Good afternoon all !

VJsmum - Today not Valentines day . It came , he saw, I conqueredValentines thingy that is.
Mhagster ((hugs)) and fingers crossed that your OH is ok x
Dundee - Yep - you definately are worth it kid
Katholicos - want that Collie !
6 for today
1. Lovely sunny day here
2.OH said that he had ordered me a dozen roses which were supposed to be delivered to my office yesterday . (DEFO.NOT MSE Vjsmum )and they arrived at my office today ! My cousin who is also my work colleague said that she would drop them in after work. OH is just bo**ocking the company now !
3.Went shopping -spent 2 weeks worth so I am refusing to go next week .
4.OH was chuffed with his belated :money:MSE Valentines box of stuff - it's actually quite ok and he loves all that sort of thing .
5. Got home from shopping and saw my elderly Portugeuse neighbour delivering some loud profanities of what I must assume to be of Portugeuse origin at her door lock. She is in an L.A property and has had her front and back door replaced today (much to her disgust, as she was quite happy with the old ones) and she couldn't get the door shut as the multi locking things were sticking out .I jiggled it about a bit for her which sorted it and all was well with the world after that
6. Day off
Have a good weekend all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
I hear the horse apologists are queuing to give us their version of events. Dear Messers Emporium. Your cheap foods are cheap, sold for your profit, not our benefit. It is not just the hoofs that have been scraped to pass as cheap burgers, but the cheap beans, cheap tin tomatoes. You gave us a convenience, salted ready meals. You said this was good for us. I have not knowingly bought one of these. Nor am I likely to do in the future as well. Your shams have been found out. Do you think I want to buy a jelly desert with marshmallow that looks like a packet of jelly tots dressed up for thrice the price. Actually, more but it does not rhyme.
And you kicked out the odd shaped carrot, replaced it with the nitrogen blanketed all year tasteless strawberries, that suffer from an amnesia that I cannot remember how awful they are.
Now Mr Emporium, go get your Chinese slave labourers to make us them nice Easter presents, as you fleece us before, and again.
Me, I just look for the Roadkill after the punters your seduce have fattened your purse.0 -
I am keeping clear of the news with all this horse business. I have two horses and the whole thing is making me feel sick. We get all our meat from a reputable butchers and we never buy ready meals so I am confident we are okay!!! If it affects sausage rolls however......
1. I am back into a size 12 pair of jeans horray and in Next I am into 10's :T wow that feels good!
2. Cleaned through the house on a quickie but it always looks better
3. Stripped my welsh dresser right back and cleaned that from top to bottom and put it all back into place
4. Got the lawns cut front and back and they look really good - first cut of the year but pleased I have got them done.
5. Had a small cutting back and tidy up session in the garden and a good sweep up, place looks cleaner and tidier!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

PK (((hugs))) get well now !!
Tealady sorry to hear about your friend x
Ok bad news first -
I didnt get the job
To be honest it wasnt really a surprise. Although the interview went well I knew as soon as they said they wanted someone to cover full timers off sick or on leave that they wouldnt take me on seeing as I would be working mornings in my current job. It seems most part time employers want you to commit to full time as and when it suits them
Good news -
Its sunny

Evening all
Mine for today
1. Waking up and realising its friday :j
2. Brilliant morning in work. Although if I never have to sing ring a ring a roses again, it will be too soon
3. This afternoon I cleaned out rabbit, cleared up dog poop in garden, hoovered, cleaned kitchen (twice) and cleaned bathroom
4. Fakeaway for tea with posh whoopsie ham on top
5. Already got my onsie on, glass of wine and watching tv with kids not arguing  :rotfl: And relax...........
Half term next week, cant wait.0 -
Evening all, from an unusually chipper CCP.
1) I'm no longer a current OU student, after my tutor agreed with me that withdrawing was the best thing to do. :j I'll start again next September on a course that will hopefully suit me more.
2) Glorious sunny weather all day, and quite warm if you found a sheltered corner.
3) A couple of examples of great customer service: a refund on a pressed face powder compact which exploded into dust (such a mess!) and, more dramatically, an offer of free tickets to an event in December after I complained on behalf of a group about the poor service we received last year. Given that the tickets are £40-50 each and there were 12 people in our group, that's a seriously generous goodwill gesture!
4) Received 6 almost free bottles of wine, from a company which was trying to tempt me back 'as I haven't visited their website since my first order'. Actually I have - I placed an order last time they sent me one of these offers - but I won't tell them if you don't.Having got 6 free bottles for changing my energy tariff a few weeks ago, I now have enough wine to last me for months.
5) Kisses from a gorgeous dog tied up outside W8rose - I'm glad to see my magnetic attractiveness to canines works as well as ever!
6) Making a stuffed crust 3 cheese pizza for dinner, with two of the three cheeses of the RTC variety, to be accompanied by a glass from one of the many bottles I now having sitting in the wine rack in the hall.
Skint - I'm sorry you didn't get the job. It didn't sound like it was 100% right for you, though, and it means you're free when the perfect job comes along shortly.
PK and mr mhagster - get well now, both of you.Back after a very long break!0 -
Right, beer pawed next to cat and Lady Black.
Now, watching downloaded John Wayne film, The First Rebel. true story as it is in black and white.0 -
Glad to see you so chipper CCP - is that the wine?
You'd better buy a lottery ticket with your luck. I have a similar magnetic quality with small children and babies. My kids call me the Pied Piper :rotfl:
Chicken - glad the "thing" came and went down well! What a bu88er about the roses. hope you get compensation.
Sorry about the job, Skint
Get well soon Mr Mhags and PK, and you too chicken if you're still suffering
Sorry for your loss, Tealady
Ampersand and Sparrer - please accept my apologies for being so rude as to not acknowledge the Lot advice. THanks so much - we are going to make decisions on Sunday, so you may get PM'd
Hello to everyone else!
For today
1. I, like Chicken, spent 2 weeks worth of money on the shopping and next week will only buy fresh stuff we need. it is ridiculous how much stuff there is in this house, foodwise.
2. bacon and egg for lunch - it's amazing how 2 rashers and one egg will sustain me for hours, but after a sandwich I'm hungry in minutes
3. Had my first "fakeaway" for tea - sheesh kebabs. Surprisingly successful - except for the pitta, which fell apart, but we decided it doesn't really need it anyway.
4. Aquarobics - it's rather fun and worth 3 weightwatchers points for 45 minutes messing around in the water. And I didn't get my hair wet so I don't have to wash it tomorrow.:p
5. I think my American students are sorted for their exam - they had booked flights back to the US on 27th April but the exam is on 29th. I have to write them a new paper so they can sit it before they leave - so glad for them as they said nice things to me yesterday about my teachingI had rather "picked on" one of them in the lesson (only to draw an answer out and I knew he could take it), afterwards I apologised and he said "Don't worry, hassle is my middle name" - after I laughed he said "No really, Hassel is my mother's maiden name and my real middle name"!! :rotfl:
OH, DS and I are off walking in the hills tomorrow, a pub lunch will be our reward :TI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Oh no, John Wayne has bin shot in the back. And not by injuns. Think the redcoats have had it though.
Another beer!0 -
CCP am really pleased for you
BoP give my best to Worthing, it was our main shopping town when we lived just along the coast and one of my best friends still lives there. Enjoy the day out
chicken sorry to hear your valentines gifts to each other were late, but it makes the celebrations last a bit longer. That's my theory anyway
Rainy-Days that's an early cut, wish my lawn was dry enough. They look lovely when they're cut for the first time ofter a long dreary winter, don't they?
Skint sorry to hear about the job, the best one is waiting for you round the corner
1. Took down all the curtains and put clean ones up, except for the lounge which has new ones for the first time in 11 years. I keep looking at them and tweaking them, they're so lovely
2. I have two dark brown fleeces in the airing cupboard which I'll line the new curtains with. They are lined but it's not very thick quality so will save me buying more.
3-in-1 nsd, npd, beautiful sunshiny day
4. Watching Monty Don's French Gardens, and have the Brian Epstein Story to watch on Arena after that.
5. I know this one is not until tomorrow but the anticipation is a pleasure. The weather forecast is good, lots of sunshine, so I'm planning to get out into the garden at least for a short time
Sweet dreams
eta not at all VJsmum, you'll love it wherever you go, between you and & I feel quite sad I've not been for so long. I'll have to look out for a travelling companion0
