Evening all.CCP - 4 in a row?Skint_yet_Again wrote: »CCP .... come on did ya ? or did ya not win
No, we came third this week. We decided it was selfish of us to win every week and we should let someone else have a go.* :A
PK - I'm so sorry to hear about your animals - what a horrible thing to happen.Hugs to you and all your other animals.
Chicken - I would have loved to have seen that cake - I don't suppose there's any chance of a photo, is there?
Frith - hope your DS enjoys his night under the stars tonight.
1) The last of the strawberry plants went off to their new homes, and I've now got space in my greenhouse again.
2) Was fitted for a new office chair which will hopefully cure the backache that has been plaguing me, and the nice salesman said that, if it does, he will sell me one to use at home at the same heavily discounted price the university pays. :T
3) Did my weekly shop in L1dl as I didn't need much (my local branch is only small so doesn't stock a lot of the things I'd need for a major shop) and was amazed again at how cheap it is, despite getting a bit carried away at the deli counter. (Seven types of salami! Eight types of ham! Five types of Polish sausage!:drool::drool:)
4) The sun has now come out, although it's still a bit windy, so I've opened some doors and windows to air the flat out.
5) Sausage and courgette pasta bake for dinner, to make a start on the cold meat mountain that now fills one shelf of my fridge.
Have a nice Friday evening, all.
* And if you don't believe that, don't worry - none of the other quiz teams did, either!Back after a very long break!0 -
Hugs to departed pets.
Good luck to those changing let's, or moving house.
Well done to future MSE'rs, we can wait ten or so years.
And little frith, new duvet, and no more tears.
Now, loads of work this week. Ms BoP is snowed under. Pleasure doing the golf, but I have video of Ms BoP driving Golf Bugg. Do I put it on line or not. Bit laurel and hardy.
Still no connection to Radio Mud Flat from Hull.
Night all.
CCP. arrrrrgh. Yous can never have toooooo many red things in the back yard. Just get more cream in.0 -
' but I have video of Ms BoP driving Golf Bugg. Do I put it on line or not.'
Sounds ripe for a homely touch of blackmail, bop - but yours or Lady's Black's?
Therein lies a question.
Grande bienvenue, lovesfullshelves.
1. Back. Black lapsang and rtc choc edamame beans await beside bed.
2. A few happy finds en France amid the pleasurable day, albeit the village brocantes of Oye-Plage, St Pierrebrouck and Cassel being washed out several times by crazy weather[Albion influence, sans doute].
3. Sold several bons achats straightaway at Spits hier... like the kiddies' Singer sewing machines, 1972, all orange plastic, ivory and brown. There were 2, dusty, but perfect, even with their manuals and little tool sets. 'Pourquoi la paire?' I asked. The family were eating under cover in their rez-de-chaus!e. 'Une paire des filles, nos jumeaux' he replied. Great laughter and shared coffee and cake were insisted on. The twins were 50 in March. Great rugby family, too. Lovely interlude.
4. Did little banking, chatted with new mgr and felt a now solid and reassuring quiet content that I am still managing to put money in, however modestly, thanks to Spits.
5. En route back, dropped a gorgeous bushy thyme off to friend in next village. She rubbed some flowering sprigs between her fingers at once. Bought several from maman et fille in St Oye in the dreadful weather. I have one to put in, also - so pleased - 2 citronelle plants and another framboise. I've taken so many descendants of my local Church fète ones to France, this time it's the reverse.
6. Back @2h this morning, long hard work yesterday and not away till nearly 22h, in the rain, thanks to 2 late sales. Really slept and didn't set off till 12 hrs later today. Doesn't matter....especially as I have found my phone, after a week without. Great relief. It's re-charging now, as must I.
7. Skiting time: unlikely lateral-thinking repair to favourite old-fashioned basket has worked. It's the perfect carrier for Thermoses, munch, etceteras@Spits - long oval formica base[yes, very retro], rigid wicker sides and cane hoop handles, one of which had snapped clean through - my clumsy fault. Did a plaity, thready thing with wire and it looks good, is secure and safe again. Having a terribly smug !!!!!! moment in recounting same here.
8. Listening to Andy Murray playing his usual 2 opponents, currently himself and Berdych. It's more will he? won't he? at the start of the 2nd set.
9. A good em from someone connected with long-hauler. Will put proposal to her by Monday.
10. Last week's 50p brand new Clark's shoes had their trial stamp around today. Fine. Good timing too as last 50p walkies, Merrells, are starting to thin a bit.
11. Good free waitrose cappuccino, but sensed young bistro girl was wearing a brave face. I saw her shoulders sag when someone who knew her, a motherly looking customer, asked what was wrong. She's a lovely lass, sparkling dark eyes and smile, tumbling dark hair and - I've noticed - an acute observer with people. Why I felt troubled for her, dkw, but went off, found non-w8rs truffles and a little Cath Kidston lip balm, wrote small note on a serviette and popped bag into her manager's hands, as he left the office where he'd been speaking with her. Could see her there, wiping her eyes. Just asked him to pass it on, hoping she was alright, adding how lucky they were to have her. He agreed.
Tea needs re-zapping. So does Andy. Moi aussi. Bonne nuit.
kittikins - magic whizz-ard thinking at work for Uni acceptance, house sale.
Extremely belated birthday cake, chicken. It's good to know there's the possibility of communication, isn't it, even if not being used.
pk - I am so sorry.
ccp- such non-competitive modesty becomes you and your team. It's that English thaiinnng.
mhags - Saturday scone as we speak? Hope so.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Smallest Frith is in his own bed! No fuss, ipod on. :-)
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Boys had a good day at school.
3) Had my hair cut at college, less than a £5.
4) Had a cup of tea with my mum in Caf! Neros.
5) Bit of a tidy up.
6) Tea that sons really enjoyed - chicken kievs, HM potato wedges and peas.
7) Bingo! My brother and MrN's son5 went too. Our table did rather well. First, smaller son got a full house and won a bag containing poppadums, mango chutney, bhajis, kebabs and samosas. Then I won punnets of raspberries, strawberries and a pot of double cream. Finally, smaller son won another full house and got a bag of fruit: kiwis, apples, bananas, tangerines, oranges, plums and a grapefruit!
8) Home to a late snack of fruit and cream!
9) Been invited to brother in law's tomorrow night for board games so will take all the Indian food there.0 -
Yum, I want to come to your bingo Frith, it sounds deelish!0

Ampersand - what a lovely gesture for the girl in W8rose0

Worried about posting it in case it read as self-aggrandisement when it truly was a pleasure. It's just that my heart went out to her, having seen her over these months, since MW card altered my orbit:-). I've never bought anything Kath C in my life, eschew 'brands' and know nothing of her personally. Had she come out, was just going to give her a hug anyway, but was glad that mgr's timely exit allowed my anonymity.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
