5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Here are my pleasures for today so far.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Nice porridge for breakfast.
3) Geocaching! First one far too complicated to find but it did take us on a walk we would never have thought of including through tunnels under an old railway line. Whilst up there, we did a new search and did 2 more nearby caches.
4) Got the boys' feet measured. Bigger son is a size 6 now.
5) Met mum at Frankie and Benny's for tea. Sometimes I wonder if my relationship with my parents is like other people's. Dad had refused to come out for tea (despite telling him F and B's is in an old engine house etc etc) and mum left after her main course while we were still waiting for sons' puddings. :-/ This is the first time they had offered to do anything with sons this year but it seemed 20 minutes was enough. Still, sons enjoyed their food!
6) Looking forward to whichever comedy was on radio 4 tonight when I'm in bed.0 -
Seems I have borrowed & pc. Post written, lost.

Right, time to gird my loins and find pleasures in a slightly gloomy Kitty's life. Irritations:
1. Fed up with not having the opportunity to go and be a student
2. Fed up waiting to find out if uni 2 wants to interview me
3. Blooming dishwasher has died on me and I've foolishly gone and ordered another one (goodbye redundancy money, you're slipping through my fingers faster and faster!), I should live without one but darn it, I loathe washing up and it seemed like a 'bargain'...
4. Broke the s*dding washing line
5. Feel fed up, fat (well, I am both of those!)
6. My lovely daddy came and did more decorating but I foolishly chose a colour that doesn't go with the tiles so it looks wrong, wrong, wrong!
7. Feeling miserable with DD away, I'm such a bad person on my own!
8. CBA to do anything good at the mo
9. Starting to look at cheaper places to live and panicking about it all
Recent pleasures....
1. Sunshine today
2. No work this week
3. Yummy lunch in Brighton today with OH followed by amazing ice cream at lovely place next door.
4. Couldn't sleep last night so left OH fast asleep in my bed and had a fantastic sleep in DD's bed (she's away) but
that I could sleep like a log in her bed
5. YS salady stuff in a bid to buck myself up0 -
cat I understand that feeling, sunshine changes people's whole outlook on life
katholicos sounds like you love your garden too, isn't it exciting planning and making lists of what's needed for the planting season? When he finished with yours can I borrow your DS to help with mine?
DD pleased you had a good weekend with the relatives
mhags keeping everything x'd the grass fires will go out quickly with no damage to people or property
tealady I certainly think you got the better deal, as long as the headphones and other bits didn't cost too much of course!
ampersand oh dear, sorry you're still having problems with the comp. Do you use a mouse or the little pad thingy? My mouse sometimes get stuck and runs the page to the top because it's coming to the end of its life, basically wearing out and doing very strange things. Just wondered if that could be the same issue with yours
chicken I'm sure you read the managers expression correctly, I can just imagine how his blood pressure went up was when he thought he was going to lose you!
Skint pleased you enjoyed the day off, but sounds like you're going to be busy with the paint and rollers
(((Hugs))) Kittikins oh dear, definitely not been good day for you. On the plus side it's only paint, not wallpaper which would have been a major disaster. The washing line can soon be restrung, if washing up is your pet hate (I love it!) then investing in a machine isn't extravagant, you'll made adjustments elsewhere, and most importantly something much better is waiting for you that the course you wanted. It's karma.
1. Was allowed to sleep until 8.30am
2. Took some dips and too-spicy for me crisps for DGD, and a dress which I wore to DSis's wedding last year for DD as it's a tad too loose now
3. DGD's friend from France is visiting so we all went to a carvery for lunch, it was the nicest I've been to for a long time. The profiterole pudding was pretty good too!
4. Bought four cushions to match the new curtains. I'm getting there slowly
5. Went to a store and found lots of crafting bits for DD and two storage boxes with lids for £3 to keep the fellowship books in. Will be a big improvement as at the moment we're using a very battered and broken cardboard box
6. In the same store's gardening dept I got a winter flowering jasmine half price. Will try to avoid going to that town again, so many bargains to spend money on!
7. Washed the throws and old cushion covers, the latter ready for car booting
8. Loved the weather, but so looking forward to my bed tonight
Sweet dreams:)0 -
Evening all.
1) NSD - that's the third in a row! :money:
2) Delicious pate and chutney sarnie for lunch, made with RTC pate, SO chutney and HM bread.
3) Spent 5 hours checking data at work - cross-referencing two spreadsheets and two databases against each other, which was precisely as exciting as it sounds - but got a sincere 'thank you' at the end so it was almost worth it.
4) Lit a scented candle when I got home, as much because I needed to as because I wanted to: I'll just say that mog had made use of his litter tray and leave it at that! _pale_
5) Remembered that I still have 2 HB episodes saved to watch on iplayer, so that's what I'll do this evening.
Hugs to all feeling down / unwell / in need of a hug.Back after a very long break!0 -
Coo lots of busy bees on this thread. I on the other hand overslept and am already in bed
1) reverbed a shiny 5p on the way to work
2) met lovely friend for lunch. She insisted on paying cos i'd given her some opera scores i no longer need
3) walked down to lunch date 25 mins and was great to stretch my legs and enjoy the sunshine
4) managed to delete, delegate and deal with all 70+ emails in my inbox before home time so once again empty inbox yay
5) brought home 3 empty plastic pint milk containers from work. With unexpected weekend trip down south i have a 4 pint with tomorrow's date on i've only just started, so now 3 pints decanted and in the freezer.
On a not such os joyful note the mouse is back in the juice cupboard :-(MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Quiet day here, DS took surplus ironing board across to DD's house, a little bit more space gained.
Voucher for 4 free loo rolls in the post.
DS on health kick, so I ate his pizza... it was lovely too.
Used a lovely body lotion that I was sent by MSE'r, really liked it and I have a 200g tube of it to use.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Thanks Sparrer, Skinty and all xx I know, they're all quite trivial things really and when I'm not feeling so grumpy, most are easily fixable. Tomorrow will be a better day I'm sure, it usually is!0
