This might be a muddled post - there's too much going on at the moment! Am at mum and dad's so using a laptop instead of struggling to write using my phone.

    First off, pleasures for yesterday.

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Builder getting on well. Has rebuilt the really dodgy bits of wall and replaced the tiled parts where the chimney slopes outside. Lots of complicated stuff done with lead flashing. No wonder it leaked so much before - there was no waterproofing at all!

    3) Popped to Sainsburys.

    4) Met my friend for a cup of tea.

    5) Sons home from school happily.

    6) Watched the International Space Station go overhead while sons and MrN's son5 played football underneath!

And now the really good news....

    7) A month or so ago, I chose smaller son 6 possible schools to go to for when he leaves his short stay school (with a shortlist of 3). Then every school turned him down. Special Services at the County Council were quite feeble and asked me to go out and choose another 6 schools. (Obviously, where we live, even the first 6 schools included some that were 40 minutes drive away so another 6 schools would include some 20+ miles away).

I wasn't terribly impressed with this as son has a full statement of SEN and therefore should get in just about anywhere. So I didn't rush to make appointments with any new schools but thought I would wait for his diagnosis (next Tuesday) and his short stay school got very cross and said they would look into it....

Cue several phone calls from his headteacher over the last few days. She said she is phoning Special Services "every day" to put pressure on them. Yesterday, she phoned to say SS have done a massive U turn and I can choose my favourite 3 schools and smaller son will get a place in one of them!

So I have spent this morning on the laptop at mum and dad's going through all the Ofsted report and other information again, refreshing my memory. There is an outstanding school about 9 miles away which I haven't looked at yet so I have got an emergency appointment there at 2 this afternoon.

Just got to phone son's headteacher now to reassure her I WILL give her the 3 school names today, but not until about 3pm!

Apart from that, got to get the cash out for the builder. Hope it stops raining long enough for him to get it all done today.

Will now have a catch up on everyone else's posts. :-)

Kittikins - very good news about Uni!

CCP - what a silly consultant. I had a health professional say that I should look into going to church to help with my ptsd. Hmmm.

Ampersand - hope you're having a lovely time.

    Evening all.

Frith - that's great news about the school.

    1) Long lie-in this morning, although I hope the doctor says I can go back to work next week as I'm getting to the stage now where I'm bored of having not much to do except sleep, eat and read. :undecided

    2) Completed a rather long-winded music survey which at least introduced me to a rather lovely song I'd never come across before (High Hopes by Kodaline - don't watch the video if you're in a  mood, though!).

    3) Worked out how to do a software update on my phone, as the reminder has been annoying me for the past few days.

    4) Pizza for dinner tonight, bought on a BOGOF deal so technically a free dinner.

    5) I probably shouldn't but I'm going to go the pub quiz tonight - I'm just bored now, as I may have mentioned!
Back after a very long break!

    7. Going out tonight.

Does sound a bit like that dunnit :o He liked them anyway.:T
    Frith - excellent news
Poor you, Skint - hope things start to look up soon
DD - fillet steak and red wine, is it Friday?:D

Well we are a house of disease today. DD has norovirus :( she woke us up at 4.30 to say she'd been being sick since 1.00. So I have had little sleep since then. She is very poorrly though and has been languid on the sofa all day - though hasn't chucked since 10.00. horrid, horrid thing.

    So for today

    1. So far I haven't got norovirus (touch wood)
    2. OH liked his pressies
    3. teaching session was ok
    4. bacon and egg (or Begg in this house) for tea - but I am still hungry
    5. Hmm - I will borrow one from yesterday that I forgot about (dunno how) - the sight of a man in TK macs trying on a pair of bright pink high heeled wedge sandals and then telling anyone around that he was doing a charity walk for battered women :rotfl:(the :rotfl: LOL is for the sight not the charity, obvs) and waving a leaflet around to prove it (it's a good idea "walk a mile in her shoes"). "How do you walk in these?" he said "I don't" said I and gave him a pair of trainers "these are what i'd walk in" :D
I wanna be in the room where it happens
