Merci ccp. It really was a stunner - hope you didn't see it felled. I can't bear this. Have been glad to handle some rounds of several taken down in old Nelson Park primary school park, seen by chance as I walked through last April. Was flying to NZ this time last year.

Oh dear!! LOL :rotfl: (I confess, I had to use Google translate!)
    Good evening all !

VJsmum - that bliddy Valentines offer thingy has not arrived yet for OH !

Oh dear!! It's not quite the same when you have to say "well I did get you something through MSE cos it was cheap, but it hasn't arrived so you'll have to have it tomorrow!" :p

Poor Kittikins - my godddaughter is going through the same with her uni application.

    Todas

    1. Friend at work was taken ill, obviously not a pleasure, but two of us saved the day, diagnosing low blood sugars and getting her right. Hero here stepped in and delivered her lecture which was good fun.
    2. OH like his card and valentines choccies - didn't like to say he only got the choccies cos I bought the cheapest card :rotfl:
    3. Warmer weather
    4. M&S reduced "fuller longer" meal. I am trying the 5:2 thing but am not sure it's for me, i'll give it a week or two more. Meal was OK, and very quick.
    5. That's it for today, but I'll carry one over from Tuesday. Second prize giving was in the Birmingham council house, which I'd never been in before and is beautiful.

Day off tomorrow - or would be if I hadn't, once again, come home with a pile of someone else's marking. That place would grind to a halt without me, it really would ;)

    :rotfl:
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • My five for today;

    1. Managed to get everything I needed from town and carry it back with mums help, couldn't have done it without her.

    2. Cuppa tea and a biscuit at nan and grandads, nan has everything wrong with her at the moment and I expected her to be upset (and rightly so) but she was surprisingly chipper and upbeat, even made a few jokes.

    3. Found the motivation to do some actual work and I had a very productive afternoon.

    4. Snowing yesterday. Spring like today. Very strange weather and Ian and I much preferred today's sunny, blue skies, bird chirping walk.

    5. Wasn't supposed to be doing valentines but I bought OH some of his favourite expensive teabags and some chocolate just because I loves him. He felt guilty for not getting me anything and so is popping out to fetch me an ice cream :rotfl:

    1. I am most excited ce soir about your new loo seat McCulloch, because one is needed here. Finally accepting my kitsch sunflower one is beyond repair, although I tried.

2, Another working day outside and front is now complete. Probably shabby bodged rustic for others, fine by me. Pause now till next week.

    3. Wretched time-sapping waste of most of day, but necessary. Someone Bulgarian on ebay has had a go at my£s, via fake purchase, back to Bank. Don't ask me how. Useful, good people are actually onto them and I am protected, but it has surprised me to feel so exhausted by it all. Hours on phone, which is never my instrument of choice. I am, however, grateful, but really looking forward to day of rest demain, if Dr S is listening....

    4. Just found sth in post. Longhauler em just done, as Adèle sang Skyfall theme. She has a marvellous voice.

    5. I'll have to go out for coffee, milk, eggs and other now[out of habit of man food, working drinks breaks etc]. Don't want to, but having to do so tmrw will be worse, so will get it done now.

Goodnight all. Drive back safely bop. Yes, sparrer - know exactly what you mean about time going missing. Haven't found the last lost lot yet and this week's almost over.
    Glad that story amused, vjm.

Just popping in to say hello and that HURRAH it is indeed Friday and I'm having a day off .... Been up early and made the girls porridge for their breakfast!

Life's a bit difficult at the moment my husband is quite poorly and we are once again worrying about the cause. Hospital appointments next week so will have to wait a few more days. I do struggle with seeing him so unwell. Lots of tears and snots from me:(

Weather has been blooming hot .

Eyebrows waxed so less scary looking:)
    Parrots that make me smile.

Continuing with my Holby City- fest! frith will appreciate this! I'm up to date with current series and working my way through the first series I missed when I emigrated..... All watched on my phone as I try to use up credit so I can change supplier!
My son being independant and heading into city for uni stuff, he's a quiet boy so I'm glad he's doing it with no problems ( so far)

There! That's more pleasures than I knew I'd had.

I know I mentioned I felt rough at the weekend but then it got progressively ridiculous, by Monday I was in hospital tests showed Pnummonia with breathing problems.

By the time Wednesday arrived I start feeling able to move, bruised and battered by tests and canulas and get agitated when every movement required a nebuliser..But the great news I was able to come home, loaded up with prescriptions this evening.

Home to a big box of chocolates, and pizza and things, bear in mind I’ve not really eaten since last Wednesday:rotfl: so it’s still there for lunch and tea tomorrow, but lovely to be spoilt. Lots of proper rest as I literally can’t move about much.:)

    1. Great to be home and lovely for valentines evening, even if it is just to sit very still as fit for nothing. :o
    2. Everyone recycled the lastest magazines, so there was something to take minds off IV’s and tests etc etc, I have a very big phobia of needles yet due to the strength of the IV antibiotic they were giving they had to take blood before and after. I still have a phobia.
    3.
To be honest it has been an eye opener being that poorly, that to be home is a new kind of appreciated bliss.:)
    4. Edited to add it was lovely being able to make another patient smile, just with a little conversation today.

Get well soon, MHags' OH and PK.

Here are my pleasures for today.

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Have nearly done all my physio exercises (they're really hard work!)

    3) Penultimate session with psych nurse. Will have had about 25 with this one, I think. :-/

    4) Made 2 dozen little heart shaped biscuits for sons.

    5) My sister popped in with some paperwork that she will pay me for doing.

    6) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

Half term for smaller son starts today so no crack of dawn alarm call tomorrow - hoorah!

Sending love and prayers to Mr MHags and PK, get back to chirpy, fighting fitness asap please xx
  • Mr Mhags lots of love. PK... EVERY sympathy. I spent this afternoon visiting my very ill friend on a respiratory ward, some poorly people there - including my buddy.

She was very badly bruised where they had tried to get a cannula in five times and failed. She is severely needle phobic, DS is too, so there was five minutes of very black comedy as they exchanged experiences.

Please do look after yourself PK and continue to get well. I am so pleased you have people to spoil you.

Ampersand, our latest seat is plain pine, I know the sunflower seat of which you speak. We have a white seat on at the moment, but I prefer this pine style. It was the princely sum of £7.99 and is the third seat for this loo which is only around 12 years old. My Mum had the same seat for donkey's years... Hmm.
