But, theres good in every day so:
1. I finished reading inferno...oooh tis good
2. Afternoon snooze as I felt blargh
3. I slept well last night no hot hot hot moment
4. Son is with his dad tomorrow for the w/e so (:p) me and OH shall be alone...see you sunday2013 NSD 100. CC2014CC- £31.50/£1352014 NSD 86 so far - May 20/212014 G/C spend £741.55 so far May £107.99/£91Debt Free - 30.05.13 Emergency tin - £1000June 23 - 9NSD0 -
Hugs mhags xxx Words seem so inadequate
1. Payday - tax credits - and Friday - and half term starts now, woohoo!!
2. Chaperoned for DD's dance show and it was fabulous
3. Great day at work, felt like I got lots done!
4. Freebie periodic table poster arrived through the post
5. Childcare grant application form arrived as well, have to hold off on applying for it until I know what'll be happening with DD.
6. Lovely friend C lent DD a coat this morning as we got to her house and realised that her coat wasn't in the car after all....and it was tipping it down!0 -
Very sorry to hear your sad news, MHagster and I hope your daughter is OK. It must be awful to lose a friend when you are that age.
Quick pleasures for me today as I have a sore throat and want to sort out a hwb and go to bed!
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Sons happy at school.
3) Made it to bigger son's 1st orthodontist appointment! I'm going to have to see if there is somewhere nearer as it was over an hour each way. I mean, I do LIKE Hereford but.... There were people in the waiting room from further away than us. One family had come from Llandovery!
4) Had a cup of tea afterwards in my favourite caf!.
5) Mum and dad met smaller son from school then realised the spare key to my house wasn't in the usual hiding place. MrN then appeared and said they could wait in his house (!) but they decided they would go home and get the other spare key from the drawer instead.
6) Went swimming with sons and my brother.
7) Someone had left Diary of a Wimpy Kid part 3 (the book) at swimming and son decided he would borrow it and return it when we go, probably Sunday. He is not a great fan of reading but he sat reading for over an hour!
That's about it! One bit of bad news (potentially) this morning that irritated me quite a lot. I phoned the County Council to confirm smaller son's place in the asd unit but they "couldn't possibly confirm" and had "only asked the head on Monday" and ever other excuse in the book. I just hope the head of his present school was accurate in everything she said yesterday. She certainly has seemed more on the ball than the county in every other way.
Then I phoned the advice giving lady at County who has been helpful throughout but at the end of our chat she said "What does your husband think?" I was so thrown by that question I said "Erm... I haven't got one!" She said, "Well, I know but what does he think?" I tried to explain that I haven't asked him his opinion for over 8 years now but she didn't seem to get it. I said he was invited to son's diagnosis meeting and to school meetings but hadn't turned up and it is unlikely he has any opinion but she just wouldn't drop it! Oh well.0 -
When mums BoP went, she said some have to go early to keep good the crowd.
Pleasures of the Crank Holiday. Just live it. Back up from Bristol last nite, waving to those enjoying the sun in the queue on the way to the sheeple park. Most annoy them, to go back down the A38 from Thornbury and do it all again!! Off now to do it all again!
Took Ms Whack out last nite afterwards for good food. Decent Bakewell afters. All woooooooooooooooooooooobleaded up aft wards. Ms Whack was giggly as well. We play a game now to see how many waitresses eye up BoP. There is more than one. Makes Ms Whack all gooooooey eyed.
Now, offs cause the Yellow thing is out
Hugs to all, and special hairy bear hugs to those who has lost ones.
Apols to those who are fraidy cat of hairs, note DD, I did have a little part of my carpet shaved when Jenny was implanted. No worry, the nurse recovered and the hairs have grown back. Boy dis I has itchy tit.0 -
Posted last night, then nothing worked.
Couldn't even turn wretched putah off, a variant on its 6+hrs' opening shenanigans.
All disappeared this morning.
BUT - against all odds, underdogs Toulon put up another mighty performance, 2nd in 6 days, and head to Super 14 grand finale - 1 juin - after beating Toulouse 24-9.

That's a big victory and JW is Eurpoean Player of the Year. I continue to read, absorb, recognise much in his book.
1-5 [auto-numbering again, dear readers]. Eventually showered, dressed, started out gate, turned back. Decided it could be npd/nsd and had both. Just wanted to be warm, read, sleep. Renewed hwb and watched jay as kettle boiled. He scooped up thrown peanuts with alacrity, flew away, then back for more. Bed again was lovely. Read more JW. Heard good play. Sudden yen for mackerel in tom sauce+toast, nana, orange, apple, tea felt just right. Later, a marvellous Great Lives with Edmund de Waal on Primo Levi. A glorious Garrison Keiller just now, with one of the best Quiet Weeks in Lake Woebegon:

Was anticipating pleasure of npd+modest Spits banking, library rtns etc,but will use wombled tillspits from an abandoned carton foraged during packing up, late @Spits. Asda bag inside contained another screwed up Mr T Money Off Next Shop:£1.93 and a 10p per litre petrol voucher. I need fuel for next Spits, so will use. I never pass the Spend barrier for these, so a real bonus. Then I'm near-ish College Salon for skin test and appt Tues.
It's supposed to be sunny, warm today.
I'll go this far: it's dry. Not much more yet, but hoping so for all of us.
Have restorative w/e's one and all, especially any Sophies.

(((Hugs))) to you all mhags. As DD said losing a child is so awful. My sister died in an horrific accident when she was just 16, my DM has never got over it although it was more than 50 years ago. My thoughts are with you all, and the friend's family
My pleasures are 5 in 1 today. Got a phone call from my sis-in-law to say DM was taken to hosp in Reading at 4.30am after suffering a heart attack. She'd woken with terrible chest pains but managed to press her pendant to alert control centre who in turn called for an ambulance. Frighteningly DM had stopped breathing by the time they got there but they shocked her and performed cpr (cracking several ribs but that was the least of their concerns at that time, she's 92 next Friday and bones very fragile). They managed to get her heart working again and took her to hospital where the nurses alerted my DB who lives 12 miles from her. He and Sis-in-L contacted me and after a nightmare journey - accidents and an overturned caravan on the M25 I arrived at 11am to find DM sitting up in bed putting her lipstick on!!!!!!!!!!!! Well she is quite a flirt and there were three male patients in the ward. She wasn't too impressed this afternoon when they told her they were moving her to an all female ward
. She had some lunch and had a little moan about all the beeps and buzzers going off the whole time til I pointed out that if it was silent they'd all be gonners! DB and his DD's will visit her over the next couple of days and God willing I'll go again on Tuesday. DB and I did broach the subject of home care but 'I'm not having anyone in my flat telling me what to do!' so that may take a little persuasion.
She's eating, complaining, feisty and flirty - all in all she's amazing! Thank you a million times over NHS, for the care you're giving her and not writing her off just because she's 'old'.
Sweet dreams0 -
Good to hear your dm's being looked after sparrer
At least your mention was brie..f ccp
1) fabby sun was here all day
2) lazy morning, washing out on the line
3) then off to dm's for lunch but weather was so lovely we sat in her garden and chatted s lunch was late. It was lish
4) then we went out in garden and chatted some more and finished off the sicilian wine
5) then we watched The Leopard. apparently burt reynolds said all his lines in English and it was then dubbed. I was so busy reading the subtitles i didnt notice his lack of lip sync
Now in bed with a big cup of tea and gonna watch The Job Lot which I discovered last night 'turns out they dont sell water or stones, just books'. So my sort of humourMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
