Evening
Pleasures for today,
1. Packed lunches and breakfasts for everyone again today, I really must try to keep this up. I had yummy HM butternut squash soup and gave a portion to a friend at work who hadn't brought lunch with them.
2. LSD - just spent a £1 on a lettuce for salad in wraps tomorrow.
3. We were supposed to be having grilled fish for dinner but we all fancied something more stodgy so made chilli with curly fries. Will have the fish tomorrow with noodles and salad.
4. Another friend has been talked into being a volunteer on the moonwalk in May and have another 2 friends who are thinking about it.:D
5. Not very MSE but have ordered some cupcakes for OH's birthday. While I can bake I am rubbish at making things look pretty. The ones I have ordered look like Cookie Monster plus my justification is if we go out to dinner and take birthday cake we won't need to buy pudding at the restaurant. See MSE really;)
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Gosh, went to get my fill, and wallop the ball hit the net. Took a sip, and blurped the froth in my hairs. Not tat I could consider ever gloating, but lost it when the third went in. Best still, my cup at work will be on show in the morn, round these Luton fans in SPARRA lands.
And now DD, I sees yous has run. Yep. I gloat. Especially as Wrecksham could only draw as well!!0 -
Glad to hear some chirpier peeps today. Hugs to those not. OK, here goes:
- Finally garage confessed they had managed to fix my car and I can have it back tomorrow. Don't know why they wouldn't tell me without being hounded!
- Have crossed a fair few things off my task lists; 'new' system (Getting Stuff Done) is working a treat and I feel much more organised. :j
- Office remains tidy:T
- Doing more work at place near home seems to be working out ok, saves me time, petrol and hassle compared to travelling to the place I usually work:D
- My stash of half price C@dburys bubbly milk choc remains undetected:rotfl:

Quick 5 or so for today:
1) Slightly less ill.
2) Not a bad sleep.
3) Phoned the window frame company to check something about the sills. 2 more sleeps till I have all double glazing!
4) Had a tasty tea. Some roast veg left from yesterday (sweet potato, parsnip and a beetroot); chopped them up then made them into an omelette.
5) Bigger son had left me a treasure hunt to do while he was at school. His clues are difficult! One was "Dictionary manager" so I got all the dictionaries out and stared at them for a while then looked on the bookshelves generally. Turns out the next post-it-note clue was IN the dictionary on the page which had the word "manager" on it! Another clue was "Rise" which eventually led me to the self raising flour...
6) Did a treasure hunt for sons which led them all over the house before they found creme eggs on the front windowsill. Smaller son had not realised Top Gear was on yesterday (he is slightly obsessed) so while they were eating the creme eggs, Top Gear was put on iplayer and hot chocolate served. :-)
7) Bath for me then bed, 2 hot water bottles and Holby City.0 -
Pleased the posts are bright and cheery on the whole, sadly I've had a rubbish day because my computer has gone haywire. Like a fool I hadn't got ANYTHING backed up so have lost all my documents and attachments. So, so stupid and so angry with myself , there's a lot of hard work that members of the fellowship have put in, plus minutes, lists of many kinds etc., all gone
Then I took the car to the garage as arranged but they can't replace the wiper motor as of course they only deal in mechanics, not electrics. So I have to wait til Friday to take the car 10 miles away, and hope they can fix it on that day or it means another cancellation of my planned visit to DM.
They say things come in threes, the last was when I got out of the car, tripped on the kerb and went headlong into the corner of the porch wall. Fortunately my head must be stronger than the porch as I only saw stars, not blood, but there's an egg on my forehead which is turning into a very fetching shade of purple
The good news is -
1. It didn't rain so no difficulty in driving to the garage and back
2. nsd
3. Found a home for the orange/yellow curtains I bought last year, that didn't match the sitting room. DD is going to use the fabric to make more rag bags
4. Melon - sometimes it can be a little hard, or too soft - today it was just perfect
5. Silly emails with DS, always brightens my evening
Sweet dreams0 -
Ouch! Sparrer! Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope things get sorted out with car and that you are able to see your DM. May i ask, what are the 'ragbags' that your DD makes?
Frith, your treasure hunts for one another sound excellent fun!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
NSD Challenge: October 0/140
