Been a busy weekend as OH 40th birthday so lots of celebrating. Not very OS but used lots of MSE tips to make it affordable and all costs planned in to a budget:money:.
Mine for the last couple of days in no particular order:
    1. Lovely family day out on Saturday to a lovely restaurant and the theatre. We all had a great time and harmony ruled all day.
    2. OH being very impressed with all his presents. I bought 40 ( I know this sounds over the top but some were very small ones and it did put a smile on his face)
    3. Family meal with OH family on Sunday which was really nice and had free champagne. Mil enjoying lots of champagne, she is usually driving so doesn't indulge very often.
    4. Everyone enjoying the HM birthday cake I made for OH. Chocolate and Orange and as took to the restaurant we didn't buy dessert:rotfl:
    5. Peaceful couple of hours yesterday as DD went ice skating with a friend

Must get ready to go to work now. Hugs to all who need them especially Acey. Scotrae enjoy your first day in your new job.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Acey. I know we're all thinking of you and your family. Hugs to you all.
Back after a very long break!
  • Acey - I know I don't know you but just wanted to add my sympathies. Grandmas are special people that leave a legacy with us. xx

Alison - how lovely that your OH is good at bread-making :T.

Ollie - I am very lucky that the mr is from a baking family. His grandfather was a baker and his mum learnt from him and has made almost every loaf/roll ever eaten in their house ( except a few due to ill health) and taught him. He has a new BM and has developed a brilliant recipe for it that can be found in the MR fastbake thread under Grendel (a nickname he has had since school). So the problem for the moment is not over indulging. :D:o
    Put the kettle on. ;)

Reverbe - sounds like your flatmate's ex no long wants to be an 'ex' - either that or she's 'after something'

I dont think so. They have always been friends and they have been exes now for over 13 years. She has had many boyfriends on the go since then. In fact i can never keep up. Flatmates not really interested in that sort of thing either...
