CCP - thank you! I didn't think it unreasonable, but she thought in these fee paying times, it gave him some ammunition for complaint.
I can't help thinking that the sort of student who would complain about that would be the type to complain about anything - if it's not your comments it would be the mark you gave.
1) Waking up in the early hours of this morning to hear the gale-force wind hurling rain at my windows, and being very glad I'm not at the Isle of Wight Festival this year!
2) Smoked salmon on HM seed bread for lunch.
3) NSD and NPD.
4) Given the disappointing lack of tennis, I spent the afternoon playing a silly (and free :money:) computer game - it's one I used to like but haven't played for a while, and I'd forgotten how satisfying it can be to mindlessly slaughter lots of innocent pixels.
5) Made a ginger beer substitute with some ginger cordial and some of the sparkling water I rescued from the driveway a few weeks ago - the water's slightly lemony-tasting, so it works really well.
6) HM pizza for dinner tonight - while watching tennis, by the looks of it!
Have a good evening, all - I'm off to cheer on Mr Murray again, although with slightly mixed feelings this time as I'm a great Tsonga fan, too. :undecidedBack after a very long break!0 -
Struggling a bit with my complicated marital status :-( i know several of you have been through $h!tty times and all will be well in the end but today has been a struggle :-( so 5 good things

3) watched robin williams film man of the year on iplayer
4) finished my equality and diversity last assignment yay
5) played the piano. Havent done that for a while and thekeys are a little sticky (!) omg my fingers were so rusty, but it was very therapeuticMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Mhagster - Get well NOW
DundeeDoll - (((hugs))), hope things improve soon.
Pleasures for today,
1. Intended to get up early this morning and get shopping done but instead had a lie in.
2. Fridge all fully stocked again for the week
3. Invite to the inlaws for dinner tomorrow
4. Taxi booked to pick us up from the airport when we go on holiday for 60 euros return rather than the £90 holiday company wanted to charge and we get a bottle of wine :money:. OH and DD are a nightmare on coaches so this is money well spent and only a few euros more expensive.
5. Skyped DM tonight for the first time, nice to see her as we chatted.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Morning, I'm a newbie but have been lurking on this thread for a while looking for ideas to keep as on the OS straight and narrow. Hope you are all well.
Mine for yesterday:
1- eating some amazing locally grown rhubarb,
2 - a NSD
3 - loving beans on toast on homemade bread for tea
4 - making good progress on a patchwork cushion cover for womb baby's room
5 - laughing at the ridiculous June weather with the OHRecovering Shopaholic
Santander: £1800 overdraft - £1800 to go0 -
:hello: FrooGal, that's a good set of pleasures. Welcome aboard!
Hello to the regulars, posting this from our new home :smileyhea she's beautiful, didn't run as smoothly as we anticipated but nothing ever does!
My five for the last couple days;
1. Waking up to a view of trees, fields and country tracks.
2. Sitting in my now clean conservatory, the people left the house absolutely filthy- took two whole days to get rid of just the dust!
3. Took Ian the dog out for a walk in the woodland that backs onto our house and we discovered a hidden footpath to the local church, we didn't make it all the way to the church because OH lost his shoe in a particularly smelly, muddy puddle-I then fell into said puddle whilst rescueing his shoe! A hilarious induction to country living-walking boots in the future, even for small walks :rotfl:
4. Attending a beautiful family wedding at a wonderful historic house. The grooms speech was incredibly moving, not a dry eye in the room.
5. Home. That warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you're happy with who you are, where you are and you're excited about what comes next. I've had some scary times in the past where the future felt nonexistant, it's nice not to feel like that at the moment, it'll probably come back around but for now I'm going to enjoy feeling happy and content.
It's good to be back xComper, Blogger & OS-erCompetition prizes: £6/£20150 -
Sorry but still in a loop on the wrong number with BT. I am in a contuous loop with their telephone assistant, with Greensleeves occasionally in the background.
To think years pass BoP could shin up the poles!!!
Back later, later, later, later. So Beard hugs to all who do need them.0 -
Quick 5 for yesterday.
1) Massive sleep. Smaller son (and therefore I) only woke at 9.56. Their dad was due to pick them up at 10....
2) 2 loads of washing, tidied etc.
3) Sorted out ebay sales.
4) Went to a local nursery open day and had a cup of tea. Didn't buy any plants. Still have some from the other day to go in the garden.
5) Had tea at my mum and dad's.
6) Went to the pub with my sister and brother in law. It was really busy (by local pub standards!) with lots of dads of people we went to primary school with and Tom (who is 98 and lives next to the pub).
7) Had some interesting post.

ETA - can't re-size the image but that is sons' artwork from the other day!0 -
Sunday evening here, watching MasterChef ... It's on 4 nights a week
Nice chat with my mum on phone this morning.
Brunch at a new to us cafe. Recommended by a friend.
Ironed whilst listening to some radio 2 podcasts.
Sunday snooze.
Started a new library book .
Nice dinner of meatloaf , roast parsnips, mashed potatoes , cabbage, broccoli , cauliflower and cheese sauce and a terrible attempt at Yorkshire puddings , then left over from birthday meringues, pears and cream. Yummy!
Have a lovely day0 -
Welcome FrooGal, love the very appropriate name
Re your #3 - thank you for making me laugh MMS!
Avast Bop! Send them scallywags at BT along the plank, even if only for playing that incessant tinny muzacBtw, did you know there's an official 'Talk Like a Pirate Day'?! http://talklikeapirate.com/piratehome.html
The rest of us, watch out for even more unintelligible ramblings from BoP on Sept 19th
Frith I like your cottagy garden, and love the artwork! It brightens up plain paving slabs beautifully
Dilemma - the garage I'm buying my car from has a small camper van in. It's the same price but very old, M-reg, with over 100k on the clock, but looks to be in perfect condition (that's not to say the engine is). My dream has been to own one since our touring caravan days but logically a new-to-me car is the sensible answer, as it will almost certainly be the last one I buy. I couldn't afford a newer camper, they're over 20k, whereas the car is only three years old with the 2 year remainder of warranty. I have until Tuesday morning to decide. What would you do?
Have a sunny day0 -
Dundee (((hugs))) relationships can be so painful at times
Frith - great to see your boys' artwork - the old OS fun is still the best
Missmoneysave - Hope you will be very happy in your new home xx
