Evening
Skint - Sorry you didn't get the job.
Pleasures for today,
1. Busy day at work. Have been really bored recently so glad things are picking up a bit as makes the time go much quicker.
2. DD met me for lunch
3. Just booked a family day out for next Saturday not MSE at all but we were having a life is too short moment so looking forward to some time with my family. Also have next Friday off so looking to do something nice with DD then as well.
4. Meal plans sorted for next week and have put things in that DD can cook easily as I am away one night with work and don't know what time will be back the next day. Hopefully will come in under budget again. I am looking forward to having a relaxing night in a very nice hotel in Yorkshire.
5. Griddled Tuna for dinner with salad and potatoes. No one moaned so getting better at eating fish. One piece of tuna left so will add some mayo to it and use in a wrap tomorrow for lunch.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
1. DS internally interviewed well this morning for a post that will make him much happier at work - EVERYTHING crossed. It's not been such good news for interviews on here - though I think you 'knew' already, Skint - so I hope we can turn the tide.
2. Fantastic bargains from the discount greengrocers. What would have cost me around £14 minimum at Mr T's cost me £5.70. Not the finest quality but perfectly edible.
3. Poundland had perfectly adequate, sturdy washing up bowls in to replace my ancient, splitting one. Also Ken Bruce's autobiography for me and some books at 3 for £1 for DGC's half term next week.
4. Not in pain as have fresh supplies of Tramadol. Took enough to have an effect but not so much as to put me on Planet Janet.
5. Missed parcel delivery, but weather looks OK for cycling to collect tomorrow and if Trammies work I won't be in pain for the journey.
6. Have got on another BzzAgent trial. Hooray! Freebies! Sparrer, I spotted your shower gel freebie on the 'what freebies did you get' thread - what an intriguing scent combo...Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Chicken: 50 shades of chicken - just fantastic, does it have breasts with and without water added, sorry couldn’t resist.:rotfl:
Kittikins: There must be another track that is meant to be, that’s waiting to be found, sorry for your initial disappointment thou.
McHags; So sorry for the worries, fingers crossed of course.
Skint: Sorry you didn't get the role..
I’m feeling really odd, very strong stuff with odd side effects, it’s also annoyingly frustrating with the not being able to do anything. Hope everyones having a great Friday.
1. I saw see daylight and wildlife for the first time all week. Theres crocuses and snow drops I love love love spring.:j:j
2. 1st day without needles in 5 days a big pleasure.:p
3. Huggles from the animals who spent ages playing around me.:)
4. Scoffing a few lovely chocolates, and sharing them of course.:D:o0 -
1. Back from nearish village auction, rather good, and genuinely Antiques! which was rather a surprise. About 300 lots and auctioneer hailed me as I entered - tv well-known now, but haven't seen him for some years, except on box. We nattered for ages. Baby daughter is 11 now! Then M was there and J and several others, all with genuine warm Hello's, all old suspects and all was jolly, fun and NAICE. 4 lots - £44, so not too bad -all Spitalfields-bound. [a]boxed 60's retro WMF fondue set. pea-sized skulls carved from bone and strung as !!!!!ish bracelet [c]absolute wreckage of an old v. primitive dolly [d]bad ptg on board, original 'distressed' frame, [post mortem, more like]has decent age, nails, feels right. c. 1860's French artist's take on a Dutch interior, sgd l/r and written on back ditto. Untalented amateur, but authentic reek & obvious age may take it somewhere. Wanted M's ptg, but he started beyond my top-end bid, so let it go. Further, I'll bung 20 lots in next month. On verra.
2. Late out this arvo, because riveted by this on R4:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01qknmh
Was standing in kitchen, staring out back and unable to risk missing a second.
3. ...and I've remained in car now, unable to miss a second of this:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00k4l2l
Both have been shocking, outstanding, and absolutely not to be missed. Brilliant writing and acting.
4. Pre-auction, dropped in pics of L@work, for him to use in portfolio. I am so pleased with new Canon printer and loved fact that it offered me all sorts of easy options, in this case, to print all 4 pics on one A4 page. They turned out perfectly. Found house encumbered by scaffolding as more incompetence and short-cuts by loss adjusters after fire means all to be re-done...again....and again. How L's Mum, my old Uni friend[also L, for confusion]copes tranquilly with all of this, plus imminent major surgery, AND then being only contact during visit of NZ friend in 80's being suddenly admitted to Addenbrookes with pneumonia etc.etc....yet cuppa is ever offered, home and hearth ever open to all. I was so glad to say I've done more Mr T vouchers, so we are into town to dine before Easter, followed with Botanical Gardens as 6 mths back for her b'day. We'll wander them in Spring and wonder where the last 6 months went. sparrer, shall we look for some of your lost time too, while we're there?
5. I freely admit chronology does not much feature in my pleasures. Hence, again pulling door after self, after the afternoon play and knowing AGAIN in the split second beforehand that keys were on wrong side. Today, didn't let it bother me. Just took up NZ kauri mallet of decent age[as we say on the trade]and put hole in glass panel of door. So. And still I'm unworrying. I can fix this demain. Pleasure? - I really have changed over recent months.
5. My rhubarb is definitely up nicely, having survived pot>garden splitting and burial. Looks like 11 crowns surfacing now.
7. Posted Valentine columns and other articles from The Times . Visit also arranged.
8. Last episode of Sylvia Plath's 'The Bell Jar' starting on R4 now. Another supremely well done thing. Sorry bop, but Auntie Beeb still has what it takes and abandoning terrain leaves it to be invaded/populated/insidiously re-worked by ???gkw and that's the problem. My maman called it Cutting Off Nose To Spite One's Face.
Not a pleasure, but the news concerning Oscar Pistorius has stunned me, in the way some deaths leave one deeply affected, for absolutely no logical reason. I recall feeling this way re: James Hunt. But then I also know I wouldn't give house room to Vicky Pryce's version of herself or events, which does not equate with backing Huhne either.
Bonne nuit, no hwb needed tonight.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Did you really, dd? Remember a year-round Sunday booty is just down the road too, on the P&R, should you cross the Border and head South sometime.
Obviously you'll need to re-new cross-Border visa after using up Foreign allowance in Notts today.
Also, I have now heard TWICE [ so it must be true] Matt tell Pusscat 'I love you' and She tell Matt 'I love you too'. Gorblimey! Someone Should Be Told...esp. Paul.
