my very boring 5 for today
1. quieter day at work today now latest deadline has passed
2. sun shining.... only for a short while but better than rain and snow
3. nice sausage pasta bake for tea using up some shrivelled mushroom & red pepper and a tin of tomato soup with a little cheese grated on top. ENough left over to go in freezer for lunches at work next week
4. just watching a programme on the Beach Boys, lovely harmonies ...reminds me of childhood listening to mum and dads music during sunday lunch (grew up listening to Beach Boys, Glen Campbell, Simon and Garfunkel, ELO to name just a few)
5. its friday, no more work till tuesday :j

skint - I was about to head for Monty D when name 'Delius' caught my eye for beeb4. Have loved his music ever since Ken Russell's glorious 'A Song of Summer' embedded in NZ teendom. Max Adrian gives a peerless performance as FD. So, am still filled with that and the next prog, celebrating 50 years since the Beatles' 'Love Me Do' and think again what a gentle gent Brian Epstein clearly was, too vulnerable, at risk to anyone who told him they liked him....
Where is the Beach Boys prog please? Another of my Greats. To see Brian Wilson, even now, for Blonde, is on the to-do list.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Frith, no, I want her to leave M for P too! But now all a bit tnese for my liking. I listen on ipod as brushing teeth at bed time (Sat night v dull, nothing to listen to) so don't know today's plot yet, am carefully avoiding finding out on this thread.
Katholikos, the whole thing is about the everyday pleasures. Some days more than others but all interesting to read about.
vjsmum, there can never be too much about food, I reckon.
How do others keep track of comments in response to posts? By the time I come to the end and write my post, I've forgotten who said what, doh. To whoever wrote them, I loved the pony and ... doh, forgotten the other thing. Hopeless.
Anyway:- last night's great clothes swap party which got me nice new things and introduced me to nice new people
- not being burgled in the night after forgetting to lock the door (and forgetting to get the cat in too, oops, much miaowing this morning in indignation)
- lovely text from rarely seen but lovely friend
- excellent takeaway curry thanks to DM with broken arm (staying, and keen to help)
- new kettle via freecycler, what a wonderful organisation it is

ampersand, no I'm afraid I've no idea what was going on on the M11, it's a bit far over for me. Thank you for the complement re the rag bags, they are very unusual. Re Brian Epstein, he was a very kind person who I had the pleasure of meeting on many occasions.
BoP pleased Jenny is doing well
katholicos your posts are lovely. Posts don't have to be momentous or earth shattering, it's nice to read the ones where life just jogs along on a fairly even keel so please never apologise for what you write
mms hope you feel better now
Frith thanks again for the heads up re ww motor. Took the car into the electrical workshop today and was quoted £130 for a new motor plus 2 hours labour at £60  an hour! A mechanic friend is getting one for me at £26 and will happily fit it for nothing - I'll happily give him a decent '£thank you' for doing it
Skint thanks, the old feathers don't stay ruffled for long. I'll do keyboard...well, I can play chopsticks and Clair de Lune!
caroline - don't tell but often I bring up the page twice, one to refer to and one to type
1. Managed to drive to the electrics place before the rain came down
2. as written to Frith, above
3. car elecs place drove me to DD's house, and picked me up afterwards
4. spent the morning with DD
5. sunshine all afternoon
Sweet dreams0 -
Saturday scone (sultana)
Groceries at decent price
Lovely chats with 2 of my best friend from home
Warm enough to dry the washing....back to having to do school uniforms again
Took 2 more bags of mags to charity shop.... That's them all sorted , the ones I'm keeping are foody ones.... I should really just hand in stuff then walk away however bought a pair of beige-y jeans half price and a top for DD2 from her favourite shop .
I have put weight on when I was home ( no willpower when it came to marks and Spencer's!) so whilst I make amends the 2 pairs of jeans I bought this week for a total of $6 are a bigger sizehowever they are comfy!! When I lose this excess baggage I will re- donate!
Have a lovely weekend0 -
Yesterday's archers still not up so having to wait with baited breath (not badger baited breath i hasten to add)
Love the band skint
caroline Yesterday i wanted to respond to ccp but it was on the previous page and of course by the time i'd read all the others all i could remember was reply to ccp so i added ccp in bold, posted, went back a page to remember, then edited post :rotfl:
katholics we love all posts here. If they give the poster os pleasure they're welcome. That said it's also a very supportive thread when shtf. Oh and of course bops posts are often so inpenetrable we've no idea :rotfl:
vjsmum food challenges - what a good idea!
Well groundhog day has come round again (guess what film i'll be watching...again) it's also candlemas, the time traditionally all xmas decs should come down, a time for new beginnings, a time for opening windows, taking a candle to each room and saying goodbye to winter (well we can wish). The sun is shining here but very frosty so may not be goodbye to winter after all.
Candlemas Day is clear and bright, / winter will have another bite. / If Candlemas Day brings cloud and rain, / winter is gone and will not come again.

Pooh, love this especially when one amongst the gals cannot be separated from chocolate. Pleasures lick that are hard to beat.
Just listened to Keith Arthur, the best understated naturist on the radio. On about angling projects. A charity that gives kids a chance, instead of the waste heap. So when some media organ and overpaid no celebs charity forces some urch to shove a bucket in my face, I shall not give to them. Instead, give a pound or two to this. Programme is Fishermans Blues, on Talk Sport.
5 Cor, what s nite.
Well gots rugby to do, so catch round ears later.0 -
bop - he can be as naturist as he pleases, but methinks you were setting a naturalist to catch an ampersprat.
dd- apologies if I plot spoiled, but no! What does my sticker say?
