Evening all. I hope this works - I'm posting on my phone as my computer has decided to have a complete melt-down - there's no life at all, which is deeply frustrating as I'm stuck at home and use it as a tv and radio as well as a computer.
I'm going to have to get someone out to look at it tomorrow - more expense.
mhagster - it's great to hear from you.
VJsmum - that's great news about the tickets. :j
ampersand - could your butterfly be a brimstone? I hope so as my DM was telling me the other day that the species is really struggling this year.
1) Managed to get a half-decent signal on my clock-radio to listen to the grand prix coverage, then watched the highlights on my phone, so I didn't have to do without my beloved F1 cars entirely.
2) Defrosted some smoked salmon for a nice lunch.
3) A much-needed chat on the phone to my DM, as my health problems and now computer problems have left me feeling rather.
Sadly I think that's about it for today - hopefully I'll feel better after my GP appointment tomorrow.Back after a very long break!0 -
Big hugs CCP, sometimes a call to our lovely mummies is just what the doctor ordered. Hope tomorrow is brighter for you x0

CCP it’s a conspiracy, :eek:my laptop keeled over as well, I tried to post via the TV but it took about an hour to get anywhere let alone post using the on screen keyboard.
Welcome back Ampbersand sounds like some lovely trips to look forward to.
I am going to be MIA for a little bit, as I have just borrowed DH’s laptop to post, mine sighed and decided it was to far out of guarantee to work at all anymore, DH took it apart and it’s terminal for the cost of repairing it, we will get another. The problem is some important things on there so now we are looking to saving things on a “cloud” as I’ve lost a lot of information that is going to be problematic. Hey ho.
It’s been one of those lovely weekends barring the expense coming up of the new lappy.
A wonderful street grocer so lots of fresh fruit and veg
A charity shop hawl of pet bowls, a mug, the books I have been looking for Stoneywelde series for 50p each, a fanastic book called the campervan coast for 70p packed full of information and other bits and pieces.
Car boot today provided some electrical bits for DH and a cut glass that I bought as it is identical to one my mum used to have.
The house is cleaner than it was from top to bottom, as I am doing things without the lap top!:rotfl:
Cakes have been cooked, there has been casseroles, and home made burgers,.:D:D
When we went to Mr T we seemed to luck out and the only item that was full price were the eggs as they have to be free range, I am very proud of my tub of Hagen daz for 55p I didn’t question it I just took it, it seemed to be hidden in with other frozen food.:)0 -
Oh what a rotten run of more poops, ccp. I, too, use putah to watch things.
I'm interested to read Martin's article this week re: TV licence. Most that I catch up on is precisely that - catching up, therefore licence-free! - worth investigating more.
Checked out brimstone butterfly too, thankyou. Unsure, wings were longer. Another was out by kerria today - colour co-ordination:).
1. nsd,npd.
2. Lazed in sun, some dozing, but needed blanket. The wind was bitter again and it often clouded over.
3. Watched robins coming and going into that corner. Feel bad disturbing them as I go in and out. The moment I'm indoors, they're off again.
4. Browsed 2 French mags bought Wednesday: Aladdin et Antiquit!s Brocantes. V. useful, contain 3 months of what/where and I am sufficiently pathetic to get a lift even reading the names of places I know. The articles are always interesting and more junk tucks itself into my hunter/gatherer mind.
5. Nat Express tkt bought v. cheaply for le Match next Sunday - qtr petrol cost. Will leave car @P&R - may even see sth at early carboot on site, as I wait:D.
6. At last there is big rain in NZ. It's going to the other extreme, but it's rain.
I'm now going to set the lovely veggies into long slow cooking for ratatouille, which I love.
bop - your jacket and my glove are very happy together in Paris. Let's leave them be.

Hellooooooo
Still very giddy after my Glasto success.
Chicken - your chicken sounds much like the salmon OH and I had for tea. He is enjoying his Hairy Dieters very much and did their salmon in ginger chilli and garlic. Your bottles - are they hung lengthwise with holes cut in the length? (well hung, chortle)
Kittikins - what a lovely day you seem to have had. I've always thought it would be nice to borrow a toddler or small child for the day in order to give them some of the lovely experiences we gave our own two when they were little, now that we can barely get them out into daylight.
PK - i fancy a car boot mooch. Maybe next Sunday.
Ampersand - you've reminded me to ratatouille my aubergine tomorrow (don't know why that sounds a bit rude, but it does:D)
So, for today
1. Glasto tickets - did I mention I'd got them? two hours I sat there - 2 bleedin hours and just before they sold out I got through. Am excited and terrified in equal measure.
2. No hangover :T
3. Yummy salmon for tea
4. OH and I went for a walk after tea, across the fields. T'was nice
5. Hmmm dunno. Erm DD is completely better but tired and DS had a reasonable game of football, even though his team lost.
Night allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Evening
Pleasures for the weekend,
Saturday
1. Menu plan written and re-written to account for OH and DD looking after themselves (to encourage them not to buy takeaway). Came in £6 under budget and included a small birthday cake to take for SIL.
2. Went shopping in the wardrobe for SIL birthday, No.7 box filled with lots of goodies and an No.7 make up bag from DD. All bought at 75% off in January :money:
3. Lunch at SIL of toasted sandwiches followed by birthday cake
4. Bought DD some new trainers for walking in, just need to register us all for the Sunwalk now and get out to do some walking.
5. Little snooze late afternoon
Sunday
1. Felt a bit off colour this morning but after some paracetamol and evening primrose feel much better.
2. Washing dried on the line
3. Batch of breakfast muffins cooked and a chicken roasted for wraps for packed lunches
4. Fridge tidied and cleaned
5. Chocolate ice-cream
hugs to all who need them0 -
Coo, well done on Glasto tickets, VJ'smum.
1. Sunderland win and C. City champs...
2. New steamer...! Will be posting a good review, am obliged not to say more.
3. Progress with my mental health awareness course.
4. Dug out something useless that I had bought from Wilko and never used. It had been recalled so I got a full refund.
5. DS tidied up patio and the weed-ridden strip under the fence that I can no longer manage. Great to see him noticing what needs doing, he wasn't asked.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Pleasures for today written on the phone again.
1. Not a bad sleep.
2. HM bread and marmalade for breakfast.

Looking forward to getting lots of wild garlic tomorrow. Going to make pesto and garlic butter for the freezer.0 -
