  • Good afternoon all !

Kittikins -sorry to hear bout your Uni application :(

Bop- I am sorry to hear that you are unwell .

    5 for today

    1. Work ok

    2. One of the companies that I work had received an email from me asking them to look into something for me. I had not heard from them and I got a call today asking what I thought about their reply . I said that I had not received it and the manager said that he thought it was odd as I always say "thank you" immediately when he sends me anything. I took it as a compliment.

3.Gave my colleague some blue eggs.

    4. Terrier heard my car pull in to the drive and met me .

    5. Going over Mum's later to manicure our nails as OH got me a posh kit last year. She said you can do my feet - I said b**ger off .

Have a good evening all !

    Get well now, poorlies.

Here are my pleasures for today so far...

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Sons off to school OK.

    3) Haircut! Got the extra yards of hair sheared esp over my ears. Terry Wogan hair no more. :-) Was £5 today though, college prices seem to vary as to which year group cuts your hair and just randomly!

    4) On walking back to my car, could hear some little bells ringing in the sky. Thought this was a bit odd. Looked up and there was a hawk! I don't know what he was doing in the middle of town but then a man appeared with a gauntlet who seemed to be trying to catch him.

    5) Got another large quantity of St John's Wort from Holland and Barrett. The only thing that has ever made any difference whatsoever to my mood (and the NHS have tried various options!)

    6) Sainsburys for groceries and to get smaller son some new PE trousers for school. He is now in 12 year old size trousers. He is 9 and a half. Where will it end?

    7) Got Carphone Warehouse to sort out my phone for me.

    8) The autism team lady phoned (not tea lady like I just typed, although that would be welcome when dealing with them!) She said they are about to try and diagnose smaller son (again) and have a massive survey for me to fill in. But they also have to send one to the ex husband... I said I did not know if that would be helpful to them as he will a) say son is fine or b) say it is the way I am bringing him up. She phoned back later and said she had spoken to the psych and the paediatrician in charge of son's case and that they know about the ex and they will read his survey and "put it to one side" LOL!

    9) My sister phoned.

    10) Nice pie and cous cous for lunch/tea (had it at 4pm).

    11) Looking forward to Holby City later.

KK ...I am sorry. I'm a bit puzzled as to the emphasis on critical analysis of lessons.

As it happens, I'm not bad at that sort of thing, but I certainly had to learn it and moreover, I wasn't expected to know it before I started teacher training.

I had a wonderful tutor who was great at making complex ideas clear to us.

Like others, I am a firm believer in paths that you are not yet aware of making themselves known to you.

Kittikins: I can't add to whats already been said, so big hugs.

    1. A lovely very long conversation about not a lot really with a colleague.
    2. Ordering in tonight, very much a case of CBA.:o
    3. Working from home tomorrow
    4. Turned train chaos into in depth kindle reading.:)
    5. The bunch of lovely flowers from DH is still amazingly fresh over a week on.

I thought I would have a little nosey at more local roles and nothing literally nothing came back in search results, time for some more in depth searching I think.

    Evening all.

    1) Came home early from work as my foot was really painful and spent the rest of the afternoon playing silly computer games.

    2) GP thinks I don't need more surgery (yay! :j) but do need more antibiotics (different ones this time as the last lot made me so unwell) and the chance to put my feet up while at work - it could be fun getting my employer to action his recommendation, but I'm certainly going to try! :rotfl:

    3) Got the cheque for a "try me free" pizza I bought a while ago.

    4) Checked the points in my shop-scanning account and found I had enough to 'buy' myself a new pair of slippers, which I need and would otherwise have had to pay for. :money:

    5) Football on television tonight - with my feet up as instructed, of course! ;)

Kittikins - that does seem an odd reason to turn someone down. :( Like everyone else, though, I'm sure something better is just around the corner for you. :)
Back after a very long break!

    Evening

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Packed lunches and breakfast for OH and DD. I had lunch out today with new lady at work and her friend who happens to be old neighbours DD. Lovely to catch up and offer a bit of moral support as she has been a bit down lately plus a very yummy lunch that only cost £5.50 with a drink.
    2. Walking home from work and it not being dark makes such a difference
    3. Bill coming in and being in credit. It is not a high bill but they never get the DD right even though the amount doesn't really change.
    4. Voucher for free Flora Pro-Active to try :money:
    5. Reading all the pleasures on here and feeling the real sense of friendship from it.

Hugs to all who need them

BoP - get well soon, and other poorlies of course
    Kittikins - Bummer :(
Chicken - I hate feet. I especially hate chicken feet :p

    Todays

    1. Lost 3lbs on the 5:2 diet last week. :T I only recorded 2 though as i don't really believe it and it gives me 1 lb to "play with" next week.
    2. However have been really hungry on my 5:2 today. Only the above has kept me going really. I used up more than the 500 calories but most, if not all, of the extra has been veg. I will see how it goes, if it really isn't for me then so be it - at least I have given the weightloss a kick up the bum and my BMI is once more in "normal" range.
    3. Caught the train in and walked from station to work today. SOme more weightwatchers points banked for my trip to the pub on Saturday :D I enjoyed the walk even though it was cold
    4. My sister's birthday and the best news from her - her and her OH are going to try marriage counselling. :j
    5. Caught up with an episode of "Call the Midwife" from a few weeks ago and I may indulge in another shortly.

    Night all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Another pleasure:

Smaller son got home from school and they have run out of award schemes for him! He has done bronze, silver, gold and diamond in 3 months. :-) They wrote a postcard about him for me to read and he said "school said they have never had to write one of these before" !

Also today they started teaching him joined up writing which for your cross lateral small person with shaky fine motor skills, is a bit of a challenge. But he got on well with that too. :-)
