Mhagster - Sending hugs to your DD

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Lazy morning getting nothing at all done
    2. As didn't do any food shopping yesterday got it done today and came in a little bit under budget which was suprised about as had bought some sweets to give out when I am volunteering next weekend. Need to hide the sweets now from OH and DD
    3. Had a late lunch so no one was bothered about dinner so just had cheesy beans on toast, very yummy
    4. Reading some of my book this afternoon in the sunshine
    5. DD making me 2 cups of tea and putting the bins out

Hugs to all who need them

Sorry to hear about your DD's friend, Mhags.

Here are my pleasures for today, briefly.

    1) Huge sleep.

    2) Had lunch at my mum and dad's.

    3) Went to Sainsburys.

    4) Cleaned the bathroom.

    5) Sorted out stuff for the freezer and made some ice lollies.

    6) Tackled rubbishy little strip of flower bed down the side of the patio, dug it all out (piled soil high on patio). Got the reclaimed bricks that were not needed in the re-pointing and put them in diagonally to made a neat upside down V shaped border. Think I will plant something in it to grow up the fence and put a row of lettuce in front!

    7) My school friend came round for tea.

    8) Sons very jolly today.

    9) Now in bed pondering what to watch/listen to on iplayer.
  • BoP ....... Snorkers !! Good oh !!
Tis a Pirate Ship, not a .... nods and winks, the Cruel Sea!

Gordens Bennetus. Not a good weekend. Just what were Watford up to. Cannot believe the people from the Mud Flats have got into the Premiership. Not a happy hectoid. No pleasure can become of that.

Ms Whack is upset that our internet radio connection to Radio Mud Flats has been severed, unconditionally until May 2014, or earlier should they fall!

On a good weekend folks, great game of Rugby Saturday, and photo for the Blue square Bet final at Wembley yesterday. Got to say, the match was poor in the day, and I must say, the venom from the losing side in football, which I never saw all season when doing the rugby, is beyond me.

On what would had been Mummy BoPs 80th birthday, this was a shame, I feel the same as she did the year she died. Heysel happened and her love, of years vanished into a disgrace. She never attended the Theatre of Fish again, through choice and health. She saw the English teams kicked out of Europe, and never saw Christmas again.

Not ten years on, at 28 years on, football, for all its so called victim hugging and cairns, has problems. If it does not sort these out, just as those I met from the train through Stroud, witnessed a drunkenness beyond measure. Society also has to sort it out as well, otherwise, it will be the abyss take the blame.

    1) Didn't sleep well last night as my new next door neighbour was having a house warming party which went on until so late it was early - normally I would have appreciated his / his guest's skill on the saxophone, but not at quarter to two in the morning! As it's not a work day, though, I could stay in bed until I felt rested enough to get up.

    2) Bacon roll for brunch.

    3) Mooched down to the bank holiday fair on the common, then mooched around the fair for a few hours - it's so nice to be able to walk when and where I like without pain.

    4) Stopped at a pub on the way back as I needed the loo, and watched a bit of the snooker with a drink and a bag of crisps.

    5) Football (a better-tempered match than the one you seem to have suffered through, BoP) then more snooker this evening, before going to bed and hopefully sleeping without my head buried under the pillow to drown out the noise.
Back after a very long break!

Evening all. lord, I'm tired. I never used to get tired in the evening but age is creeping up on me, I fear.

Sorry your match was marred, BoP
    Glad yours was good CCP

    For yesterday

    1. Went out early to see former student and now friend in order to pick up mini greehousey thing.
    2. She is now a teacher at a different place to mine so we had a cuppa and a collective moan about management :D
    3. OH and I went out for a bike ride. Cycled up to canal, along canal to water park, round water park, cup of tea and half a scone each, cycled back. 18 miles and lots of weightwatchers points earned
    4. Barbecue on new chimenea - chicken marinated in piri piri, yum
    5. OH is now well into his chimenea and has turned into a pyromaniac. We eventually came in when it got dark stinking of smoke and an old fence panel has literally gone up in flames:rotfl:

    And for today

    1. Did a couple of hours marking so I could go in the garden without guilt
    2. Did a bit of planting and a bit of weeding. Started seeds in seed trays in mini greenhousey thing, more of an experiment to see what happens and how well they grow
    3. DS friend came round and I took them to the park so they could play football on a proper pitch
    4. Whilst they did that I went to a garden centre - but I really need a list so didn't buy anything. Garden centre has it's own allotment so I enjoyed looking around that
    5. Fresh fish for tea which I breadcrumbed myself - so much nicer than the pre bought stuff, with chips. DS friend nearly always gets pizza or pasta here so i thought it would be a change.

Off for some more marking now - its no wonder I'm tired, really
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    1. Sunshine - got all the washing done and dried

    2. Managed to do some more strimming of the weeds in the garden....but gave up half way through as the motor sounded strange, put the machine down, came back hours later and the thing had actually broken! Don't quite know how, but it means I have a half-done lawn, oops! At least it's half done.....

    3. Saw some steam engines at a local pub gearing up for the influx of visitors.

    4. Bumped into a chum and her children and stopped for a quick natter.

    5. Bought a v. cheap lampshade for my bedroom, cba to put it up yet, maybe when I go to bed....?

    6. Lovely email from a chum I've not seen in ages :)

    7. DD and I had a great time in our new paddling pool this afternoon :)

    8. Amazing BBQ with friends, especially enjoyed the banoffee pie nomnomnom.....

    9. Found out that a chum has finally managed to buy a house in the village with her family, really pleased as they've been looking for ages and were despairing of ever finding somewhere.

Oooh it's Tuesday morning here and just about to head out to work ....but I've just done (polishes halo) 30 minutes stepping on wii fit whilst watching casualty ....what multi-tasking!!

    Monday pleasures:

    Work was okay!

Took a phone call from school , some wee nyaff had shone a laser pen in DD2 eye! This was 2 hours after she'd sent me a text so realised it wasn't dreadfully urgent!! However went to optician who kindly checked her out as her eye was still a bit sore. Turns out she had a superficial corneal scratch which will heal by today......probably due to rubbing said eye after getting light shone in it! Pleasure was the prompt treatment and kindness form optometrist!

Then had to buy a whole load of stuff for her blooming production! Anyway managed to get most of it in one of the cheaper shops.....all the while knowing I could have picked it all up in Primarche for £ 20!.....the pleasure she might stop nagging me about it now!!

Mince and rtc tatties for tea with rtc sprouts, cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower ! Yum!

Pudding of the most amazing chocolate mousse a customer gave me! Had joked with her about what was on the table ( not bought from my establishment ) so she went back to her office and brought me one! Very delicious !

Husband had an appetite for first time in ages.....ate and ate and ate! May it continue for more than one day! He is so underweight so can afford to eat and eat and eat!!

Righty ho, had better go and start the day! Hope you all had a nice bank 'oliday!

    Evening

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Trip to Kingston for some shopping with DD, wish her legs would stop growing. Got most things she needed in Primark so not too bad (sorry Mhagster)
    2. Fancied an ice-cream and a drink so popped into Waitrose and bought a box of ice-creams and a couple of cold drinks on SO, spent £2.50 on both :money:. It did mean we had to have an ice-cream each and share the last one in the box though, very naughty but yummy
    3. Put washing out this afternoon and still managed to get it dry.
    4. Sat for a pleasant hour or so in the garden this afternoon
    5. Once I finally got my bottom in gear to do something constructive got a chicken cooked for packed lunches and a batch of breakfast muffins plus made dinner.

Hugs to all who need them

MHags - that's horrible about the laser pen. Weirdly, a month or 2 back, I was driving back from swimming (in the dark) and thought a few times that there was a blue light flashing behind me, like a police car. My brother could see it too but there was no one there, it was most unnerving. Then a car came tearing up behind me and it was some youths with some sort of laser pen - we could tell when they pointed it at road signs.

Here are my pleasures for today.

    1) Not a bad sleep. Accidentally left the alarm set even though it was a bank holiday!

    2) Spent a couple of very busy hours in the garden finishing off my new strip of flowerbed. Very pleased with it. Need some parsley and don't know whether to plant a row of lettuce in it or something else.

    3) Made a loaf of chocolate bread that no one likes but me....

    4) Went to the park with sons and had an ice cream. It got up to 25 degrees for a while this afternoon.

    5) Went to mum and dad's so bigger son could do his DT homework. He had to descrive a "process" from beginning to end with photos so we had mum holding up some fleece, posing with her spinning wheel and pretending to knit! Also took a photo of a random sheep as the bottle fed one had had a big feed and gone to sleep somewhere and we couldn't find her.

    6) Big curry for tea.

    7) Going to have a nice cup of tea now and find out what the chocolate bread is like when it is toasted. :-)

That's good news mhags. Many pile-'em-high clean plates to OH.
Your daughter was lucky - what a dangerous thing to do!

    1. Truly sunny day.
    2. Reach Fair...and I was almost good. Only 6 books from the 2nd-handies in the Chapel, one of which I half read during the afternoon. Should finish it shortly in bed.
    3. Someone tickled my bare foot. I was propped up against a hay bale. It was S from our Charity - not seen for many months. He's fought and, against all odds, won against the Big C, which attacked his liver and pancreas and lungs over 2years ago. His survival and recovery are miraculous and he looked really well. Photo taken of us together, which will go into current post for long-hauler.
    4. Walked slowly back along Devil's Dyke[cars are banned from well over a mile off on Fair day. That's part of the charm] Skylarks heard and seen, hypnotic waft of wild blossom and hawthorn. Munched last apple as I went. All was good.
    5. Back here, amazed at daisy blanket since last week's 1st mow, so quickly did neighbour's again. T. came out, again with difficulty. Didn't mow back, as his bunnies are making fine work of it as they're moved about - and manuring as they go, which I do not.
    6. Should be over Dartford crossing this time tomorrow:j. Oye-Plage, j'arrive!
Fingers crossed for Thursday Spits again.
    7. Seeds started - bean, pea. Re-potted a saved 5p Waitrose basil, now lush foot-high bushiness, into 8 pots. It's taken about a month on kitchen windowsill to recover and I am hugely pleased. Basil is my drug of choice; bury my face in it whenever I can.

Village PO first thing tomorrow for la famille Frith, whose huge sleep has been duly noted. Well done Mister New Mattress:D:T!

Bed - goody. Book - ditto.
    Night all.
