    evening all,

sparrer... hope you managed to relax and sleep today... you be careful with all that driving, don't want to be nodding off at the wheel x

    Pleasures for today

    1. lazy morning .... could get used to this time off work malarkey ;)

    2. birthday card and one of presents I ordered off bay of e for DS arrived in post - very quick delivery considering bank holiday

    3. cut the grass before rain started and also managed to get strimmer to work so lawn looks very neat now .... although each time the "strim" snapped I had to take the darn thing apart and manually feed some more through - bit of a pain but cant afford new stuff for it at the moment

    4. made a nice chicken and bacon pasta bake for tea, and enough leftover to freeze some for another day

    5. nice chat with friend on phone, we are going out to lunch tomorrow, so looking forward to that

    nite all x

    1. http://www.varmatin.com/sports/rugby/rct - tells all re:nil chance of finding billet pour Le Match samedi soir, but it's lovely to read about. Next best, have to find similar groupie gathering in front of big screen somewhere.

    2. Spits demain - absolutely no prep. or changeover poss. 'cos of foul weather, so mind set to lackadaisical ho-hum re: same old same old, and usual 'on verra.' Except, chicken, that I too acquired Barbie and Ken at w/e, in a turquoise /white convertible roadster which plays music and tooty-toots, has seatbelt for Ken and opening doors. Looks to be 1968, which might be a collector's dream...I can hope.

    3. Used that £1.91 voucher with great pleasure chez Mr T, because not only were Everyday Value oranges back in at last, but they'd been reduced in price to 49p per net! Took 5, which caused deepest suspicion at till. 'How can you get all of those for only 59p? I'll have to call my manager' was the charmless greeting of mathless female. She was put right.

    4. Another at last! Slug pellets back in @£land. Another sod it moment to match - bought 10 canisters, as the blighters are back in force, even worse than last onslaught. There are writhing nurseries of the disgusting viles underneath timber, rocks, everywhere. Anyone who needs to commit cathartic murder, bring screwdriver and join in. No kebab refreshments.

    5. This is très late au lit pre-Spits, but off now. Up in <4 hours. Coincidence of sorts, ccp - your no. 3 yesterday had a little thing I liked[icon] and your no.3 tonight exactly chimes with feelings I had when someone was explaining some arcane theory in a remote field of astrophysics in which they'd taken their Doctorate. For that realtime frame of listening, I hung on every word, listened in deep understanding, HAD IT....then, le lendemain, all gone, except I retain[as we all do]the sense of having understood and being able to replicate its parameters which is not in any way the same thing.

    Bonne nuit.

  • My five for today;
    1. Got some more packing done.

    2. Had yummy leftover jambalaya for tea.

    3. OH is out for the night so it's girlie films and snacks for me.

    4. Ian the dog, he knows that when his daddy is out overnight he gets to sleep on the bed with me. He has been sat at the bottom of the stairs whining to go to bed since about 8.30. He's a funny little thing.

    5. The chair we've been looking at buying for the new house has been reduced :T

    My pleasures for today:

    1) A big sleep! Smaller son slept for 12 hours.

    2) Porridge for breakfast.

    3) Had a good tidy up.

    4) Sons went to their father's so I went for a massive walk.

    5) Getting organised to go to my friend's house tomorrow. Don't know whether to go on the train or drive (near Reading).
