Sparrer - love that link, some of them are so obvious aren't they? I think my DD must have seen it as she made brownie in a mug yesterday
Oh and I am an idiot driving round with snow on my roof :p

    Yesterdays

    1. Driving to work and actually looking at the snow on the trees and the hedgerows. I detest snow - it's cold, wet and nasty but was soooo beautiful, like someone had drawn it on the trees
    2. The most wonderful compliment about my teaching I have ever had :o from a student
    3. John Finnemore's blog - thank goodness I have now read the entire thing and can get my life back :rotfl:
    4. Chilli for tea, made the day before and heated up in 5 minutes. Eaten with doritos - yummy
    5. Teaching my full time class - they were so interested. It is nice to be back teaching.

    Have a good day all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Well done Murray :j:j:j

(nearly choked on me sausage and egg but it was worth it!) :D
  • Thanks for the link sparrer

    Didnt post yesterday as was worn out so a combined five for yesterday and today;

    1. 6 NSDs in a row

    2. An afternoon reading through my cookbooks and looking at recipes online. I feel February's meal plan will be rather ambitious, so many things I want to try!

    3. A much needed session in the kitchen, been abit lazy since xmas but really missed the adventure that is cooking and so the takeaway secret fried chicken is chilling in the fridge, as is the cookie dough- my first attempt at both, hopefully I'll be impressed and a pot of sweet potato and lentil soup is on the hob. May also whip up some lemon buns.

    4. Heart to heart with OH last night. He's not been himself lately, they are really taking advantage of his kind nature at work, almost bullying him I would say. He's been ever so down. It was nice for him to open up and let me in rather than shut me out and I think we both felt better for it.

    5. A sit down and cuppa.

Hope your all keeping warm and safe, this weathers going on for a while- even I'm fed up of it and I love snow and winter!

Robert Burns was born in Ayr
Now he sits In Albert Square
Robbie Burns was once quite bright
Now he's covered in pigeon sh##e.
If you want to see him there

mhags how nice of them to give you a public holiday for Burns. They'll say it's for oz day but we know different ;-)

    4) colleague gave me a lift back to the bottom of my road. She took one look at my road (steep) and agreed with me to drop me at the bottom
    5) ceilidh tonight is still on (though have suggested to lift-giver he call me when he's setting off and I will lug my trusty accordion down to the bus stop on the main road)

  • Sparrer I love the link, for me it’s 41 spaghetti to light the candles.
    Happy Burns night.
    1. Managed to get the washing, up to date last night after 3 loads, nice to know it won’t be there for the weekend.
    2. I am working from home, I’ve cheated a bit by doing a fair bit last night, glad there were no calls thou as the neighbours decided to drill a hole in their wall creating all sorts of noise.
    3. I love watching the wildlife in the garden on the feeders and I am always fascinated by the woodpeckers but I have to sit very still to get a good look at them.:p
    4. Changed the meal plan around as I am home to a slow cooked stew, but I didn’t have much left for it not sure how it will turn out.:o
    5. I started tidying up the office, by that I mean I sat and chose one of the 8 piles of paperwork on the floor:o to plough through with a bin beside me, 2 rubbish bags later and one file now full of car paperwork, it still looks very daunting as lots still to do but can’t get it all done in one sitting unfortunately, a pleasure to start on it at least.
    6. Recorded father brown and just watched it.
    7. It’s the start of the weekend.:T
    8. 1 bag of Charity shop clothes to deliver tomorrow, or they lurk about for when a boot fair is next on.

    1. Defrosted a tub of 'porridge' for breakfast only to find it was cheese sauce. Enjoyed my breakfast of F&F and lunch of cauli cheese :D

I thought you meant that you realised it was cheese sauce after you had started eating it.:p

An anticipated pleasure tonight......c'mon Andy Murray !!

    1. The tennis was awesome!:T

    2. Spring rolls and sweet chili sauce as a reward for going out in the freezing cold to my doctor's appointment. I also had half a block of chocolate!:o

    3. I feel virtuous though as I started exercising this week. My stomach muscles really hurt.

    4. Nice glass of cider on the go at the moment.

    5. I made an overpayment on my mortgage today which isn't really OS but it brought me pleasure.:)
  • Good evening all !

PK - I did laugh at your free kindle book about a 100 year old person climbing out of a window. In real life my job involves making sure 100 year old people don't fall/climb out of windows in certain settings:rotfl:Hope you feel better soon xx

CCP - thank you ! OH is usually a misery ,this is just amplified since his tooth was extracted yesterday.Still its not pleasant , but it was necessary.

Frith - wotya studying ?? Hope you got on ok??

Katholicos- I have a photo of my Dad in a red glitter wig taken at a party in the 1980's. He looks like Victor Meldrew but with a ridicoulous wig on:D !Buy it I agree with your DD!

    6 for today

    1. Day off

    2. Spent some time in the garden , pottering with critters and clearing up the empty plastic bottles the foxes nabbed out of the recyling box strewn around the garden.

    3. Mum said the tiny terrier nipped through the gate behind her as she fed my hens and they went BOK BOK !!! but dog headed for my back door and ignored hens completely which is good.I wouldn't trust her though.

4.Washing dried on line smells of fresh air

5.OH bought me a new blender as I broke the other one when making white choc and custard cookies .. it smoked a lot.

    6. OH making a fish pie - I am a bit dubious as not a fishy person - it may end up in the hens .;)

Have a lovely weekend all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    1. Andy Murray's win :)

    2. Had to buy 7 choccie bars for work (honest guv'nor) out of my own money and I'll be reimbursed eventually......so was very pleased to see larger than other bars for 80p each rather than £1+!

    3. Was feeling a bit low when I went shopping, so a couple of naughty but nice things when in the trolley (:( as I neither need nor can afford them) but I've not scoffed all of them :)

    4. DD's out for tea at a friend's so I've had yummy cheese and marmite sarnie :)

    5. My leftover sausages and mash at lunchtime were delish!

    6. Great day at work, very busy though!

    7. Have ordered another baking book through an offer I saw on here which will either be for DD or a chum who loves baking :)

    8. Still hoping to go away for the weekend if there's no snow chez the parents tonight.

    9. It's FRIDAY :) that's a pleasure in itself!

    10. Am planning an official DD in my bed night tonight so we can watch Bake Off (on iplayer!)

    11. DD slept in her own bed all night last night!! She generally does that when a babysitter puts her to bed, shame I can't afford to go out every night..........lol!

    Evening all.

A late pleasure for yesterday: I went to the pub quiz and my team won - and won by a good margin, too - then I won the bonus question as well. :D A neighbouring team accused us (not entirely seriously) of 'showing off' - such bad losers! :rotfl:

    1) Went to my GP and saw a different doctor this time, who didn't think more surgery was appropriate until they've worked out why it hasn't healed after the first attempt. That's quite a relief, despite having to take some rather nasty antibiotics while waiting for the test results to come back. (As you suggested, mhagster, they're now trying to find out what exactly is causing the infection - well predicted!)

    2) My new new mobile phone is being delivered on Monday. :j

    3) Not very OS, but definitely a pleasure - I decided I couldn't force myself to eat the second portion of the unliked soup I had earlier in the week, so threw it in the office bin and went a bought a sandwich and a cup of H3inz tomato soup from Gr3ggs. :o It was so much nicer than the alternative, though.

    4) Lazy dinner tonight - I treated myself to one of the M&$ meal deals so all I have to do is put the stuff in the oven. A bowlful of raspberry and coconut pudding may well follow. ;)

    5) I've just found out that there's ice skating on one of the satellite channels later. :j

RevolvingDoor - snap on the apple wobbleade!

DD - love that poem! :rotfl: I hope you got to dream of a luxury hotel last night.

sparrer - I have to confess that, finding myself in the same position, I would probably have eaten the cheese sauce for breakfast, possibly with a slice of bread and butter - I adore cheese sauce and could happily eat it as a meal. :o
Back after a very long break!
