Good evening all
Here's my 5 for today.
1. No work!:j
2. Nice lie in this morning, got up to get DS ready for school then went back to bed until 11 just reading and napping, lovely.
3. Lovely lunch of leftover HM pizza with YS Jamie Oliver salad and sauce (5p) and cheap cheery toms from l@dl half price weekend.
4. Off to pick up DNephew for ON stay as DSister recovering from foot surgery and needs a break. Nice to have a toddler around, only part time though
5. Making HM cauliflower cheese for supper with YS cauli and some YS leeks thrown in too, yummy.
Have a great evening all.:j Good things come to those who coupon. :j

Evening all.
After a weekend spent gallivanting around Portsmouth in the snow (well, sort of - it was that really fine snow that looks as though someone has knocked over a giant box of icing sugar), I'm back with some pleasures:
1) Mog threw up a furball in the early hours of this morning, but was considerate enough to do so on the door mat, which can just be thrown in the washing machine.
2) I made a bread pudding yesterday, to get rid of a stale loaf of bread, and had a slice for breakfast this morning.
3) A quiet day at work: by 4 o'clock I was just waiting for responses from various people so spent an hour or so fiddling around on a well-known travel website planning places to go when my foot's finally better and it no longer hurts to walk.
4) Realised just as I was about to leave work that my GP appointment is tomorrow, not today, saving myself the considerable embarrassment of turning up on the wrong day.
5) Easy dinner tonight of HM curry from the freezer and some coconut rice from a packet. I'd planned it on the basis that I might be in pain and in no mood for cooking after the doctor's appointment, but it will still be nice under normal circumstances.
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Small collection:-
1. My DS got the new job he went for in an internal interview the other week. He starts on the 11th of next month. :j:j:j:j
2. I'd completely forgotten about the freebies on Amazon Vine last week - free items that I get sent to review. I logged in expecting to find I'd missed something fantastic but the two items I wanted were still available.
A lovely Babyliss hot air brush - my current one is a cheapo, under a third as powerful as this one. Also the follow up book to midwife Linda Fairley's first autobiography, which was a really good read.
3. Had a glass of wine at home for the first time in months and really enjoyed it. A light Italian rose, not too sweet, with a fruity bite to it.
4. Got a learner on the phone to set his learning plan so that will be another chunk on the invoice for this month. Have already been paid for last month, 2 weeks earlier than usual.
5. Tried out the expensive conditioner I got for £1 in £land and it was heavenly.
Sparrer, I checked the ingredients of my ersatz £land Bio Oil and they bear no resemblence to the real one. However, the base oil is sweet almond with evening primrose added, so a good oil anyway, hopefully.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
VJsmum well done on the NSD.
PK you dont sound well enough to be back at work (sorry tell me to mind my own business)Chickenopolis wrote: »Skintos - A golden egg would be more useful !
nah.....Would probably break me teeth on it
CCP - hope doc can sort your foot out tomorrow
Boring and unproductive day heredidnt sleep well despite all the pills, feel exhausted and I'm back at work tomorrow
1. grey day but dry and windy so got some towels and sheets on line for a blow, and finished off on airers tonight
2. car does not need another new tyre.
Garage 1 did my MOT and service in october car passed its MOT but they gave me an advisory to get new front tires soon
Garage 2 were cheaper for tyres so took car for 2 new tyres in December before my xmas journey up m25/m1. They insisted I needed a back tyre as well, but on further questioning they admitted the back tyre was still legal just worn on inner side so I declined their offer and just had the front ones changed.
Garage 1 had a look today and said that whilst the back tyre was wearing on the inside it was still legal and they thought garage 2 were just trying to get me to pay out for another tyre
3. DS got home from college early so I lounged around and watched tv with him instead of doing the ironing
4. nice spag bol for tea and have used less mince to try and make food go further. I am sure we eat too much meat.
5. looking forward to my bed tonight, and the fresh smell of clean sheets

Hi Skint, that's alright, I agree
, I am considering plodding back to the doc as I think I should be feeling a lot better by now. I am taking it as easy as I possibly can and have been approved for a couple of working from home days I know it's still working but without the commute makes a big difference.
The doctors sent me a shirty letter today saying I missed an appointment, yet I missed it because they sent me into hospital - numpties!:rotfl:0 -

(((Hugs))) going back to docs is probably a good idea, its easy for us all to put a brave face on things and try to carry on but easy to overdo things and make yourself worse. Hope the few days homeworking helps x0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Evening
McCulloch - Well done to your DS :j:j
PK - Please take it easy and look after yourself
Pleasures for today,
1. NSD after the weekend just as well
2. Packed lunches and breakfast for everyone using HM bread and a HM cake for all.
3. Another friend had a little boy today, seems to be babies everywhere at the moment
4. The yummiest beef casserole with Yorkshire Puddings for dinner. Threw the beef and veggies in the slow cooker this morning before work so all ready to serve when got in. Apple crumble just warming in the oven now to finish off naughty but nice.
5. DD being positive about college work and getting lots of help from learning support. It makes such a difference when the right help is in place for her, am very impressed by the college.
Hugs to all who need them0 -

Hello everybody!
Well done, McCulloch's DS :T
PK - get yersen to the quacks.
For today
1. DS was well enough to go to school. He has a cold and possibly something "throaty" but seemed happy to go which saved my bacon work-wise
2. Last Monday work. They will have to beg me to do another this side of September - especially as I don't get paid. It was alright, but both groups needed a rocket up 'em
3. Jacket spud with small portion of chilli for tea.
4. Banana bread in the oven
5. OH and I watched the end of Calendar Girls that we started last night. Love that film.
Yawning my head off again - back in hibernation mode, i think
Night allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
CCP & PK take care of yourselves, hope you're feeling better soon.
mcculloch congrats to DS!
My five for today;
1. Work meeting in neighbouring town tomorrow which I'm really excited about (sad I know) I love the work I do for the consultation group and it is always a pleasure to do a face to face meeting rather than emailing back and forth. Plus, I get some reading time on the train- I love travelling.
2. House is spick and span, had a mad cleaning session this morning.
3. Had a soak in the bath and opened a sachet of posh body lotion for afterwards- I smell amazing if I do say so myself!
4. OH has just got glasses and he came in looking a bit Clark Kent and I actually swooned :happyhear
5. Made a lovely pasta bake from freezer oddments, felt like I'd conjured something out of nothing, great sense of achievementComper, Blogger & OS-erCompetition prizes: £6/£20150
