All, the fraught was there!!Sadly too true!
sparrer - I'm glad Ying's bearing up - let's hope the treatment does what's promised.
ampersand - look after yourself!
Skint - fingers crossed everything works out OK for your DS.
I've had a lousy day today - the weather's miserable, work was dreadful, and I've got a rather sick mog on my hands.
1) The vet's surgery is open late on a Thursday so I was able to speak to the nice vet nurse, who doesn't think the problem is so serious that mog needs to be taken in straightaway, but has promised to make an appointment if he's no better by tomorrow. That's a pleasure of sorts, I suppose.
2) Heard back from the company which made my little greenhouse - the one which broke a few days ago - and, having originally said they believed it to be practically unbreakable, have now admitted that the exact same thing has happened to their display model, so they're sending me a replacement roof FOC. :T
3) LO sausage stew for lunch.
4) I've got no appetite tonight so my 'dinner' is a small bowl of salted peanuts and a glass of apple juice. Odd but nice!
5) Having debated it backwards and forwards I think I'm going to venture out to the pub quiz tonight - there's not much I can do for mog tonight even if I'm here, and being with friends will stop me sitting here worrying about him.
Hope everyone else has had a better day than mine!Back after a very long break!0 -

CCP, hope tomorrow is better.
I woke up feeling absolutely dreadful, sent an email to work, took some painkillers and went back to bed too sleep till 11, when I woke feeling better than I did.
1. Reckon the rescue chap will be staying he’s just walked right in and gets on with the other chaps, will have to name him now.:p
2. Looking into places for next weekend away, and found a lovely all you can eat buffet Cantonese place.
3. The seeds growing on the window still are growing, very very slowly, 10 tomato plants and about 17 pepper plants, hmmm if they all provide that’s a lot to be shared.:j
4. Popped over the bridge to Costco, for an offer.
5. Saving the 5th pleasure for tomorrow, lol just can’t think of one just now.0 -
So tired tonight. Here are my pleasures for today...
1) Survived the dentist unscathed. No fillings since the one I had done at 19. Not bad at my age.
2) Bigger son wanted to see smaller son's school so dropped smaller son off first. Bigger son suitably impressed by the tiny size of the school and the 4 pupils there today! Not impressed that I gesticulated about something and managed to accidentally smack him in the bridge of the nose! Much staggering about with his eyes watering. The school secretary looked a bit shocked.
3) Dropped bigger son off at school without any further incident.
4) Brother babysat and took them swimming while I went to parent evening.
5) Parent evening a roller coaster ride! About a third of the teachers had a bit of a moan about his attitude and constant talking in class. Two thirds think he is absolutely marvellous. The drama teacher (a young Gyles Brandreth) was very enthusiastic. 2 worked out which child would be mine without having to ask.0 -
ampersand wishing you better now, do take care
Kittikins the library sessions sound lovely, didn't have them when my DC were small of course. How sweet the little girl remembered your name
skint hope all goes well for your DS, good luck for his interview and sorting out his leaving date
chicken give the boss time to come round to the idea, then keep dropping little hints about how much you achieve in so little time
BoP does Mrs BoP miss you as much as you miss her? I'm sure she finds it very quiet without you
CCP every good wish for your little mog, they do like to worry us, don't they?! Hope it's nothing too bad and he's more perky in the morning
nuttybabe a few of us use the £shop hair dye, it's absolutely fine. I'd suggest a good oil or conditioner treatment afterwards though as I find it a little drying. Thanks to chicken I've learned I need only use 1/2 a box on my short hair, so only costs 50p a time. I like cheap
villagelife good to hear about you planting already, I thought it might be a bit cold still but doesn't seem to stop us once we get down to it
PK pleased you're feeling better than you were, feel 100% better now. Another keen gardener, sounds like you're well ahead of me
Frith oh dear poor bigger son! Hope he hasn't got a bruise and tells everyone you thwacked him
1. had my first of 3 facial treatments, reporting no change. Of course!
2. lovely little girl gave my arms a nice massage while the face mask was on. (She should have left it, it was much smoother than what was under it ha ha)
3. enjoyed a pork loin chop and sautee'd cabbage for dinner
4. Postie brought me a doggie 'deodorant', and two hand towels to trial
5. just managed to get this finished before the forums close for maintenance at 12.30am. Phew!
Sweet dreams0 -

Morning
Chicken - I have signed up for the E45 as well. Am liking doing the bzz stuff as seem to be getting quite a few things to trial for them lately.
Frith - When I was younger my dad did something similar to me and I finished up with a black eye. I had great fun telling people my dad had done it, I think he paid me off in the end to stop telling people:D
PK - Hope you feel better today
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Lunch at my favourite noodle bar but seems lots of people have now discovered it as well as the place which is quite small was packed, nice to see a small business doing so well.
2. Meal plan and shopping list done ready for next week
3. Completed another online survey so more vouchers due in the post soon
4. Being able to help out a very polite young french student with his bus fare. He only had a £10 note and the bus driver was being an !!!!! saying he should have the correct money and would get a £50 fine it an inspector got on. I just gave him the 2.20 for his fare as could see he was getting quite upset. He was very thankful. People have helped out my DD when she has lost her phone before so nice to be able to pay it back,
5. We had our Friends of Guiding AGM lots of yummy cakes for the cake stall. I bought a few to bring home so will enjoy them later with a cup of tea. Hopefully a bit of money raised to help the girls with various equipment and activities over the next year and will be able to get matched funding of another £150 from work.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Morning - snow here and my washing line has blown down
Tealady - how nice of you to help the student
Chicken - give him a while and he'll think it was his idea all along
BoP - so glad you said kitty :rotfl:
Sparrer - half a box???? I need two..
Frith - it's always a bit like that on my DS's parents' evening. The art teacher would say he's one of the most disruptive students ever (well she would if we went to see her but DS won't let us ), history thinks he's fab, maths thinks he's improving, German says he struggles but is keen and Graphics said he could do better. English just talked about my DD and when I said how much my DD loved her, the teacher said "I know!"
So yesterday;s
1. Feeling a little under the weather - the pleasure is I got through the day, though I did cut my afternoon session short
2. Coffee and a [STRIKE]bitc[/STRIKE] natter with colleagues
3. OH had prepared tea and I just had to finish it off for DS and me - wasn't that exotic just Jacket spud beans and cheese, but it's my fave comfort food and I usually pop and ping something of a thursday
4. Watched the syndicate, still knitting - nearly finished my woolly pully just in time for spring
5. Bed with 2 hot water bottles, early.
Have a warm safe day chaps.I wanna be in the room where it happens0
