VJsmum, your comment about the man wearing ladies shoes has just reminded me of a very scary sight DD and I were confronted with last weekend whilst driving through a town near where my parents live: men walking along dressed only in thongs (and I don't mean Australian flipflops!) doing a sponsored walk to raise money for testicular cancer or something.........scarily, I'm pretty sure I saw an ex-boyfriend strolling along, he's not aged well ;0)0

Good morning all !
VJsmum- That would have tickled me too.
Kittikins - errgh Peter Stringfellow
springs to mind.
Skintos - Poor you - I was on that medication once....made me not quite right in the head..:o
Have a good day all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Morning
Skint - ((Hugs))
Frith - Well done on the job and even better news on the school
Kittikins - I though wandering around in my bra for charity was a scary site but men in thongs ummm
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. NSD
2. Free lunch at work of yummy lasange followed by chocolate brownie and 2 pieces of brownie to take home for OH and DD
3. Boss agreeing to me having some time off next week so can visit my mum on her 70th birthday. Train tickets all booked and the points earned should give me enough to be able to claim a free ticket next time.
4. As off on Monday being able to go the the charity night at my brothers bar to help an amazing little girl, puts things into context that actually I have a great life and am very proud of my family for trying to help.

5. Being thankful for my family being happy and healthy.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Frith excellent news, hope you get the placement you want for younger son
CCP I know what you mean about Kodaline, they're not the happiest of songs, but true
Kittikins re scary pre-work, don't analyse too deeply about it, just be yourself
Skint if you get any side effects please go back for consultation, there are alternatives. On the plus side there's no reason you shouldn't be fine with it
DD well done on completing your month, the fillet steak was well deserved
VJsmum your poor DD, it's an awful illness and I really hope she gets rid of it soon, if not sooner
Tealady it's a cruel world when a little child suffers with such an aggressive disease. As you say it makes you so thankful that even if we get niggling problems we know we're going to survive them. Good for you going along to help out
Comp problems are driving me mad atm so my sympathies to ampersand and Frith, I'm beginning to know how they feel
1. Girlie shopping with DD yesterday

Oooooh. Let me out of my cage and I will bring my first loathes down. Let me at 'em. I see breakfast. Mind me of the Teacher, Educationalist and Social Worker. Put them in a room with only two chairs and no food and water. Argh lovely.
Oh, sorry. Good news Friths!!!!
(Apols to all that work in that area, but I as no going to change now.)
Back home with Ms Wax. She has her wick today. I just could not imagine a tug on the beard.
Going to the beach tomorrow, Southend! To do the rugby.

Despite prolonged argument with Orange and Alcatel on the phone, to the point I have given up and gone back to old handset until I can go in store and rant at them, overall its been quite good!
1) Got an on street parking space near the civic centre
2) Finished work at 2.15
3) Seeing my man tonight
4) Chatted with my mum
5) Does having a glass of wine count? Was on 3 for 2 so is technically the free one....I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D
Trying to find a work life balance...:rotfl:0 -
Evening all.
Kittikins - hugs to you and Miss Kittikins - I hope you both feel happier soon.
Sarah Midland - welcome to the thread. Just a friendly suggestion, though - I'd advise that you take the link to your company out of your signature - advertising isn't allowed and the forum moderators are likely to delete it for you if you don't.
sparrer - I admit I hadn't heard of Kodaline until yesterday - I must go and look up some more of their stuff as I really like that song.
I'm glad I decided to go to the pub quiz last night - we won quite handily, with an unprecedented 4 out of 5 on the sport round.
1) Sunshine, and proper warm sunshine too.
2) Yet another doctor's appointment and things are looking better, but not good enough that I'm likely to be able to get back to work next week - so sort of halfand half
.
3) Decided to try and waterproof the bandage on my foot enough that I could have a shower. It didn't really work but the soggy bandage is worth it for the sake of being clean.
4) Found that I miscalculated the amount of money I needed to get out of my savings account this month and have more than I need, so I'm going to treat myself to a Chinese takeaway tonight before putting the excess money back where it came from.
5) Seagulls squawking overhead - it's a horrible noise really, but so seaside-y it always makes me smile.Back after a very long break!0 -
The evening has got quite a bit better.....
1. Am enjoying a bottle (eek!) of wine that has been lurking in the fridge for a few months......normally I never drink whilst on my own, but tonight I fancied a glass or two. I'm not saying it's cheering me up, just dulling the edges a bit.....
2. DD and I really enjoyed our freezer surprise dinner - but, shock! horror! it was the last of the unidentified dinners in the freezer, I may have to start cooking again.......
3. We had a brilliant game of Monopoly whilst....
4...listening to 60s music (ranging from the Beatles to Janice Joplin to Aretha Franklin to Joe Cocker and other Woodstock faves)as DD's school topic this term is the Swinging Sixties, just 2 years before my time
5. G's daughter came round to invite us over for a takeaway, which would have been lovely had we not already eaten our surprise!
6. 2 out of 3 chums I contacted early this morning to ask favours relating to house sale/uni2 interview have been in touch to arrange fulfilling their offers
7. Ignored call from toxic friend I'm distancing myself from - and didn't feel guilty about it!
8. DD is tucked up in my bed
and........even better.......
9. Just checked my bank account, and woohoo, I have received some tax credits already after my call to them on Monday! Wonder when the paperwork will turn up confirming if this is a weekly or monthly amount (I used to get it weekly, the only 'benefit' I've ever had of being a single parent is being able to have weekly rather than monthly tax credits......)0
