    Morning all

Welcome back chicken, and many belated happy returns  THought you were having a few days off - shame that something went ping! Get you being chatted up in the street = i fear my days of that happening are behind me (I'm not sure they were ever in front or beside me :D)
    WElcome, Lovefullshelves
Well done Skint - something of a relief, I imagine
Good luck with the viewing, Kittikins

YEsterdays pleasures - given that I spent 4 hours in the car yesterday doing a round trip of 70 miles, it's going to be a challenge

    1. Scary meeting was OK, even I thought I knew what I was talking about. it was in a beautiful and unusual place and my eyes were opened somewhat to where my education could take me. In the first instance though, I am going to do a couple of teaching sessions for them which means more money in the big holiday fund.
    2. Called in at a lovely garden centre come nursery come organic farm shop come deli on the way back. Wish I'd been more in the mood cos it was right up my street but I can go again when i go to do the teaching.
    3. The garden got some rain on it which made everything greener.
    4. Winding DS up - he is quite good for a laugh these days.
    5. out for a girls night at the local pub - nice food and good chat.

Have a pleasant day all - i'm doing yet more marking.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Evening all, and a belated happy birthday to Chicken! :)

    1) Sold all my strawberry plants. :j I'm now thinking about growing some extra plants of other types next year and selling the excess at work. :money:

    2) Strawberry proceeds will pay for me to get a taxi to the pub quiz tonight, as the weather's foul. :(

    3) Picked up a RTC sausage roll at lunchtime which will make an excellent quick dinner before I go out.

    4) Friday tomorrow! :D

Hmm, I think that's about it - it means I've got an extra pleasure in reserve to use another day, I suppose. ;)
Back after a very long break!

Hello again I am pondering back, our few days away were an absolute disaster, a long storey very short, 2 off our animals a ferret and a cat, passed away on Saturday, devastated.. We were knocked sideways and gutted and then 180 miles away from home bumped into ex's . But I''m starting to feel er sort of sane I guess again.

Belated Birthday wishes lovely Chicken :bdaycake:

Spoilt DH on his birthday yesterday all pressies a hit, pub dinner and countryside drive during the day, worked hard to try and buck us both up.

Work was not great but done.

Downloaded a fantastic new kindle book that I am finding hard to put down, called Cross Stitch, at 900 pages it was def. a kindle read. and its fantastic.:)

Pizza for dinner left over from a BOGOF so extreme laziness.:o

    Good evening all !

PK - I am sorry to hear about your pets :( Thank you for the virtual cake xx

VJsmum - I bet you can still pull :D

CCP - flogged your strawberry plants - well done you:T

    5 for today

    1. Work is getting on my t*ts .But hey ho I am off tomorrow.

    2. Lovely colleague organised a cake for me , which was made by another colleague . It was a hen house with hens sitting on top of it and around it and of course eggs. It was fab. and admired by many.

3.Took the cake home and shared with my Aunt who has a birthday tomorrow. It tasted lovely too.

4.OH had done all of the washing which was a joy to see flapping violently on the line .

    5. Stephen the Seagull has got Stevette ,his girlfriend up the duff and they are living in sin in the chimney pots of the house opposite mine. I keep seeing their little heads bobbing up and down and yep, Stevette has just popped down for some cheese on the hen house roof whilst Big Daddy is minding the nest .Equality eh ; )

have a lovely evening all !

PK - sorry to hear about your pets. :-(

Excitment here thanks to Ampersand. :-) Smaller son saw his new duvet cover and went to bed as soon as he got in from school! (He watched iplayer on the laptop). He hasn't slept in his own bed since last year but is planning to tomorrow. (Apparently is has to be a weekend!) The stars are also in situ - on the ceiling and on the slats of the top bunk so smaller son can see them when he is in the bottom bunk.

Here are my pleasures for today:

    1) My friend had her baby last night! It was another long job ending in an emergency C section. She hadn't been very well (that's why she was induced) and the baby is still in nicu with a lung infection. He is breathing by himself now and will hopefully be able to feed tomorrow. Scary stuff.

    2) Picked up my new swimming costume.

    3) House reasonably clean and tidy. Washing machine on and bread cooking as I type.

    4) Went swimming with sons and my brother (smaller son got out of bed for that).

    5) Sister had put in an offer on a new house.

    That's it! Quiet day today.

Hugs PK, sorry for the loss of your lovelies x

Chicken - belated happedy burfday hon, and WOW, your cake sounds amazing! I don't suppose anyone took a picture before you attacked it with a cake knife did they? x

Have a second person lined up to view the house for Saturday, but I just want to make the house really messy and horrible so they won't want it :( Sure it'll feel better once the first viewing is out of the way......and no news from Uni2 so that's getting me down as well :(

    Oh well.....

    1. Reverbe'd 1p, every little helps ;):)

    2. DD :)

    3. Sunshine

    4. Picked up some great books at the library this afternoon

    5. OH has bought us tickets to go and see a fab comedian next month

chicken your cake sounds lovely...hopefully tasty too!
PK sad news about your animals
kittikins it's such a shame that you have to move but hopefully it will all go smoothly!

well hurrah for a Friday off work....that has to be the best kind of Friday!

Haircut yesterday so still sitting nicely today....slight panic when hairdressers phoned to say my usual stylist was off sick but the girl who cut it was lovely!

Watched Holby yesterday ....a to be continued I think frith?

this morning, well I just didn't have to get up for work...though did wake early but stayed in bed.

today I have pottered about...hoovered, washed and ironed, all beds stripped as it's been a very pleasant day! bathrooms cleaned and it means I don't have to tidy over the weekend.

I went to the library and got a couple of books and DVDs.

Then had a mooch around 2 of the 3 charity shops in our tiny town.
Bought 3 nice tops which will do nicely for work.

Bought a nice cake just for me at one of the 3 bakers shops in our tiny town!!

A new drama series started 2 weeks ago on Sunday night but as it's on at the same time as Call The Midwife I had missed it....so delighted that it was on repeat this afternoon....hung out washing loads and ironed and did bathrooms during the ad breaks!

swept and swept the fallen leaves on the driveway.....as the tree continued to mock me by dropping them as quick as I could sweep 'em!! no doubt I'll go out tomorrow to the same ! However , I've put them in a pile and will use them for mulch for the garden.

so a most pleasant day...haven't missed work....left plenty of instructions and no emergency phone calls! But I am glad I have a job...don't think I could handle being off everyday! Once in a while is a nice way to appreciate work!!

we are having an unexpected warm spell so I've had windows and doors open and lots of fresh air in the house. Back to chilly on Monday though!

    Have a lovely day :)

    Morning all

PK - so sorry about your pets
    CCP - 4 in a row?
Frith / Ampersand - how lovely for your son to get his duvet and what a nice story. There are still good people in the world
Kittikins - I feel for you having to sell the house
Mhags - my dad has a thing about the word "pottered", but I think it is quite a nice thing to do
    Chicken - I have my moments! ;):D

    For yesterday
    1. Worked at home, so did OH but got loads done and he did 2 school runs.
    2. As well as marking I baked bread, made mediterranean veg casserole, a sticky toffee pudding, and did 2 loads of washing and cleaned the bathrooms.
    3. OH and I went for a walk in the afternoon
    4. DD finally got to see the star trek film she's been looking forward to for 4 years!
    5. Spoke to my sis. She seemed v. cheerful even as she told me that there's no point in them having marriage counselling as she's "done with it now". :(

Off in the Caravan for the weekend. Have a good one all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Morning

PK - (((Hugs))) sorry about the pets
Kittikins - I hope the house selling process won't be too painful for you.

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Better day at work
    2. Made the effort to make packed lunches and breakfasts for everyone.
    3. Yummy dinner of SO gammon, SO potatoes, veg, yorkies and gravy. Little bit of gammon left for OH lunch today, only because I hid it from DD.
    4. Was feeling [STRIKE]very[/STRIKE] slightly hormonal last night so had some evening primrose washed down with a glass or two of Prosseco. Felt quite mellow by bed time :D

Hugs to all who need them
