Pleasure number 1 ,it's absolutely lashing with rain! We've not had proper rain in weeks and weeks, our grass hasn't been cut in over 6 weeks as it hasn't grown and is infact brown rather than green. So the rain is very welcome.....as long as it remembers to go back off again!

    2. Work was fine again. Busy but out on time.

    3. Took a big (and heavy ) bag of magazines to charity shop. These are ones I bought as "bargains" from the library....fill a bag for a few dollars.....fill your house with junk!! So I'm going through them as quick as I can and recycling them and hopefully someone else can get a read of them.

4 . Went to library and watched casualty.

    5. Mince and tatties for tea and as it turned out the perfect weather for them!

    6. A few weeks ago I had bought RTC sausage meat , so defrosted it and made the most delicious sausage rolls ! Don't think they'll last long!

    7. OH feeling a bit better ..he has been laughing tonight and managed 2 sausage rolls as well as his mince and tattles !

    8. Girls back to school today. Seem to have went okay. Seems strange just 2 out of 3 kids at school......and me still a young thing!

    9. Finished the book I was reading this morning at 6.30am. Obviously fell asleep reading last night as I was so near the end. ( away in bag to charity shop)

    10. Can I make a ten? parrots!!

Have a lovely day....first month of the year gone already! Nearly spring !

:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
  • Sorry couldn’t post last night as I just didn’t get back in until midnight, so for Weds...

    1. Work was lovely - with people out of the office I could just plough on I work well on my own steam
    2. I went straight from work over to see Dad and met DH over there.
    3. What started as a distinctly odd evening ended up lovely as people relaxed and a lovely family friend popped in who DH gets on with very well, Dad seemed to enjoy the conversation and laughter around him.
    4. DH was given a few bits and pieces car lights / car jack, it was lovely to see his face light up he was like a kid in sweet shop taking things apart, and reminiscing.
    5. Having not eaten all day got back at stupid o clock and mustered up energy to cook wholemeal rice and turkey, and also took some multivitins /evening primrose as I guessed today would be a struggle, getting old going out on work nights is a bit of a struggle.
    6. Found some honeycomb ice cream kind of did away with the eating well. If you can eat well that late?
    7. For today... I pre packed lunch last night so I remembered to take it and cheated and made sure I could literally fall out of bed into work clothes without “thinking”
    8. Work was fine – (well I had another evening primrose)
    9. Tonight I am using up anything left in the fridge in a “pasta surprise” tonight, there’s a random sausage, carrot, slice of ham, topped with last of the cheese, so that means
    10. Off to Mr T later, fingers crossed for maybe a few reduced items if our luck is in maybe who knows luck of the draw.
    11. It’s Friday tomorrow whooo hooo
    12. The postie delivered more free garden seeds, some runner beans turned up today! I need to do some gardening reading up.
    13. I treated myself to a fleece coat, the short story is a few months ago coming home from work my fleece was pinched by someone getting off the train, I didn’t notice till too late, I miss it and for some reason I really don’t like coats I’ve never found a comfortable one, today the same fleece (thou not in my purple colour) came up in the sale, for £12 so I went to buy it online and it promptly took off another 25% as well and gave free p&p.

    My pleasures for today (Thursday).

    VJ'smum - Halo foods?

    1) Cold nearly gone!

    2) Window man has been. :-) Arrived 9am, left after 7pm.

    3) Because I couldn't go out/upstairs all day, managed to get ridiculous amounts of paperwork done such as getting my tax disk on line (yes, it is due tomorrow!), checking internet banking, leaving Ebay feedback etc.

    4) Had yesterday's leftovers (sliced potato and brocolli in a cheese sauce) and added anchovies to make it Janssen's Temptation. Had that for my lunch.

    5) Brother walked up with his dog (probably to nose at the new windows!) and brought up some wire I needed to make a little jar I saved into a lantern. Have done that and am pleased with it.

    6) Sister's house went on the market today. :-)

All pleasures stopped for a while when sons came home. I hadn't really thought about smaller son not liking change or that he wouldn't go upstairs (and therefore to the loo) while the window man was up there. Well, he did WANT to go up to see what was going on but I had to go up with him - a lot of times....

Then I made the mistake of saying we would go swimming at 6pm but of course it took the man a lot longer so we couldn't go at all. Cue lots of hissing at me and talking about the "bl00dy man" and flapping and pacing about. Bigger son does not have any SEN but does have a touch of the dramatics so he had a fit of the vapours too and it was the "worst day of his life", apparently!

    7) Finally, the poor man was able to leave and smaller son calmed down again. Everything was (is) covered in dust so between us we changed the beds, hoovered and floors and curtains and tidied up. Bigger son made hot chocolate.

    8) Then we sat in my bed for stories etc and talked about making proper pizza dough but in the breadmaker. Smaller son said, "I'm not sure I want those antidotes on mine" :-D (Anchovies!)

    9) We did a lot of gazing out of the new window whilst in my bed (though it is pitch dark!) We couldn't really see out of the old ones as so much water had leaked inbetween the panes of glass.

    1. Fabulous day at work - spent it in a classroom helping out :)

    2. Hopefully it'll stand me in good stead for my teacher training interview next week, as I can now talk about experience in secondary school :)

    3. Have spent some time this evening preparing for my interview and am looking forward to it!

    4. Laughing my head off at Russell Howard on iplayer!

    5. A friend did me a great favour today - she picked up DD's trainers from my school to take to DD's as I got to work and realised they were still in the car, oops!

    6. Bumped into a chum whilst on my way to the library, we stopped for a good natter :)
