Getting my 5 in early today as there's a crack in the laptop casing by the hinge which I'm going to carefully glue together, and it needs 24 hours to dry. Whatever am I going to do for 24 hours, will I get withdrawal symptoms?

ampersand yes please I could do with some time back! Enjoy the day, it sounds perfick
mculloch re your fruit and veg, like you I'm happy to avoid supermarkets and buy from the market or farm shop. Nanas don't have to be perfectly straight, mushies might look a little deformed, but the prices are much more OS
    DD Hatters :(
PK pleased you saw the great outdoors and what it has to offer, hope you improve a little more each day but do take it easy

    1. was allowed to sleep in til 9.30am
    2. bowl of spicy fruity porridge for breakfast. I make a pan of it which lasts about 7 days and portion it into small containers to freeze. Tried mw'ing on a couple of occasions but it never tastes as good, and usually goes everywhere
    3-in-1 again - nsd/npd, sunshiny day
    4. pottering in the garden for a couple of hours, cleared all the weeds from the tubs, pruned and pinned back the loganberry and blackberry, cleared the leaves off the little bed and uncovered lots of crocuses and daffys, and masses of strawberries which seem to have taken over. Pity I'm not keen on strawberries, but lucky for the family and neighbours
    5. Mogs and mutt groomed outside so the carpet stayed hair-free, but the birds had the benefit for their nests. So many reasons to love the warmer weather

Enjoy the evening and have a good night :)

    My five are:-

    1. Stripped bed this morning and put in the wash had it out on the line just after 9am and fectched in - still slightly damp - just after 2pm. Most of moisture gone but it is flannelette to be fair.

    2. Sun has shone today so that makes me feel better.

    3. Put both of my boys up in the very top field this morning. They have not been up there since November last year and they nearly took off trying to get up there as it's nice grazing for them.

    4. Kissy cuddles with the boys with ginger biscuits for them and a nice feel under their rugs - they are lovely and warm. Back in their stables tonight tucked up.

    5. Got some more washing on tonight ready to go out on the line tomorrow. Feel pleased that this last couple of days I have acheved quite a few jobs!!
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D

    1) NSD and NPD.

    2) Smoked salmon and egg sarnies for brunch.

    3) Enjoying my new study-free status and spending the afternoon doing not very much. :D

    4) Decided that it's spring-like enough to take down my snowflake window stickers, and gave the windows a clean while I was at it.

    5) Jambalaya and a glass of wine for dinner - more .
Back after a very long break!
  • Thanks for the kind words don’t worry seems I literally can’t do too much and I really want to recover faster, it’s just a tad bit frustrating.
1.Turns out the bulbs I rescued last year are infact all narcissus, and all starting to flower.:j
    2. I was able to get a little sleep, it took me literally all morning to get washed and up that slowly, but nice to wash the smell of hospital away, sitting here in 2 fleeces and a fleece throw.
    3. My sweet peppers, tomatoes and sunflowers are all safely tucked away in the bedroom airing cupboard, I hope some start to grow, I just enjoy growing things.:D
    4. Sky is on in the background and I have a laptop, interweb and kindle so not bored.
    5. For just such an occasion decanted frozen bits to an oven tray to slowly cook through for an hour.:o
    6. NSD / NPD

Shall try to do 5 for yesterday and 5 for today!

    Friday

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Smaller son had a teacher training day so we didn't have to get up til 7.30.

    3) Sister phoned in a panic to say the estate agent wanted to show someone round her house and she hadn't tidied it! So smaller son and I went round there, put the washing away, did the washing up etc and smaller son hoovered everywhere.

    4) HM chicken nuggets for tea.

    5) Listen to the Now Show. Shall have to listen to it again though as I fell asleep.

    Today

    1) Too good a sleep... Told brother in law we would be ready and in his car by 9.30am and got a phone call at 9.40 to say he was waiting outside. His phone call woke us up!

    2) Went Geocaching. 3 hour walk altogether but in a lovely, scenic spot.

    3) Banana sandwich for lunch - haven't had one in years.

    4) Cleared my car out ready for collecting my "new" kitchen units tomorrow.

    5) MrN was talking to me while I was sorting the car and he took my sons out with his son5 and they were gone for 3 hours! They should be tired tonight after so much walking (they went to the forest locally where we went geocaching this morning). And MrN is going to help me get the 2nd back seat out of my car tomorrow.

    6) Easy tea as I made curry yesterday so just had to warm it through.

    7) Looking forward to Casualty later.
  • CCP good to see you so chirpy :D

PK hope now you are home you can relax and get better quicker

mcculloch good luck to your DS - EVERYTHING crossed. x

Rainy-Days its great to get caught up with jobs and washing now the sun has made an appearance isnt it

    1. Really good sleep
    2. washing on,dishwasher on and ironing done by 10am
    3. bagged up more clothes for charity shop
    4. made a start on the "big clear up" We decided to start with DS bedroom which has not seen the light of day for months.... apart from a quick hoover once a week on the bits of floor I can see and clean sheets every week

We emptied the room (apart from the bed), hoovered and washed skirtings etc. Moved bed around and put on clean sheets. The room looks huge now and DS has promised to keep it clean and tidy ;)

He now has to go through 2 bookcases and 3 boxes of stuff we took out and decide what he can bear to part with .... he's a terrible hoarder

    5. Steak (£3.99 Aldi) and chips with garlic mushrooms for tea was delish, and cheaper than a takeaway

    Hope everyone's having a good weekend x

    Evening

McCulloch - Fingers crossed for your DS

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Lovely lie in this morning
    2. food shopping done for the week, bought a few treats and still came in 98p under budget. Popped into Mr.T for a few bits that could only get there and remembered why I am not shopping there any more.
    3. DD washed up while I was out shopping and then met me at the bus stop to help carry the shopping home.
    4. Snooze this afternoon
    5. Made slight change to the meal plan and had sausage and pasta soup which everyone enjoyed.

Hugs to all who need them

Quick 5 from me as I have been let down by someone at work and now need to prepare 2 lectures for monday and do a pile of marking

    1. Made a start on the marking this morning as I was awake at 5.30. Not a pleasure as such, but at least i knew more about what I was faced with
    2. Lovely, lovely walk with OH and DS. DS seemed to enjoy it once he got over the fact that it was "so unfair" that he had to come at all.
    3. Snowball fights with DS:D
    4. Lovely lunch in pub after the 3 hour walk.
    5. OH and I got some bargains in the Mountainwear shop - I got a new cagoule and a travel towel, OH got walking boots and a cagoule and the whole lot was under £100 after they'd given us discount for being in the caravan and camping club. Bargainous

Have a good weekend all - I shall be in this seat for the whole day tomorrow, red pen in hand and fingers flying over the keyboard.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
