Hello Froogal, yum, beans on toast, DD and I had that for lunch yesterday - deelish! :)

Missmoneysave - oops to the puddle! So glad you're happy in your new home :)

    Yesterday....

    1. NSD - and today looks promising too.

    2. DD and I went for a mooch about the village, posting letters, dropping in to friends etc. Lovely.

    3. Our leaving party is organised and the replies are trickling in :)

    4. Went to a brilliant BBQ bonfire party at our friend's house - they have a huge field, lots of friends from church there, band playing, chilling out, DD playing with her chums in the woods on a little zip wire. Bliss!

But I did feel a bit distant from everyone and am still very sad that I'm selling the house and moving away, despite being ultra excited about going back to Uni and of course I'm having to talk about it a lot to every man and his dog. I still feel out of sorts this morning and DD's very tired as it was an extremely late night for her, so we're mooching and hopefully going for another stroll this afternoon to try and blow away the cobwebs.

    5. Saw on FB that a friend in NY is in lurve, so we had a bit of an online natter and I'm so happy for her! Apparently I will get an invite to the wedding, lol.

    6. Had a lovely email from another American friend I've not heard from in a while. We used to work together and I miss her a lot, she was always a good giggle!

    Morning all

Oh Cripes, Sparrer. Head v heart. I guess it depends whether you really can afford to repair or replace. I always said I'd think about a small camper if i found myself alone in years to come.
BoP - with all that "greensleeves" playing, your craving for ice cream must be overwhelming. :p
Q "why are pirates called pirates"
    A "cos they Arrggghhh"
    :rotfl:

    Welcome Froogal
Hugs DD, nothing is ever straightforward is it.
    Frith - lovin the artwork
    Welcome home, MMS

    Yesterday's pleasures

    1. Lunch out with MiL and OH in posh farm shop - had a selection of "deli bites" t'was yum
    2. Hair done - not very MSE but it needed doing
    3. Lazy morning and bacon sandwiches
    4. DS won a trophy at his footie presentation :T "most improved player"
    5. One of the managers / trainers particularly single DS out for praise in his speech saying a large amount of the team's success this year was down to DS and his management of the defence. Mind it didn't stop another player cleaning up, trophy-wise.

    Warm sun today - enjoy!

Dilemma - the garage I'm buying my car from has a small camper van in. It's the same price but very old, M-reg, with over 100k on the clock, but looks to be in perfect condition (that's not to say the engine is). My dream has been to own one since our touring caravan days but logically a new-to-me car is the sensible answer, as it will almost certainly be the last one I buy. I couldn't afford a newer camper, they're over 20k, whereas the car is only three years old with the 2 year remainder of warranty. I have until Tuesday morning to decide. What would you do?

Hmm, difficult! Do you know anyone mechanically-minded who could give the van a check over to see what condition the engine etc is actually in? If it's a dud then the decision will probably make itself - it won't help if it turns out to be as good as it looks though, of course!
Back after a very long break!

    Evening all.

Welcome FrooGal - like everyone else, I love your username. :D

Frith - love the art work. :)

    1) Long lie-in this morning: I didn't feel like getting up, realised I had no real reason to do so, so I didn't. ;)

    2) NSD and NPD, for the third day in a row. I'm going to need lots more as...

    3) I'm going to a mini music festival with my mum and sister next month. :j I've found a cheap hotel for us to stay in, and my sister is going to speak to her contacts in the security and catering companies to try and get us some discounted tickets, but it's still going to be a pricy weekend away. Should be great fun, though. :)

    4) Watching some of the live feed from the Isle of Wight Festival and, just as Kodaline finished and walked off stage, the rain stopped in London and the tennis started. :D

    5) Spoke to my dad on the phone and he liked the Father's Day present I bought him - a book on beers of the world which I got half price from the office book club. :money:

Have a good rest of evening, all. :)
Back after a very long break!

    3. DS with his G/F all day so peace(mean mummy aren't I?)
    4. Solar water moving thing..er..well its moving water..trickle trickle..in a HM with marbles and an old metal bowl sort of way!(AH the word I was looking for is fountain..I lose words somtimes, must be my age!)

    2. Lazy morning with DD.

    3. Got the washing done and dried.

    4. DD loved the soup I gave her for lunch.......but then tutted when she saw the can it came from, lol.

    5. 10p for a baguette, we had hot dogs for tea, nomnom.

    6. Stopped off on the way home at a lovely park and enjoyed the sunshine :)

    7. We saw lots of cyclists as it was the London/Brighton bike ride today - rather them than me, but lovely to watch others raising money, I'd be better at a sponsored silence (so long as I had a good book!)

    Hi all

Generally had a carp day - nothing major just irritating and a waste of most of it.

    1. Everyone seems to be moaning about the weather but me, Mrs Weather Obsessed, thinks it's alright! Really warm sun when it was out and the rain didn't amount to much when it happened
    2. Had a piece of fried bread by mopping a crust round the bacon fat in the pan. Common as muck, me :D
    3. Dad got his Father's day pressie in time and was very chirpy on the phone as all my brothers and sister, who live near him, visited with an assortment of grandchildren. But not FN who is revising for her GCSEs
    4. My DD made OH a lovely card - it was drawn like a 5 year old would draw it, she said that it wasn't meant to be like that, that was as good as it got.
    5. New PJ's from Primark
6, DD in her play tonight - fab as ever.:T

Not bad for a carp day.

    Evening

    MMS - Lovely post

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Shopping for bits for holiday in Primani with DD, think we are all sorted now
    2. Yummy dinner at inlaws tonight and lots of laughter
    3. Came home with a new to me toaster and a good quality saucepan that had come from OH's nan's house that were going spare. Our toaster is a really cheap one and not deep enough so only toast half the bread, this one looks much better
    4. Chat on the phone with Dad and he is giving us some spending money for holiday. Not asked for but know he gets pleasure by seeing us enjoy it so thanked a lot and will mean a special treat while away.
    5. SIL has got us 2 tickets for Centre Court on the middle Saturday of Wimbledon :j:j. She gets given an allocation with her job so has very kindly offered them to us. DD is very happy to be going again and is going for the record of how many times she can get captured on camera.

Hugs to all who need them

Post lost, will try again. And just noticed the shoe of smaller son is in my photo! He is on the right, just stepping out of the picture.

Dundeedoll - hope you are OK.

Skint - good news re the theory test pass!

Kittikins - I want to go to a BBQ now you've mentioned it! Perhaps I'll buy one of those little disposable ones and we'll have one at the weekend.

CCP - I caught the very end of the Murray match. Was very touching when he got choked up talking about his friend.

Tealady - my mum and brother got tickets allocated through the club brother plays for so they will be in Centre Court next Tuesday!

Here are my pleasures for today:

    1) A good sleep!

    2) Listened to the Archers whilst cleaning the kitchen.

    3) Got all washing put away and uniforms ready.

    4) Took my dad out for father's day to a local National Trust mansion. It was advertised as "Gamekeepers of the Past" which was a bit misleading as there were just some people holding owls and 2 ferrets. Dad has more ferrets than that!

Was funny because we bumped into 2 of his friends looking round (the husband was almost asleep in one of the galleries) and they weren't particularly interested in the modern art bits but had 2 friends staying with them who were.

This year we got dad some beer, some cheese (its traditional) and the charity shop yesterday was closing and selling everything off for 50p so he got 2 books as well.

    5) Had tea at mum and dad's.

    6) Really enjoyed watching the Horizon programme about cats where they were fitted with little cameras.

    7) My school friend came round.
