remote key, ac (won't be using that too often as I'm not really keen), all the gizmos and gadgets modern cars have.
2. Sadly had to say goodbye to Kefi but relieved to hear that rather than just being scrapped she's going to be a donor for other cars. Thank you car salesman, what a nice way of putting it
3. Met with DD and DGD to go shopping, had a cream tea for lunch in Sainsbugs first
4. Now really having to pull my belt in after this morning's expense, DD has loaned me a very pretty dress for DS's graduation ceremony next month, and I have shoes/bag to match already. Just need a chiffony-type wrap which I'll make, then outfit complete
5. Been a lovely sunny day, and now it's raining so I don't have to water the garden.
Enjoy the evening0 -
1. Good day at work
2. The sun came out - eventually!
3. Rainbows was fun, despite one Rainbow's attempts to rain on any parade she could......roll on Brownies for that one!
4. Cuddles with DD, who sneakily crept into my bed in the middle of the night....
5. I'm reading a really interesting book
6. Toast for tea, nomnom, because....
7. Free lunch at work, delish sandwiches and cakes! (Should have resisted the cakes, but oh well...)
8. Took a leftover piece of flapjack for DD's after school snack.
9. Nice chat to mummy friends at DD's dance lesson, they're hopefully coming to our leaving party
10. Trying to arrange dinner with some other chums.
11. Sent back my tax credits renewal, now to await the eagerly-expected lump sum for last year where they incorrectly told me I wasn't eligible! Not sure how much it'll be, but hopefully enough to pay the mortgage for a month....
12. I've been invited to a 'social' with other people who help out with our church teams, should be lovely and a nice way to say goodbye to a few more people who I don't know well enough to invite to our party but will miss serving with.0 -
CCP -(((hugs))) I know how attached I am to my cat hairs everywhere and my kitties are like wayward children! We lost our eldest kitty last year, turnip, and now there's no pure white fluff and dribble on my bed.

We even named the strays! Henry, Chrystal, Eva, Ugly and Fluffy:D
1. 6 sage plants rooted and potted
2. Mommys moonflower seeds have all germinated and are ready to plant ..super:D
3. Hand painted a sign and my mate asked 'who did that for you it looks really good'
4. six more super long rows of hoe hoe hoeing...6 to go:) then I can start all over again...pesky weeds!
5. Different DPD man found the right house and delivered parcel:D now DD can have car fixed by OH on sat:)2013 NSD 100. CC2014CC- £31.50/£1352014 NSD 86 so far - May 20/212014 G/C spend £741.55 so far May £107.99/£91Debt Free - 30.05.13 Emergency tin - £1000June 23 - 9NSD0
