Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Warm thoughts and (((hugs))) to all going through a difficult time

    1. Met a friend who I've not seen for a few weeks, she asked what I'd done because I look 10 years younger. No idea unless it's because I've changed my hair colour - again - but she's now my bestest friend ;)
    2. Have agreed to mentor two people for as long as necessary, and give a talk next Tues. There's a free meal included so it would be silly to turn it down...
    3. Mr M shop just before closing last night, I was looking at ys meats when the deli sa called out 'who wants a rotisserie chicken for 99p?' Another lady and I both said yes please but she got there first, but as I was walking away the sa called me back and very kindly said she'd mark another down for me. Also got a blackcurrant pie 19p, 2 bags baby parsnips 9p each, 4 pints whole milk 20p (now diluted to make 6 pints semi so just over 3p/pt), 2 danish loaves 10p each. And a twin pack of fresh cream and jam scones for 10p. This from the person who is trying to run down the freezer :o
    4. Sorted the wardrobes, got almost a full bag for the cs. Sadly there doesn't seem to be any extra space that needs filling though!
    5. Dneighbour gave me a big bunch of daffy's for doing a favour for her. I love daffy's :D

Enjoy the rest of the day, hope the white stuff stays away :)
  • Had a good day today
    1. day off work. Dry and sunny spells so got bedding washed & dried outside on line.
    2. went into town with a friend and did a tour of the CS only bought a book 99p
    3. cheap brunch in w'spoons
    4. offloaded 2 bags of clothes to CS and gift aided. Still loads left to get rid of but at least Ive made a start
    5. morroccan lamb casserole for tea. Threw in a few wilting veg lurking in the bottom of the fridge. Also cooked up a wrinkled swede with some carrots and made carrot and swede mash which has gone into freezer for sunday lunch

    5 for today

    1. Work ok - whinged a bit ( well ok ..a lot) about no one considering my access needs when sending me off to far flung courses :o. No need for me to go as I did an intensive version of this course two years ago !Someone else can go in my place so win - win really.

2.Nice and light in the evening and hens stay out until 5.30pm ish so I get to see them a bit .

    3. Saw my aunt briefly who was visiting my Mum . Cuddles with the tiny terrier :D despite the white hairs which are now all over my black coat .

4.Steak and chips for tea - OH has treated me , he must be after something.

    5.Day off tomorrow:)

Have a good evening all !

  • Sparrer: They are great reductions:TI'm finding more and more people are after mark downs now it is getting a lot harder, but there are still some out there.

I had quite a major winge at work but I am sure it will all come out in the wash next week...

1.I’m taking evening primrose and I have to say its a noticeable difference, if I could find something to help with the arthritis that would be nice!:o

2.A couple more free kindle books downloaded, just reading an inspiring tail of a couple who packed up and bought an irish smallholding.:p

3.I went through our receipts and we have finally got the grocery spend down to about 30 per week, without trying to hard it’s pretty much habit now, last night’s shop was RTC bad things like chocolate cupcakes and croissants, and some 6p bread is now in the freezer
4.DH went through the freezer and has created a shelf of a weeks meal plans, and worked out if we were to get snowed in:rotfl: we would be alright for about 3 or 4 weeks
5.The MSE email, how many of us will be back on here for 2.30 Friday ;)

    6. Tonights dinner is an on RTC collection from yesterday Chilli for 2 40p and paella to accompany it at 30p, could be interesting.:rotfl:

    1. Sold another CD, thanks daddikins for giving me your castoffs!

    2. Lovely email from a friend

    3. Finally went to see the dentist after too long....and came away with one filling on my broken tooth and a prescription for very fluoridey toothpaste. Thank goodness for the NHS!

    4. Thank goodness, also, for c&lpol (other painkillers are available ;) ) for DD as when I picked her up, she was very hot, headachey and earachey again :( She's lying on the sofa under a blanket watching Top Gear, so I reckon she'll live but is bound to need a night in mummykins' bed :)

    5. Freezer surprise dinner was delish!

    6. Looking forward to hopefully finishing a great book in bed tonight.

    7. It's Friday tomorrow!

    1. the marking is finished :j (till the next lot comes in)
    2. enjoyed cooking some "Twinks" this morning in the halogen. Was very laborious as could only do 4 at a time but the cooking time was the same as marking an exam paper so it gave me incentive to have finished a paper and then swap over a batch of twinks. Kept me happy anyway :D
    3. Took some twinks and a cold tea loaf into work "because Ken (a colleague) made me" - the gannets were on them in seconds and I had to fight my way through to save some for Ken. I had lots of praise and a request for "Lemon drizzle next time please".
    4. Toast and real butter for tea (rtc ages ago and frozen) as I didn't like my salmon and chucked it.
    5. Good teaching and seminar session

Day off tomorrow - got to get the house back in order.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Here are my pleasures for today (Thursday, hoorah!)

    1) Had a lie in... Not really what you want to do when it leaves you 30 seconds to get your son downstairs and dressed and into his waiting taxi... I pressed "dismiss" instead of "snooze" on my mobile phone's alarm. The taxi man saw the curtains get thrown open and the lights come on!

    2) Had lunch at my mum and dad's.

    3) Got lots of little jobs done like phone calls made, emails sent, went to the garage to pay my bill there etc.

    4) Made a chicken curry before sons got home from school.

    5) Brother came round 4.30ish and we used his circular saw to chop up the upstairs window frames that we changed last week.

    6) Went swimming with sons and my brother although this was less of a pleasure than normal because we have lost 2 lots of nose clips and you'd have thought that was a personal insult, the way bigger son went on and ON about it. He got more and more grumpy and rude and ended up with an hour off his bedtime.

    7) Ate the curry after swimming and brother had brought some pancakes with him for pudding.

    8) Both sons in bed and probably asleep (it is very quiet!) so I am sitting in front of the stove which is burning window frames. I don't know why they generate so much heat, it's boiling.
