  • katholicos.... your doggie looks a real sweetie, very mischevious twinkle in her eye ;)

Chicken... blue eggs, I take it thats the shell ... let me know if you come across a hen that lays chocolate eggs :p

Bit of a funny old day today. Didnt take the amitriptyline and woke at 4am with back & neck ache. Took co-codamol but couldnt get back to sleep. Then I've been a bit weepy this afternoon not sure whats going on, must be hormonal ! Anyway here are some pleasures

    1. Dropped DS off at 9am for martial arts competition. Nice bacon sarni when I got home and did not succumb to Mcdonalds breakfast

    2. juggled money around online and have £45 left til payday. Not too bad as I have petrol and all bills are paid, just have to get shopping tomorrow which is usually £35-40.

    3. managed to paint one coat on the lower half of the wall up the stairs below the dado rail. DS is going to help me do the upper part as I have trouble raising my arms above my head

    4. roast chicken for tea. DS has gone out with his dad for tea so I will shred the leftovers and use up in a curry tommorrow with leftovers for work lunches

    5. bar of caramel chocolate on special offer :p naughty but nice
    0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

    1. Slept like a log and had a good lie in and read in bed before picking DD up from her sleepover

    2. Fab time at church and finally remembered to take a load of CDs for someone that I've been promising him for ages and ages.

    3. Yummy lunch with G and her children, she was so sweet and made a lovely veggie roast meal for us (with one slightly meaty dish for them), felt very happily stuffed afterwards!

    4. Popped in to see some friends who are struggling with all having been or being ill over half term, so cuddled the baby whilst mummy tidied up and daddy dealt with one of the poorly older children. (I did try and tidy up but was told in no uncertain terms that cuddling baby was far more important as she'd had him grizzling on her for days and days and days.....well, after a little while cuddled up to my ample bosoms, he fell asleep, typical male ;) )

    5. Was invited to stay for dinner with the above family which normally I'd have bitten their hands off, any excuse to get out of doing stuff, but declined as DD is exhausted after a very late night at sleepover, and G had given us lots of leftovers for our tea :)

    6. NSD, hoorah!!

    7. Hopefully going to get DD in bed soon and I'll follow and watch TV on my laptop or finish my fabulous book. Why bother being vertical when horizontal is so much more snuggly?

    8. Looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, I love this working term-time lark! Another reason why I should be a teacher eh?! (Still no news from Uni 2 *sigh*)

Kittikins - I wanna cuddle a baby (and then give it back! :D)

Yawning my head off so a quick 5

    1. My first and possibly only ever NSD :j (hopefully it doesn't count that I wrote a cheque for a deposit on a gite in the Languedoc - I didn't post it though)
    2. House is clean and tidy and the cleaner earned some more money towards the "big holiday"
    3. Inspired by Frith, we played Monopoly tonight
    4. Found a forgotten jar of HM strawberry jam in the cupboard. It must be 20 months old but is lovely
    5. Chicken and apricot casserole for tea from the freezer
    6. OH and I sat in the lounge with a glass of wine each and had a chat for 30 minutes. This is a rare and special event.:p

    Night all
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • I had to really put thought into this thread today, it's good to get the mind working:)

    1. Wrote 2 cheques for 2 steam fair weekends away.:)
    2. Errrm DH and I literally scoffed a box of after eights in minutes I swear, feeling very piggy like.:o:o
    3. De registered and re registered for my online tax stuff, looks like it might have worked have to wait for their activation code to come through.:)

    4. As we have decided to overpay the mortgage by a month next week it will leave us tight, as in we cannot have any un planned suprises! but not too tight so thanks to mse just keeping a very close eye on things, the freezer is taking a noticeable hammering, there is room for freezer tetris.:rotfl:
    5. Haven’t really done anything today taking it easy, I am aiming to get back to work either tomorrow or during the week, have to admit I feel poorly but I need to try and get into the swing of things to work out how poorly if that makes sense, i.e. I have a 90min commute each way.

    My five for the weekend;
    1. Lovely Sunday dinner cooked by mum.

    2. Went for a ride out in the car looking for local villages that can be considered for our relocation, found one and fell in love and the best thing is it's semi-affordable for such a lovely place :T

    3. Viewed a house today, although not what we want the people who lived their were very nice and it gave us a better idea what we need from a property.

    4. An amazing nights sleep on Friday night, was tucked up with my book for 9.15 and fast on by 10.30, best I have slept in a very long time.

    5. Impromptu family get together at my nans house, we all just happened to call round at the same time, was lovely.

    Evening

I think I have finally caught up with everyones pleasures. Hugs to all who need them and hope anyone feeling poorly gets well Now.
We had hoped to go away for the weekend but OH couldn't get Friday off work so instead had a couple of days doing nice things locally so quite a few pleasures even if not exactly MSE.

    1. Lazy morning on Friday and made pancakes for brunch for DD and me.
    2. DD and I went on a Spa afternoon so enjoyed the Sauna and Steam Room. The Relaxation Room was not very relaxing with a fidgety DD but did try to shut her out. Then lovely treatment of a pedicure for DD and a facial for me. We were in seperate rooms for this so easier to relax again.
    3. Then had afternoon tea which was very scrummy and had lots and lots of cakes. We brought a box of cakes home that we couldn't eat which OH enjoyed/
    4. MSE part of the day we got the bus to and from the hotel for our Spa treat so only spent less than £5 on travel compared to £30 had we got a taxi.
    5. DD giving me a big hug and telling me she had a lovely day.

    Saturday
    1. Up early and into London to go up to the top of the Shard. I'm not great with heights but the views were amazing. Was very strange to look down on Southwark Catherdral and it look tiny. DD and OH loved it and I coped quite well but nice to spend family time together and we have some amazing pictures.
    2. Lunch at Yo Sushi which is DD's favourite restaurant so she was very happy.
    3. Taking the slower train home as the fast train goes through Twickenham and would have been packed. Was nice to go through some different stations and see where OH went to school.
    4. As back at a reasonable time took myself back out to do the food shopping and didn't have to pay bus fare as used the travelcard we had bought earlier to get into London. Food shopping came in a few pounds under budget.
    5. No one wanted much for dinner so a simple and cheap dinner of Ravioli cooked in stock with some herbs for dinner. Cost a £1 for 3 of us.

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Lovely lie in. Got up to put the bread machine on then went back to bed.
    2. HM bread toasted for everyones breakfast
    3. Nice cuddles with DD, don't happen too often now so got to make the most of them.
    4. When finally got myself in gear spent a pleasurable couple of hours in the kitchen. Made another loaf of bread, batch of carrot muffins, choc and rasp mouse, apple crumble, chopped up a fresh pineapple which has been lurking in the fruit bowl, got everything prepped for a beef casserole to go in the slow cooker tomorrow and cooked tonights dinner of roast gammon for me and DD, lamb steaks in a curry paste marinade for OH with saute potatoes and veg. Also roasted a chicken to use in sandwiches for lunches. Haven't had a session like that in the kitchen for ages.
    5. Chilled out evening with my family

Sorry bit of a mammoth post but had a really nice couple of days. Loving being OS MSE as means we can have these treats without worrying as know have saved the money.

Right with you mms, same for me. Trouble is I end up staying up FAR too late to catch up!

secretif, ikwym about checkout speed, how do they do that? If I'm not careful, I come out feeling quite stressed by having to process the stuff as fast as they do it!

VJsmum, 20 months old is no age for jam ;)

    1. Lovely music in church this morning, sometimes what looks like it might be tricky turns out great
    2. Treated to ridiculously cosy 'sleepwear' teddybear fleece by my mum from M$S, £12 in promotion, polar explorers should buy them, better than any fleece I've got, perfectly good for day wear and will allow heating to be turned down a degree or two (now DS's both want one...)
    3. Started first sleeve of jumper I'm knitting, it feels like progress (and very small and quick after the large back!)
    4. Early meeting tomorrow postponed, meaning a slower start, yay!
    5. Potted up veg seedlings into (a) pretty small and (b) not quite so small pots. We will see which works best - I'm trying some weird-sounding greens which are (allegedly) easy to grow - if we don't like them, the rabbits will!
