Sparrer - sending a big kiss for your poorly head, well it works for me when DD does it, so hopefully a virtual one will do good as well. Hope you have a much much better day today x

Chickenopolis - not sure whether "OH" and I are back together or not.....we met up about 3 weeks ago, had a chat and a cuddle (well, I can't resist his manly arms or something like that!), and then as I don't want to rush back into anything, and then he's been ill, I've popped in for 10 minutes to see him once, and 3 or so weeks later, we're going to go out on Friday night. He's also taking DD and I out for a swanky lunch on Sunday.

I think its fair to say we're good friends, not sure if its a relationship, but its certainly more laid-back for me at the moment, and I like the removal of pressure on me!

Talk about not being able to make my mind up eh?!

sparrer if it's not booting you can take it to a local computer repair shop. Ask them if they do data recovery (might be a heading now in yellow pages?) even if its the indexing gone haywire they can often do something but that tends to take more work. Anyway all the best with it. Hope your head's feeling better
bop am looking in yellow pages for a pride recovery service...
chicken unmidas day. We've all had those (in fact luton had one yesterday) we call them tar baby days here but i like the unmidas touch
Had one of those going cold moments yesterday when i thought i'd missed a meeting i'm chairing. But it's today at 9:30. So the relief was brief. Will need to go in early to prepare :-(

Sparrer - sorry to hear about your head. My windscreen wiper motor burned out recently and I found out that new from Renault they are silly money (£100ish!) So I went to a scrapyard and got the motor and the whole mechanism for £25 then just asked the garage to fit it. So that might be an option for you. If it is just the motor, it is a simple job to swap one for another.

Oops sparrerhope you're feeling a bit better today.

Chilly overnight and I needed a cardigan this morning! ( that's how cold it was :) )

Beautiful start to the day and I took photos of the eucalyptus trees reflected in the river at work, they were so beautiful.

Work was actually okay, got lots done but not mad and crazy like yesterday ....read my book on my 2 breaks!

DD1s pleasure......they were over staffed at her work and she did the kind thing......offered to go home:)

Tasty tea of: RTC sausages ( 2 different kinds) , onion, peppers, mushrooms pasta in a mushroom sauce .

First installment of DS s uni paid......GULP! A big lot of money ! But we have it saved up. .....just need to keep saving up!! ( forever!)

    Have a lovely day x

    4. Remembered to put a washing load in.[/QUOTE]

    1. Thanks pk - you've just reminded me to take a load out!

    2. sparrer and ccp - have I infected you and your computers with my recent sorts of rubbish days/machines/events? Sorry, if so. sparrer - please do put a HELP! onto the techie Threads here. I'm just about to have another go with help from santer, re:my continuing no-worky-printer prob. Although I did price-check on several low end spends yesterday@John Lewis.

    3. 2 Library books connected with silversmithing, supposedly present but missing from shelves, turned up by chance in wrong slots. I was leaving when I spotted one of them, miles from correct cubby.

    4. Have ordered a few bits for silversmithing, being v.careful & hopefully wise about Unnecessaries at Early Stages... Will regard overpayment of Course Fee[Crone Reduction]as helping.

    5. Have persisted through own version of 2 ccp and sparrer carp days. Phone calls all done. Other things computer and skype-y and France-ish ditto. Parcel Force farce ditto - boots can go back to NZ for refund. Had to write chq which Bank has cancelled for no fee when I explained. Can't sort donations to India without it costing bonkers more than I can give though. Temporarily consigned to the Too Hard box. Now to prep. for Spitalfields, fearful already of the 1936 10-ton Imperial 50 typewriter bought @w/e,along with other bits of old tonk....comme toujours, on verra.

6.Kitchen window sill is crowded with flowers and flowerings, some lush scent, all hinting at Spring.

The day goes on... might be back later. Happy hours to all.

    1. Got four loads of washing done and out on the line although I had to peg it down well!!

    2. Cleaned the house through

    3. Watched washing blowing about on the line while having a cup of tea.

    4. Got a yankee candle large jar half price for £5.00. I used £5.00 of vouchers at Blooms hence the reason it came to a fiver. Christmas stock they were trying to shift I don't mind, it still smells nice.

    5. Candle is lit and the washing is nearly dry but it is on the clothes horse airing off so the place smells really nice. :D

    1. YS bread (hmm, like I need any more bread products?!?)

    2. Treated DD to a Horrible Histories magazine as she's been a little poppet recently and does love HH so much....and it did come with WW1 trench "goodies" (maggots, lice and whatnot! certainly lives up to its name...) :)

    3. Relaxing at home after a busy day at work.

    4. Yummy soup made from leftover veg from Monday's pasta bake for dinner, slurp!

    5. Managed to get DD out of bed without too much fuss this morning!

    6. Finally got my contract at work - and my pay rate is every so slightly higher than I thought it was, woohoo! :)

    7. As it was lovely and sunny after school, DD and I went to the park to play :):)

No, don't worry, it's just me. It's an old joke amongst family and friends that I can break anything - cars, mobile phones and even intercity trains are all on my 'destroy' list. :o

    Chicken - I love 'un-Midas' - I'm borrowing that. :D

sparrer - I hope your head's better by now - that sounded very ouch indeed!

    1) Reverbed another penny, and found the one I thought I'd lost yesterday so it had some company in my pocket.

    2) IT was meant to be another NSD as there was nothing I needed, but I went to visit my letting agent at lunchtime and couldn't find anywhere to park except the W8rose car park, which meant I had to go in as, understandably, they're not keen on people using the car park without using the shop. While in there I found their cookies are currently on SO so I nabbed the last packet of ginger ones - purely for medical reasons, you understand, to treat the side-effects of the antibiotics. ;)

    3) Talking of which, I only have two days of these horrible things left to go. :j I don't want to get my hopes up too much but my foot's looking much better, so I really hope it will have been worth the effort.

    4) Finally managed to reclaim a small amount of outstanding expenses for work, although I can't say the finance dept made it easy - they've changed the rules on how to claim without telling anyone, and the guy on the counter sent me back three times to get more information before he'd pay me the money. I got there in the end, at least - it's about the hardest earned £4 I've ever had!

    5) Phoned my utility meter readings through to the energy company, so they should stop hassling me now.

    Have a good evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
