In fact, you were with me just now. Took you outside, left, down past the raspberries and into the rhubarb. You have better reach than this ancient crone, so if you'd be so kind. That's it....just pull the hose through please, watching for the crowns...yup, that's perfect. I have it now. And these weeds are for down there, other side, by the back hedge, on the compost.

    Thanks bop.

Now, we have to water out the front and then round the back again. So, off you go with the hose - start with neighbour's new bit I dug and planted for him while I'm typing this. Cathartic, I find - mowing and watering both, good thinking time. We'll swap over from time to time. There's quite lot to be done tonight. Those Japanese anemones are looking a bit limp but should pick up. Just slosh it on low, at soil level.

Do you want to put neighbour's bunnies away for the night?

He was taken to hospital yesterday in horrendous, intolerable pain, regardless of stoic courage. Knew something was up when I heard a faint voice call. He gave me daughter's no. Did all I could for next hour, somewhat torn between obeying 'No No, no. I'll be alright, it'll pass' and calling Meds. Did that, said I was. No real opposition. Just as well. So now I am hen mother[3 eggs tonight. How come? from 2 girls? - chickenopolis, we're calling you]and bunny mother. Let everyone out, bought feed and looked after as time allowed...not easy, when 'back box exhaust' fell off in Nmkt. So, Spits off AGAIN, so embarrassing and annoying and £££cringeworthy. More dread expenditure on the day Bank repaid my wrongly deducted interest[receive Gross, not Net-which tells all re:small income.] That was after Dr's appt with more cack to come next week. That was after Frith's tar+road men arriving in village then blocking us all in, so couldn't be @surgery on time, hence late for next appt in other direction, unavoidably caught by tar gang again. Day continued with eventual arrival at poss. storage location, much apology from me, forgiven....and I am accepted. Can't move in until current person vacates but have permission for last w/e's sweet, sweet furniture to go in until big Fair, which recent loss of Spits Thursdays - tomorrow the final straw - now makes necessary.

bop - how's that watering coming along? You can come back onto my front patch now. Just start on the tomatoes and I'll be there shortly - just doing a bit more here. Oh, see the clematis? Beautiful garnety-crimson. First flowers out today and only planted 3/4 weeks.

Back soon - no numbering ce soir. Who's counting?

BOP - hope you're OK. There are hankies in every room here at the moment (loo rolls, in fact, due to hay fever). And you can have a virtual cup of tea. The choice at the moment is normal, rooibos, jasmine or raspberry.

Here are my pleasures for today.

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Went to Worcester to meet a friend of mine from school/Sixth Form College (we worked out we met at guides when we were 10!)

    3) Slightly money saving. Got talking to the lady in Holland and Barrett about St John's Wort (the only substance EVER to improve my mood and the psychs have tried a few!) She mentioned that it has been reclassified and the dose has been lowered in their tablets... damn it. But she found some of the high dose ones at the back of the shelf so I stocked up for the next 3 months. Then I'll cut down! Also pointed out the 2 for 1 offer. Still a bit pricey.

    4) Spoke to smaller son's lovely head teacher. She is the only one who seems able to get any information from the county council and she always relays it to me. Well, it was quite a phone call!

Seems smaller son (in a way that might annoy BOP just slightly) was well and truly set up by his old school.

The potential new head teacher from the autism unit came to smaller son's short stay school yesterday. She thought he was lovely and the short stay school sang his praises and FOR THIS REASON it seems likely the autism base will accept him.

His whole special needs statement has to be re-written. Head teacher told me why...

Former school had written oodles to back up the statement - that smaller son is extremely violent. Somewhere in the paperwork they wrote that it will take 2 trained adults to keep him under control. Hence why every primary school I approached turned him down without discussion or meeting him. I got the exclusion overturned but this bit I did not know about.

New head teacher was almost spitting the words out telling me this. I said "Well, there is only me here, do they think he has 2 adults supervising him at home?!" She said it was disgraceful and that he is the best of his class and they have seen no violence AT ALL in the 7 months he has been there. I said I had never been made aware of anything serious from his old school until the (fabricated?) slap of another pupil who went into the toilet when smaller son was mid meltdown and hiding in there.

So the opinion of some idiot at his old school could have mucked up his entire education.

Anyway! More meetings, more reports and it looks like his statement will be re-written and the possibility of the autism base in September. Seems the base is marvellous and they integrate with the primary school 90% of the time.

    5) Nice hummus and pepper sandwich for lunch. Which has reminded me I need to start the bread maker off.

    6) Tea made from our bingo winnings! Mashed pots, broccoli, carrots and pork loin steaks. :-) Then strawberries and pineapple.

    7) Sister came round and gave me a sweet pepper plant as they've been planting them at her school.

    8) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

Hugs to BoP - much, much better out than in
    Well Done DD's DD :T

    Today's pleasures

    1. Just eaten the first strawberry from the garden for a couple of years, warm from the sun and ripe and juicy. Shared with OH, delish
    2. Frustrating external examining. The course is being run out and you can tell they've lost interest, but generally it is a well run department and always a pleasure looking through different work
    3. Had a nice chat with other externals from other institutions - we knew a lot of people in common. That doesn't make sense but I know what I mean
    4. DS got a sports award tonight and the ceremony wasn't too tedious (the school must have given out 200 awards). The speech from the British Olympic Handball team captain was inspirational (Bobby White, to save you googling)
    5. Threw out a pair of shoes that have totally wrecked my feet. Believe me, it was a pleasure. I have had them 4 years and have never been able to wear them in - time to go

Nighty night all - back to Sheffield tomorrow.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Phew!...all done, just in, too dark to see.

All that watering must have done this week's pension in.

Thank Goodness bop was close by. Had to climb in to the ex-playpens which are bunny dayrooms to catch each one. Eventually clutching bunny with rear feet gougers going like the clappers - they don't go limp like kittens when taken by the ruff - bop was all gent and with firm grip walked them to the night nursery.

Girls in quiet night brrrk-brrrking in their upper coop, excessive anti-predator barricades put up, dug in by &....too many memories of French night stealth and 0200h raids and screeching and bloodletting and subsequent amateur stitching[slightly qualified so to do at one remove sortakinda] and veterinarianing[that's my made-up one for ce soir]. Princess Lucky was thus baptised anew, interesting name for a coq.

Very conscious of neighbour's 2-foots and 4-foots being in my keeping until he returns. So, while exhaust falling off is absolute pain, it has ensured my presence and animal wifery tmrw.

Well done on 1st strawb, vjm. I noted blush starting on one Cambridge Favourite tonight. Will it be for birdies or me?

5th bud open on orchid. How they last, weeks and weeks. Stunning.

1st year of philadelphus blooming. All 3 came from the Sick Bay@Scotsdale's, different species and it looks like, pure chance, that as one ends, the next begins. Dizzying scent I adore, with last of no.1 mixing with current 2 and imminent 3.

Exhaust fell off as I left our Charity, where M, by turns troubled, furious, disappointed, despairing had huge rant with me being silent sponge/broad shoulder. It's good to know an unguarded side of some people. I am concerned but glad my rôle has moved on now. It was M who came out and surprisingly clambered under car, got filthy and sorted exhaust for plod-proof safe limp back.

Yes sparrer - new car's new name please:-) She's shiny. She's black. Is she a she? Do tell.

vjm throws out one pair of shoes, while I had earlier envisaged Tealady donning her fabulous IR's for last night's walk home. Sorry vjm, but a pet loathe of mine is [STRIKE]'inspirational'[/STRIKE]. The word is 'inspiring'.

dd-didn't know you were a numbers addict. Didn't know such a Classification, but yep - I'm in there too. And there's your dd, doing the well-nigh impossible with that great internship, PAID being pretty much unheard of now. Lucky girl, so many life skills absorbed from her Mum.

frith - a night of crowning glories of one sort or another[this particularly includes you bop - it is one special night]and now we celebrate New Head Teacher of Smaller Son! In a Dave Allen way, I thank God for her involvement, just in time for smaller son. Previous school's actions now seem actionable in themselves, but I can imagine, Frith, that No More Contact is too soon for you with that shabby lot. I seem to recall one young [probationer?/supply?]woman trying to protect/defend him, but having to walk away. Were smaller son ever violent, previous school have seriously failed statute by not advising you at once. Such a thing should be recorded on each occasion, the names of the adults involved ditto. Let me have them before me under Oath. I feel outraged by this account. Again & tells self, NOMB, but, but, but..... Oh, best damask by the roll all over squat here too - head fuller than ever, eyes now affected.

Have just heard appalling weather forecast relayed in tone of some head-shaking unwllingness by announcer, closing 'even some gales down on the South coast possible with the widespread plunging weekend temperatures ' Lawks kittikins! More flyaway laundry?

Flukey find of spectacularly hideous OTT splendour a.k.a. capodimante vintage flower urn.

Au lit, presque minuit. Huge amount to do by Saturday.

bop and lady whack - special Goodnights to you both.

So much sadness in your posts BoP, but good that you can express your emotions here among friends. Hugs to you and your dear Aunt. I understand it's been a very difficult time, I ache for the innocents involved.

Yes she is a she. I have a list of names both Korean and English, including The Black Widow, Treacle, and (black) Puddin'. I quite like the latter but will no doubt find something that suits when I've driven her for a while longer.

    Sweet dreams :)

I vote for puddin' myself Sparrer:)

Frith - I'm livid at the way your poor son has been treated, how dare they write such a horrific report! Thank goodness he is in a more caring, nurturing place at the moment and fingers crossed for more of the same when he goes to the new school x

Has anyone else had a horrible night trying to sleep with the humidity thwarting them at every turn? I need matchsticks to prop my eyelids open already! :(

Thursday tea time, just heading out with the girls to see Monsters Inc film at cinema ...using cheap tickets bought ages ago .

Yesterday I had a mini meltdown again at work.....kind off! Disagreed with my manager....and he said do you want to discuss this? ...er yes! So we sat outside for 25 minutes and got stuff sorted out!! Feel much better for venting my many frustrations , today work was much better and hey! It's so very nearly Friday !

Visited a friend last night and had a good natter....bit of a moan and a different perspective on things and a bit of a laugh , which is always good.

Was a clear and cold night and I had to scrape my windscreen of ice this morning.....first one and the coldest June morning in yonks. I know it's winter but it still seems bizarre to scrape your car in June!

Having a nice chat and given a nice hug from a nice customer.

OHs important hospital appointment went well, surgery not needed at the moment which is such a relief .

DDs have had the day off school so no bullying today.....I had thought things had improved , which I think initially they had but a couple of particularly nasty cows in her class have started to get others to alienate and ignore her or just generally be !!!!!y.
Will ask to be placed on waiting list for another school.....it's nearly the school holidays , one more week then 2 weeks off.

Anyway, I'm off to the cinema, have a lovely day :)
