ooh seems like I missed posting yesterday

DD - LOL. My favourite ever answer was to do with design liability and a student telling me that "if Canterbury Cathedral fell down you would have to sue the architect. If he was dead you would have to trace his ancestors and sue them" :rotfl:

    Yesterday's pleasures

    1. DD didn't have a lesson till after lunch so no school run :T
    2. Meeting with external Examiner was OK. She told me to think of her as my "critical friend" (yeah, right) and rapped my knuckles for writing "the fact that you are 500 words under the 1500 word limit is frankly incredible" - good job she doesn't know about the "no !!!!!! Sherlock":p
    3. Dentist in the afternoon - but was quick, painless and my teeth are OK
    4. Had to leave the exam board early because of (3) - I gather I missed an hour of examiners comments :T
    5. went to a pub quiz with DD. We were a team of 2. I am usually a mine of useless information - but not sport and one picture round was football badges. We were the smallest team by far and didn't come last.

    And today's

    1. Nice walk to and from station - and I ddin't get wet, despite some horrendous rain throughout the day
    2. Nice gossip with colleagues at lunchtime
    3. Lovely farm shop blue stilton salad for lunch and 3rd day in a row chicken pie for tea.
    4. Had a great fun meeting this morning. Our cluster leader was trying to engage us on a discussion about something he knows nothing about and which 3 of us have a total of about 70 years experience in. It must have been like facing those witches from "the Scottish Play". He's saying "the thing is we just can't show how where the money goes in a building project". "yes, you can" we chorus - which stage of construction would you like us to give you the costs for". "contractors don't know where the money has gone" says he "then they are crap contractors" say we, "give us the accounts - we'll tell them". And so on - he retired, hurt :D
    5. Had a baking evening - flapjacks, cup cakes and my first ever fudge. The fudge, in particular, is yum

    Friday tomorrow :T
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Kittikins- o, s, t, mus, tis, nt - it's all coming back to me now!

Here are my pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Fitted a new toilet seat!

    3) Changed the beds and had a good tidy up.

    4) Smaller son had a good day at school. Bigger son is off to Kenilworth Castle tomorrow.

    5) Smaller son did his homework with no fussing. Bigger son did a lot of fussing but has finished his castle model and written the report to go with it. That just leaves geography for tomorrow night....

    6) Chilli and rice for tea.

That's about it! Quiet day today.

    Afternoon all.

Super-quick post from me, before the Murray match starts:

    1) Working from home so I could have a bit of a lie-in.

    2) Stinky French cheese and cucumber sarnie for lunch. One of the benefits of working from home is that there are no colleagues to complain that your lunch smells!

    3) Finished the report I had the day at home to write, although I'll have to go over it again on Monday as it's too long to fit on two sheets of paper - by one word!

    4) BoP's obviously been generous with putting money in the meter as the sun's out again.

    5) Tennis, starting now - see you later! ;)
Back after a very long break!

Hello LFS, yes I'm going to train to be a primary school teacher, I'm sooooo excited :) I've got a languages degree from a long time ago so only have to do the year's training and then I can be let loose with children :)

    1. The sun has returned!

    2. Bumped into a lovely chum whilst on the school run and had a great chat whilst our children ran around like looneys.

    3. Treated DD to an icecream at the school sale, didn't even ask for a lick!

    4. Cake at work...nomnomnom.

    5. Came home to potentially stressy mail from student finance but a 25 minute phone call has reduced it somewhat - they can't seem to grasp that when I did my degree back in the dark ages, I had one surname, now I've married, got divorced and have my married surname, so they need to update their records! I can't be the only person they've come across like me, surely?!?

    6. DD and I are planning a picnic in the park to say goodbye to our friends, well on a nice day like today, it's easy to plan!

    7. Lovely friend popped in just as we were about to eat our scrumptious dinner (DD's risotto was fan-blooming-tastic) and we had enough for the 3 of us :) Good timing on her part!

    8. Bumped into a friend who is an outstanding teacher and she's offered to give me a pep talk/pass on useful info - over a glass of wine of course!

    Right, sorry about that! :o

    Two additional pleasures:

    1) NSD and NPD.

    2) Murray won his match. :j

And one anti-pleasure, if I may:

-1) My favourite roasting dish just cracked in half while in the oven. Luckily the food in it is fine, but it's still annoying!

Personally I think that should come under 'fair comment', in the same way a statement can't be libellous if it's true. It's probably a good thing I do admin rather than anything academic like marking, on the whole! ;)
Back after a very long break!
  • Thankyou Kittikins:) DS loves helping out at the primary school! Its so sweet how he wants to look like a teacher(He was wearing a suit today!)
    1. DD came to see me:D lots of hugs and dvd watching
    2. HM cheese and ham sourdough rolls..nomnomnom:D
    3. Crunchy baby carrot whilst walking dog
    4. Shower with portable shower and I only used 4 litres of water:D It looks like a bug sprayer!!
    5. Another batch of sourdough dough waiting to be kneaded! My friend should be coming to see me tomorrow:D
Happy bunny though I didn't get much actual work done today...I like being self employed!
