    1. Still on a mad de-cluttering mission as we are moving home this year, so as much as we can fit in the ordinary bin the better. Three extra sacks of rubbish for the bin this week.

    2. Hugs with my boys this morning and they were lovely and warm as well. Had the biggest one 'shouting' at me as I walked up to his stable.

    3. Took down all the glass lightshades in the house, washed them, rinsed them off in vinegar and water and put them back up, they are gleaming now :)

    4. Not OS maybe but I have had the heating on all day and the house is lovely and warm, logs are burning on the fire tonight.

    5. Starting to see this major de-cluttering/rubbish clearing paying off big dividends now. Every drawer and cupboard I am opening is neat and tidy with everything having it's place!!
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D
  • Hi couponchaos  well done on your first ever shift as nurse in charge hope it continues to go well x

PK sounds like you had a lovely day, dont go overdoing it !

I think it must be the few days change in the weather, nothing like a few days sun to make you feel like spring cleaning (even tho i blooming freezing again now)and decluttering :D

    Heres mine for today:

    1. good sleep woke about 7am went to loo and glass of water and dozed off again until 10.30am !

    2. have felt more alert today despite the amitriptyline

    3. decluttered more of spare room & DS sorted last 2 boxes that were taken out of his room. Still loads to sort but its getting there. He also went through his wardrobe and got rid of some clothes so at least he can now fit his new ones in.

    4. Will pass clothes onto a friend for her 2 boys, some have never been worn.
S-in-Law used to work for some well known clothing companies as quality control so used to get loads of free clothes and DS kept all of them even if they didnt fit, so at least now they will get some use.

    5. am going to have a no tv night tonight. A friend was coming round but shes too tired so I am going to read and listen to some music for a change :)

    Evening all

PK - I always manage to spend a lot in a garden centre - I try to avoid them now
Sounds like a lot of people are decluttering - mine goes in fits and starts

    Mine for today
    1. Wasn't too disturbed by the teenagers. Woke at 3 to hear they were watching a film and with that and OH's snoring I took myself off to the spare room and slept through him getting up at the crack of dawn and slept in till 8
    2. Teenagers have spent the day - they are a nice group and I was able to give them lunch from stores and whoopsies. Fed 4 for under a pound
    3. Walk round to the shop - not as cold as it looked and was at least bright and sunny
    4. Finished my lectures for Monday - so might give myself the day off from work tomorrow.
    5. Can't think of a 5th. Not been a bad day just nothing too exciting has happened.

    Night all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Welcome couponchaos, good to see you here
Erosgirl, what a very kind brother :)
Frith you've changed so much, you're so strong now. I really admire you for how far you've come :)
Not an expression I like but omg mcculloch, you really got bio oil for £1? I love that stuff, suits my skin perfectly but no way I can afford the normal price!
Pleased you enjoyed your evening out katholicos, regardless of the minor inconveniences. Sometimes the enjoyment far outweighs the discomforts
You made me laugh at the image of your DD mhags, I can just imagine the looks of astonishment she caused :D
BoP I'm surprised you had time for breakfast!
PK pleased to hear you're feeling better, don't try to run before you can walk though!
RD How exciting, are you moving to your dream place, re your sig?
chicken I was so sorry to hear about your hairdresser, everything x'd and will keep her in my thoughts and prayers, along with a lovely young neighbour who was recently diagnosed and starts his treatment in the coming week

    I. Googled how to clean beige suede boots, I've had them for years so they needed a freshen up. Used the soft side of an emery board to get the dirt off then gently rubbed with the rough side to bring the pile back up. They look pretty good :D
    2. Polished the lounge furniture then remembered I have to stand on the sideboard to clean the big mirror. D'oh. So put the rubber-backed beck doormat on it, saved me ice skating ;). Like you RD I use vinegar to rinse, it makes glass and mirrors really shine
    3. Very kind friend fixed the wing mirror, and t-cut the scratches caused by the accident. Car looking almost back to normal now
    4. DNeighbour's DD was invited to sing at the Church coffee morning and Free Trade sale this morning. First time I've heard her sing, she has a beautifully pure, clear voice :)
    5. Got round to safety pinning the fleeces to the back of the lounge curtains at last, and have had to take one of my sweaters off!

    Sleep tight :)

skint - thankyou for those lovely hugs which have worked:-) You'll enjoy your no tv night. It's what I mostly have these days as digital changeover thing from 2 yrs ago has never worked for me. I turn putah round and watch that way from bed.

chicken - thought again of you in Cambridge today as the loathesome EDL were having a 'protest march' and massive police presence was evident.

msm - lucky you, to have plumbers on call en famille.

sparrer - keep those bellows warm and unchallenged by wintry blasts this w/e. Stay indoors!!![that's moi, being bossy].

    1. You have all been forebearing during my week of whinge and low. Thankyou. The catharsis of writing mainly on one was screening 3 other monkeys on my back, nasty, out of blue. BUT, today has seen 2 of them off.

2.[unrelated to 1.] B&Q refund for £51.26, sans problème, followed by an amazing bit of unlikely news and a courtesy reimbursement BY EBAY after ebay seller/Bank scam!

    3. Collected Clare Balding from Library and was laughing from page 1, to the amusement of other bus passengers, who asked what I was reading. A definite recommend and I'm not yet at p.20. She's a marvellous natural writer. Yes, she has a lot of Marvellous to write about from the off but does so with literate ease, grace and great good humour. Truly splendid stuff.

    4. Confetti slo-mo snow all day and birdies calling early for brekkie. Today I stood out in nightie and cardie under Corolux Corner and watched them, chattery-cold though I was. It's going to be good.

    5. Village tabletop sale in BL hall. Oh dear[not really] - more books. Oh well. And a new2me sewing machine - a Brother, with just as many bells&whistles as my now tiresomely defective Singer. All the bits, extras and manual present - £11. Haven't tried it yet, but feel v. pleased already. Lady has given me her addy/tel. no if I have any probs, but I can see it is immaculate. She's upgraded to a quilting heavy duty machine. A Keep Calm and Put The Kettle On mug is the perfect little sth for L. 2 prs of lovely JL cashmere bedsox, bnwt etc. All in all a jolly little haul.

    6. 2 nice wombles on way in to Mr T for blvd Grauniad. All adds to my points. On strength of refund, decided to treat self to half-price smoked salmon. Watched people choosing 'sandwich ready' 100gms for £3.50, or rushing at PROMO 2 for £5-100gm packets: 180gms for £3 is better. People cannot or will not do sums or catchweight calc.s and I deplore the use of those hand-held things which mask overcharging and stop people using brain. Sums can be fun, shopping and ms can be fun. It should start from day 1 and be part of Life's Great Game.
    [Dismounts from hobby horse.]

    7. Watched ruggers - good victory at last for Wales, beautiful French try, but not enough in the end pour les Bleus.

    8. Spiral to watch later.

mhagster - here's a linky, for the excellent report from an Oz ex-pat. on From Our Own Correspondent today.

Yes we are Sparrer - this is the year!! Just got a mountain of stuff to get through. Garage, shed and loft to be cleared and hopefully that will be all done in the next couple of weeks or so. We are not dragging rubbish and all up the M1 and A1 so we are having a big clearout. The stuff I have shoved into drawers, it's like a black hole!

Haven't read todays posts yet, but will do so shortly. Just want to post my 5 before i forget them!

    1. Spent a little time in the garden with superdoggie. Mischievious little sodbag. Digging things up, eating things she shouldn't, jumping all over the raised beds and throwing her plastic chicken leg toy around. Bless.

    2. Fry up for tea. Delish.

    3. DD helped me to make the bed up with fresh bedding. I can't manage the duvet cover so enlist DD's help for that bit.

    4. Superdoggie asleep on/in my newly made up bed...as pictured below...

    5. Planted a 15 shallot bulbs in to compost filled modules. They are in the plackytunnel with the onion sets until i decide where to put them in the raised beds.

Evening All. I'm starting to sound a bit like Dixon of Dock Green.

    1) Wales won. Yippee!!
    2) Spoke to DD on Facetime on the ipad. Think she over celebrated the Wales win. She'll be sorry tomorrow.
    3) Stew was lovely.
    4) Enjoyed Saturday Night Takeaway and Take me Out.
    5) Cooked a joint of pork in the slow cooker, ready for Sunday dinner.
