sparrer have a lovely trip to Oban , one of our favourite places in the whole wide world! We have been many times and just love it and the whole west coast of Scotland. Keep your eyes open for seals and dolphins.

Nearly bedtime but had a pleasant day.

Work was fine. I am energised by it being a 4 day week with only one day left to work!

Sat outside in the warm sun at lunch time. Had a catch up with friend after work and a possible new friend....wasn't too sure of her at first ...bit full on at first but quite like her now!

Had to pop to supermarket to buy something for work ....and the fruit and veg guy was there! So for $3 today I got: apples, a lime, 3 turnips, more parsnips and some grapes!

For dinner steak pie made with rtc meat, rtc veggies: roast parsnips and spuds, cauliflower baby broccoli , carrot and turnip and cabbage! Stuffed!

Eldest child and youngest child currently full of nonsense! Nice to see....they've always had a nice bond with each other. I'm glad my kids get on with each other ...most of the time!!

Beautiful sunrise , sunset , autumn leaves on trees and off trees. We enjoy crunching and scrunching our way through the many leaves.

    Have a lovely Wednesday :)

    Evening all.

In a twist on the old joke about dreaming of eating gobstoppers and waking up to a missing marble collection, I dreamed last night about eating some bony fish and woke up this morning with a really sore throat. I've checked my sewing kit and all the needles are where I left them, though, so I think it's just hayfever. ;)

I haven't had many pleasures for the past couple of days, so I'll combine them if I may:

    1) Lovely purry greeting from a neighbour's cat when I got home last night, which made me reconsider my provisional plan to postpone getting another cat until the autumn.

    2) Solved an annoying problem with my mobile phone by turning it off and turning it back on again - it often works, so I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier.

    3) New next door neighbour has finally - after three days - switched off his garden light, which shines straight into my bedroom, so I don't have to find a nice way of asking him to do so.

    4) First expression of interest in my strawberry plant forest, which I advertised on the office noticeboard: I'll take some into work tomorrow to try to drum up a few more sales. :money: (The reason for the forest is that I got some seeds last year as part of a 'strawberry growing kit' - I just wanted the shiny red pot that came with it - and shoved them in some compost to see what happened; needless to say they all germinated and I've now got 30+ strawberry plants, which is more than I could use even if I liked strawberries, which I don't! :o)

    5) Think I've overdone things with my foot over the past few days :o, so I'm going to flop down and watch some football tonight, possibly with a Frith-inspired glass of cider.

sparrer - have a great time. I've always wanted to visit the Scottish islands, so I look forward to hearing all about it when you get back. :)
Back after a very long break!

Happy birthday for yesterday, Chicken! Any spare men in their 40s - send them round here!

Kittikins - well done on getting a viewing! My sister had 2 viewings and both made an offer! Her boyfriend has also sold his house now so they will both be on the move soon (to the same house).

Here are my pleasures for today:

    1) Sent off the rest of son's Ebay lego bits.

    2) Sent letters to Orange and Lovefilm so hopefully will be getting back the naughtily taken direct debits they've had from me AFTER I cancelled with them...

    3) Watched Holby.

    4) Started the Freedom Programme. Had put off for many years as I didn't fancy doing it in a room full of other people and having to talk about things so am doing it online. Even after all this time, its an eye opener.

    5) Made toad in the hole for tea.

    6) Just doing some questions for sons before they went to bed (this is a thing MrN started with them when he took them to school sometimes). You do get some funny answers! I asked smaller son which range of mountains Everest is in and he said "The Jerries"! Then I asked which the hardest substance is and he said "Numeracy" :-)

    7) One of my old school friends is in labour and has been since early yesterday morning. Her first child took 2.5 days. I can't imagine what that's like! Hopefully he/she will be here soon.

Nearly forgot! 8) Been bidding on Ebay and have won a bed. Have had the new mattress on the floor so far.

    Thank you all x

    Skintos -
This is good news! Are the shorter hours now permanent ?

Frith- you should write a journal of your sons lovely quotes. You are also welcome to any surplus men - tbh I found the whole thing kind of creepy. Funniest thing was that if random bloke had asked me a few minutes later he would have bumped in to my OH who was waiting in the queue in Bo*ts!

Have a good day all !
