5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

A collection... I realised I hadn't posted mine for a while, I was enjoying reading everybody else's.
1. Sort of pleasure of an unexpected NSD, when my night out on Tuesday was cancelled. Roads and paths are very icy. I have ice grippers but have no need to go out. I've missed the fresh air and exercise though.
It leaves me with some spare cash however - when I can get to the shops I know what needed bits and pieces I shall get for the house.
2. Tidying the bedroom I decided to declutter a box where I had stored goodness knows what and discovered half a dozen missing useful items. No need now to buy wet wipes, or another reel of duct tape, but I wish I'd found the No More Nails earlier. Why had I stored that and the duct tape in the bedroom?!
3. A DIY pedicure again. What utter bliss.
4. Finding three tinted document sleeves for a friend who has Meares-Irlen syndrome. This is a form of dyslexia which makes reading on white paper difficult. I knew I had some somewhere, decluttering brings such benefits. Also found a sizeable wodge of decent white paper for the printer.
5. All mess (not much, TBH) being mine with DS being away. He has a habit of making 2 am snacks and leaving the kitchen like the bomb dropped. I could scream some mornings ...
Also having a little treat in the cupboard/fridge/freezer untouched, rather than disappeared because DS has discovered it.
6. The Diaries of Nella Last:Writing in War and Peace has arrived from Am*zon after just 2 days.
The wartime diary was my favourite and this is a big chunk of previously unpublished work -95% of 209 wartime pages is new to print, then there are the peace diaries - I have both already, but that doesn't matter.
6. Decluttering lots of bits and pieces, and hooray, a genuine charity bag came through the door - and this for a charity I love supporting, the Air Ambulance.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Evening all.
My 5 for today...
1. Roads clear for getting to and from hospital on time.
2. Had a talk with DS. He lives with his head in the clouds. He needs to get his backside in gear pretty sharpish and work out what he is going to do when his college course ends....he isn't attending regularly so may get kicked off the course anyway at this rate. Fool.
3. Got a cold weather payment in my account. Gobsmacked, never had one before. Pleasant surprise.
4. I am not well enough to tend an allotment and so i grow veggies in raised beds in the garden as and when i am able. I am looking forward to getting some more seed sown this weekend, in preparation for spring coming....have to keep reminding myself that it won't be long now! Watched allotment wars on iplayer. I couldn't hack an allotment anyway because although i can be a gobby mare at times, i am something of an introvert and hate the thought of people nosing at what i am doing, so would not like an allotment anyway. Unless it had very high hedges and accepted my necessary laid back approach to growing fruit and veg!
5. Had leftover pasta for tea. Hooray for leftovers!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
NSD Challenge: October 0/140 -
CCP Have some Yellow cheeriness
Vjsmum jetlag is such a pain in the backside! Took me 2 weeks in Scotland then 2 weeks in Australia ....so 4 weeks in an upside down time zone , wide awake at crazy imes when you know you really should be asleep!
Well a few pleasures ( the 37o heat is not a pleasure!)
Came home and cooked today, made quiche & then DD1 made ham and onion and pepper and ricotta fritters, using up contents of the fridge.
An attempt at brownies but didn't have enough proper ingredients so kind of improvised....DD2 a brownieaholic did not like them! Not up to the usual standard, however used up stuff in the cupboard. Made shortbread too.....and an apple pie, I was on a roll!
Was pleasurable to leave work today, was busy and one of moody young pups was in a bad mood as other colleague had some words with her over her attitude! This did not improve her mood but needed saying!
OH isn't very well and finally agreed to go and see GP yesterday...I have been nagging since Monday ! The pleasure being he has been seen! He is taking the day off work tomorrow.
can't quite think of 5....oh Andy Murray is in the semi finals, that's good news!
Have a good day!0 -

Gosh is that the time? Skint cips, mushy peas and gravy. That's a norfen thing is that. And now, I am wizarded at deflected bog rolls. Was it one hand or a drop kick. We need to nose round here.
5 Balls. Please be carefully what you gob off, because you may become lamented like some kind of folk hero. When your limelight catches the glint of your eyes, and the camera focuses, be sure that the marks on your white and silken underwear is not showing. Because when the hawks come to roost, they may not be as forgiving to the cupid stunt your collapsed paper bag really is.
4 See, told you lot, and I nose. I am getting the wind up of DD. Is not long to our head to head. I am ready tuned to the Lord Tonder of The Theatre of Fish, waiting his depict actions of glorious goals. & can listen as well, as it be on her favourite radio player extreme.

5. Reading the 100 year old man who climbed out of the window on kindle and really enjoying it, just downloaded another freebie of Shadowmagic.:)0 -
Evening all.
Thanks very much for your kind good wishes.I think most of the low mood is just down to the time of year - I suspected this at lunchtime when I went into M&$ to buy some bread to go with my lunch (their cheese knot rolls are ) and came out with a raspberry and coconut pudding which was on special offer.
I don't usually have a particularly sweet tooth but spend much of the winter desperately craving cake.
I intended to put the pudding in the freezer (honest I did!) but I realised when I got it home that it isn't freezable, so I'll just have to eat it now. Darn.
1) Woke up just before my alarm was due to go off from a dream in which I was staying in a very posh modern hotel with no real reason for being there, so I had nothing to do except laze in the hot tub and drink free coffee. In reality I'd be bored out of my mind within a few hours, but it was a nice dream!
2) A brief shower of snow turned my plain black mog into a black and white one.
3) Flicking through a healthy eating guide I ordered because it had some money-off vouchers in it, and there's actually a few interesting recipes as well.
4) HM bacon and beans for lunch, with some utterly  cheese bread. My attempts at making my own haven't been very successful so far - I might have another go over the weekend to try and make cheese bread that actually tastes of cheese.
5) Got a bit of my essay plan written, despite mog letting me know he didn't approve and biting me hard enough to leave a mark while I was trying to type.
Chicken - hope your OH recovers from the tooth-loss soon.
Have a warm and safe evening, all.Back after a very long break!0
