Dont know what all the fuss is about king richard being dug up - they've been digging up king edwards for years in norfolk :rotfl:
ampers didnt recognise red lion yard last time i went. And where is the regal king of cats?
bop 10% tabby lion bar? I discovered 10% seahorse in my fishcakes!
Back from notts. mil was pleased to see both of us so glad i went, though drive is soooooo long and friarton bridge in perth closed
Cats very annoyed and food bowls empty when we got home, but they've forgiven us. We left them plenty but clearly pigged the lot saturday! Water bowl still had plenty and mum had key if we didnt make it back today.
    So pleasures for the weekend
    1) as i say mil very pleased to see me
    2) took her out for a meal which was very reasonable
    3) the sun shone all weekend which is a very mse pleasure
    4) oh's aunt and uncle collected mil this morning to take her down to winchester for a short holiday, so we got to see them too
    5) filling up at tesco was a pleasure not to have to fill up at a motorway station
    6) declutter habits seem to be sticking. Was so nice to get home to tidy house, and unpacked case straight away
    7) just listened to the now show. Loved the joke about romanian horses coming over here and taking our cows' jobs. Hoping though this wakes us all up to the food chains our quest for cheaper foods has encouraged
    8) now listening to poor linda mourning the passing of wolfgang. Llama burger anyone?
Night all. Land of nod calls. Zzzzzzzzz

Evening all, not posted for a while but have lurked when I can. The stupidly busy period is now over and will only be quite busy enough from now on (I hope)

    5 for today:
    1. Sunshine!
    2. Daffodils, in pots and vases.
    3. No work today. Very rare, being self employed it's hard to stop it creeping into every day of the week..
    4. Fantastic apple sponge pudding with its own toffee sauce, I rarely do this but this is so good and so easy that I have to offer it around (none of that tedious creaming, whisking etc):
      http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3331/toffee-apple-pudding
    5. An hour of Brian Cox with DS :D How did physics never seem so interesting before? It's a mystery to me...;)

Well, another jolly day here. My pleasures...

    1) Another rather lengthy lie in. 2 texts from MrN reminded me that he was going to help me get the other seat out of my car at 9.30.... got up quickly at that point!

    2) Got the seat out. MrN carried it from the car to the living room for me. First time he had been in my house for over 18 months. Was a bit strange.

    3) With only seats for me and sons left, we went to Wolverhampton to get my Ebay winnings. A double base unit and drawer unit. £41 in total and brand new. They were already assembled so squeezed them into the car.

    4) Managed with the help of smaller son to take old unit out and put new ones in! Also smashed old unit up, which was fun.

    5) Bigger son went climbing with my brother in law.

    6) Smaller son and I took advantage of the lovely sunshine and went to the local steam railway station and found a geocache. Also sat on the platform to eat our picnic (well, sandwiches and a flask of hot chocolate).

    7) Popped down to mum and dad's to put the old kitchen unit on what will be their next bonfire. (There is always one in progress!) Sons played on the trampoline for a while. Picked up my dissertation. It is local history so people keep looking at it so thought I might re-type it and update it.

    8) Made a pizza for tea (dough in bread maker) then a treacle sponge.

    9) Phone call of over an hour with school friend. And a flurry of texts from MrN today. Unexpected but quite nice.

    10) In bed now with 2 hwb and about to listen to the Archers.
  • Good morning all !

Skintos - I am not jealous....I am not jealous .. I AM jealous;)

VJsmum- When I typed the "war horse" thing I was being ever so careful not to write the word that means brothel;) I feel your "Tamworth" pain - my ears are bleeding after my OH's snoring sounded like a bath emptying continously the whole night .Still got to watch "The Pianist"..... twice.

Rainy - you are moving to the area where you want to be (according to your sig.)! This is exciting news :)

Have a good day all - even you Skintos:p

Frith -lots of "Mr. N's " in your post ..perhaps he got a Valentines card which he thinks you might have sent him ???

Hello, Monday evening here, another hot 36o day and there are out of control grass fires nearby. One of m colleagues lives in that area so sent a message to him after hearing the travel update on my drive home. The smoke is covering the sun and the sun is giving a strange orange glow.
Hopefully no one will be hurt.

    1. My inlaws are not too good at the moment, so sent some flowers which they should get tomorrow . Had a 10% off code and also flower points which brought the price down further.

    2. Work was okay, a new staff member in today who seems nice.

3.having slow cooked steak pie, roast potatoes and parsnips. have par boiled extra spuds and parsnips which will go in the freezer.

    4. Apple and rhubarb crumble for pudding , half will go in freezer for another day.

    5. A tree loaded with parrots this morning as I drove to work, not sure they could have got anymore in!

    Frith enjoy your cupboards!
Sparrer my friend got a bargainous bouquet of red roses in asd* on Saturday! She said they were lovely.
CCPyou sound much happier now you've made the decision to stop studies for a while!

    Everyone , have a lovely day :)

    Morning

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. After much pleading by OH and DD I made panckes for breakfast, very yummy and kept everyone happy
    2. Shopping trip with DD to Kingston, got her a few bits in the sale and some new headphones as she had managed to lose hers. In exchange I will have a sparkly clean bathroom, the ironing done and she will cook and wash up while I am away on Tuesday night.
    3. Yummy slow cooked beef for dinner using RTC beef plus enough left to make wraps for OH lunch today.
    4. Sunshine all day and still being light at 5:30 makes everything feel so much better.
    5. Washing line dried so smells all fresh and nice

Hugs to all who need them

    Whole post just disappeared again.
Was not even touching keyboard, when all went highlighted[as if selected for copying]screen rolled upward faster and faster, then gave me reply/edit on ccp's post.
This speed up+select thing hasn't happened for a while, but it started again intermittently this a.m.
    It's all so frustrating/infuriating.
Have to do other things now.

  • Good evening all!

    5 for today

    1. It was very light driving to work this morning

    2. Work ok

    3. Booked a lot of annual leave for what is left of this financial year and some for next year. I had supervision and when my manager asked "what would you like to discuss?" ,I said "leave " he thought I meant leaving/resigning and his face was a picture of horror ( I hope I got this emotion correct ) :rotfl:

4 The drive back from work was also very light !

    5. Stir fry for tea.

Have a good evening all !

    Good evening all.

    1. Managed to get a short lie in following a disturbed night's sleep (some drunken sounding young man rang my house phone twice by mistake at 3.22am)
    2. Looked after my two little grandsons as their usual Monday childcare couldn't do it
    3. Got the little ones out into the garden to soak up a bit of sun
    4. Checked my outdoor playroom (unused shed kitted out like a beach hut last year) and all was dry and even quite warm inside.
    5. Postman brought my 2 bargain The White Company t-shirts for the boys and they loved them (with sheriff badges on)
    6. Have had my breakfast, lunch and tea and not hungry yet only consumed 800 calories today (shared my soup with the boys, had a M&S Count on Us chicken and asparagus risotto)
    7. Enjoyed a wonderful view of red, red sky from my kitchen window so hope to look forward to another nice day
    8. Could hear the birds chirping away when washing up- Spring in the Air!
    9. Got an evening to myself as OH in London for the day and evening
    10. Got tomorrow to look forward to with nothing to do but please myself (will probably get on with making my curtains).

I could go on.......which can only be a good thing, means that life is good at the moment.
