Home. Bed made, sheets are thrown.
Sleep tite all. Wink wink.0 -
Evening all.
My day today didn't start well, with a visit to my GP as the site of the operation I had on my foot back in September is stubbornly refusing to heal.I've got a week's worth of antibiotics (the yellow ones, which is slightly heartening
) and, if they don't fix matters, I'll have to have another operation - knowing how painful it was last time, the very thought makes me want to
, so I really hope the antibiotics work.
1) My colleagues' sympathy when I got to work after hearing the bad news.
2) Strange yellow stuff outside the windows all day - what could it have been?
3) Popped into M&$ to get some boring-but-necessaries (knickers) and found a fake cashmere jumper reduced from £17.50 to £6. :money: A girl can never have too many cosy jumpers, particularly at that price!
4) Reverbed 5p.
5) I finish work a bit earlier on Friday and it was still just about light when I left the building. Roll on spring! :j
6) Some colleagues came back from an event (at which they were served something they termed 'a champagne-like substance' :rotfl:) with some LO food - a couple of squares of coffee and walnut cake cheered me up wonderfully.
7) Found a pizza with a 'try me free' label at the supermarket - it's not my favourite brand or topping but I'll never turn down a free pizza! :money:
8) Got home to find my flat smelt of the scented candle I got out just after Christmas but which I haven't been able to smell since, so it seems that my sense of smell has finally returned. :j
9) Cuddles with mog - one good thing about cold weather is that mog suddenly wants to curl up on my lap at every opportunity.
10) Friday. :j I just hope my new phone doesn't turn up too early tomorrow and spoil my planned lie-in!
Broomstick - hugs to you, and I hope whatever it is gets sorted out asap.
Skint - I'm glad your car's OK.
VJsmum - safe journey, have a great time, and I hope all goes well.Back after a very long break!0 -
Five for today;
1. Meal planned until the 3rd of Feb and placed an online order for all the main bits using a £12 off first time shopper code :money:feels nice to be back operating in an orderly fashion-got all the meals written up in my household diary!
2. Soup for lunch :rotfl:
3. Scraped out the leftover wax at the bottom of a candle and popped it in my oil burner, got a few more hours of scent from it.
4. First coat of paint on some cardboard boxes that are soon to become my fancy top of wardrobe storage.
5. About to have a cuppa tea and a few sneaky chocolates that Grandad gave me.Comper, Blogger & OS-erCompetition prizes: £6/£20150 -
Sounds nasty ccp hope it gets better with ABs
1) got lift to hospital cos i was running late
2) good day's work including getting underway with module , getting a new group i'm heading sorted and writing first draft of abstract for international conference (prague this time)
3) very nice lunch of their lentil and veg soup and my HM cheese sarnie. A pound for the soup, so i felt quite MSE
4) was putting 20p in for each cup of tea but woman who organises milk rota said to take the money back and she'll add me to the rota but only once every 4 months cos i'll be working there one day a week
5) took ds back to uni. Sad but good to see him so settled in.

Saturday morning here and children not usually seen at this time on a Saturday morning are wide awake ......darn you jetlag!!
Friday pleasures!
1. Popped into work as planned to bank and order for next week. Had arranged to meet my friend there so had a good blether with her for 1.5 hours which was nice. Caught up on each others news. She is trying to find me a new job.....is trying to find 4 people new jobs, how nice of her to make the effort! She is in a job that involves lots of networking!
2. Home, in the heat! It was 40o and so hot however....upstairs got gutted as it has the decent air con and we could work without too much effort.
3. DD2 has had a growth spurt recently, having been teeny tiny for ages and has some really gorgeous clothes, so going to eba-y them rather than just charity shop and have several more bags for charity shop.
4. Went through my clothes( again! ) and have a bin liner full for charity sop, will take them all over later today.
5. Had a wee snooze.....dozed of in the heat of downstairs. Afternoon naps will finish soon back to work on Monday!
6. We had takeaway for dinner which was nice, these too will finish soon as I start my spending cuts in earnest from next week!
It's to be a much cooler and more pleasant 23 today with some much needed rain. I read the other day that the optimum temperature for the human body is between 18-23o .....I wholeheartedly agree! Any higher and I start to wane.
We had 2 elmails from our letting agent back home ....
1. They want to renew lease for 6 months......hurrah! Then 6 hours later...
2. They have had a change in circumstances and won't be renewing! Booooo.
This means unless another tenant is found soon, no rent coming in, we have to start to pay council tax and we have to heat an empty house over winter again. Whilst we managed this before I now have a son about to start university which is going to be a huge drain on our resources so keeping fingers and toes crossed for a new tenant!
Enjoy whats left of your evening.....off to do grocery shopping!0 -
I usually journal these - but I love the idea of sharing simple pleasures...
1) Chocolate brioche and Thomas with my little man this morning before school.
2) A lovely lunch time club with all of the little lovelies at school who wanted to be inside and cosy.
3) A catch up with a friend after school.
4) Snuggling with my little man and enjoying leftovers in our PJs.
5) Going to bed knowing it's the weekend and we are all home tomorrow!0 -
Hello dingdongsaving - we are nice here, please don't journal us
Getting packed into my nice new (and reasonably priced) suitcase, having discovered my other one had wonky wheels
Pleasures
1. Coffee and catch up with my chum. She is always moaning about her OH (and he can be a miserable get). it seems his relationship with his oldest daughter is pretty poor, which is a shame as she is a nice girl and is leaving for Uni soon. The pleasures are that she can get it off her chest and that we seem to be alright with our 2 - aside from normal teenage moodiness. (and that's just the OH :rotfl:)
2. Nice new sandals arrived when the company said they would
3. Lasagne for tea - though not one of my better ones
4. Chuckling over something DS said, when I asked if he would miss me. "No, i don't miss people. It isn't in my book of necessities!" :rotfl: Cheeky s0d
5. Ironing marathon - the pleasure was watching a programme about the highest grossing songs of all time. Who'd a thought that would have been no. 1? And where was "My Way?"
Off tomoz. Should have wifi in hotel so you can be subjected to my tropical pleasures of the dayI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
hope so we want lots of tropical pleasures.
1. HM soup and egg and chips for lunch
2, its beenbright sunny and dry today
3 frosty night
4 warm fire

Pleasures for today,
1. Yummy sandwich for lunch was supposed to be having lunch with friend but her boss was being a pain so just bought a sandwich which was cheaper and bought some apples so fairly LSD.
2. Friend at work bought me a packet of maltesers, was good and only ate half and saved the rest.
3. Menu plan done for next week and shopping list wrote ready for tomorrow.
4. Have stuck to this weeks meal plan even though had busy week so quite impressed.
5. Getting my unread emails done to under 25 at work
Hugs to all who need them0 -
1. NSD
2. Colleague treated me and another colleague to a hot chocolate from Co%sta, slurp!
3. Lovely chats with another colleague
4. Have learned my lesson re: needing to be ultra organised in the mornings, today was a struggle as I hadn't got everything ready last night due to having a couple of glasses of wine and just jumping into bed when I got home....
5. Good drive with DD up to parents, she is perfect company
Night all zzzzz0
