sparrer I read that as a balaclava!!

Listening to radio 2 as I type, having listened to a cd of the Corries , whilst I tidied up before , chatted with another Scottish customer for 20 mins after work .....does not help that home sickness feeling! I am happy here but do miss my friends!

Anyway, of course Hurrah for Friday ! Busy day at work and was so glad to get finished ....even though I sat on and had a blether!

One of girls at work gave me a book to read, so will read that over the weekend.

Came home to an empty house ( briefly) and enjoyed the solitude, cd on and downstairs is tidy :) , bathrooms done, kitchen done, floors hoovered and washed. Had a load of towels out on line. It is so windy that they had a good blow. I knew they wouldn't dry in the time available before getting dark , however they are just damp rather than soaking. Another load on the clothes horse.....now I will be envious of you getting your washing out on the line whilst mine hangs limply on a clothes horse!

Yesterday girls and I swept up all the leaves on the drive ( under a huge tree) .....came home today and you would never have known! Loads more on the ground! Took some lovely photos of the girls jumping in the leaves.

Had a lovely dinner last night of tacos and salad. Was very yummy.
    Possibly takeaway tonight.

Loads and loads of parrots on the grass at carpark this morning and then about 50 of them flew up in front of me! Love them!

    That's me! Have a lovely day :)

Ha ha yes I can understand that. Might have been better if I'd spelled it properly, baklava, but too tired to do spell check last night. That's my excuse anyway ;)
Speaking of which, I won't be having it with my afternoon cuppa because it's gone. Vanished. How can a cake just disappear into thin air (or fat tum) at breakfast time? It's a mystery
BoP Nowt wrong with Floyd :p
Yellow heater is on outside so might stretch to a bit of gardening for a change. Happy Friday :)

    Morning

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Got myself organised yesterday morning and voted before work and still got to work early to set up a meeting.
    2. Meeting venue 2 doors away from our office worked well and as I had to keep going between the two buildings meant I got a bit of exercise in.
    3. Drink with friend in a pub by the river at lunchtime, we both needed a break from the office so was very nice.
    4. Dinner with friends after work, had vouchers so very reasonable and good company.
    5. DD has got some babysitting work for tonight and the nursery where she is doing her placement want to offer her a temporary contract for the holidays so will be some money for her and some good work experience for her :j. The nursery gave her a glowing report to her college placement officer so she is very pleased.

Hugs to all who need them

Thinking of Pink Floyd in concert Earls Court 1980.
Does anyone worry about things ... Pathetic!

Sorry popped back in because every radio station is on about the Mud Rats or blooming Scampton Wallahs. Arrrgh

Puts on Pink Floyd, Not Now John from The Final Cut. Come at the end of the shift, we'll go and get p155ed.

Well at least DD can take my post as proof of a non PC bearded one! on her curse!

    1. Sunshine :)

    2. DD and I ate icecream (diet starts tomorrow ;) ) and she played in the park whilst I made a new chum, lol.

    3. Yummy pizza from the freezer (makes a change from freezer surprise!) and YS mixed salad for dinner.

    4. Managed to resist "bargains" at a sale at work, they were very bargainous goodies, but I didn't NEED any of them (off to polish my halo now ha ha ha)

    5. Have called my old primary school and booked DD and I in for a visit in June and have formally applied for a place for her for September.....which of course if I don't get into Uni2, or do suddenly find a winning lottery ticket down the back of the sofa or whatever, will be cancelled and we'll stay where we are. But, it'll be nice to see the place I went to school from 1975 to 1982!

    6. Looking forward to a lovely weekend, we have socialising and chilling out planned, hopefully a good balance of the two.

    7. Reading some great chick lit books at the moment, makes a change from murder mysteries, had got into a bit of a rut!

    8. Took DD to the doctor for what we are diagnosing as 'growing pains' but did rule out diabetes as well, and she discovered that she is now as tall as the longest salmon ever caught in the UK! (The doctor has an amazing height chart). DD has gone from the height of a chimpanzee to the length of the longest salmon in a month (1 inch) so we are pretty sure she's got growing pains.... and thankfully doesn't smell of fish! :)

    5) Pub quiz tonight: we're aiming for three wins in a row.

We did it! :j Apparently it's the first time since the quiz started nearly ten years ago that any team has won three weeks in a row.

    sparrer - I love a good [STRIKE]balaclava [/STRIKE]baklava. ;)

    1) More lovely, warm sunshine. smiley-happy005.gif

    2) My bad foot looked a bit yucky again last time I changed the dressing but seems fine today, which, as you can probably imagine, is a great relief!

    3) Defrosted some smoked mackerel for lunch.

    4) I've made some feta cheese parcels, in an attempt to recreate my favourite starter from a local Turkish restaurant, and turned the LO pastry into a banana and toffee parcel for pudding. (Although I perhaps shouldn't put that as a pleasure until they're cooked and I know they've turned out OK.)

    5) Typing this with an accompaniment of marinated olives and a bottle of RTC beer, and feeling very summery. :D

    Have a great evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    CCP Congratulations :T
DD Have a fantastic hollie with not too much swotting
Kittikins sounds like a fun height chart. Pleased your DD has nothing more than growing pains
Tealady well done your DD for the report, and for the nursery offering her a holiday placement

Not sure if I can make 5 as most of today has been spent sleeping. So frustrating when I have a full day out I know the following one will be non-productive. However -

    1. Slept on and off all day without feeling guilty
    2. Postie brought me a nice letter from Mr IR telling me the tax on my pension has gone down this financial year. It's a blooming cheek that worked-for pensions are taxed at all, but have to be thankful for small mercies
    3. Lovely email from friend in Oban with plans for my visit, it sounds like it's going to be pretty full. Unfortunately she confirmed the weather is rubbish there so I'm pleased I bought a 3-in-1 jacket a couple of weeks ago for the occasion.
    4. Chicken salad for dinner with side of hm sweet potato wedges.
    5. nsd/npd
    Made it!

    Sweet dreams :)

    Morning all

Well done Sparrer on making 5 :T It isn't always easy is it?
Well done on getting your paper in DD, mine are always on deadline too! Have a wondrous holiday
    Well done CCP on 3 - in - a - row.

And well done everyone else - for just being you :)

A morning quickie as I'm off to London for lunch with school friends

    1. full of cold caught from blokey in exam room last week, I should think. Not a pleasure. The pleasure is that I managed for most of the day - and OH took over when I'd had enough.
    2. Lunch with friend (my life seems to be one long lunch :D)
    3. Lemon and ginger tea with honey and cinnamon to help with my cold (there, you don't get much more OS than that!)
    4. salmon for tea, with cauliflower cheese - an unusual combination but lovely comfort food
5 Benedict Cumberbatch on Graham Norton

    Have a nice day all
I wanna be in the room where it happens
