Hope the hair dye tips help. Collected pleasures:
    1. Cycling again - two days running - as it finally wasn't lashing with rain or howling a gale. Took two bags of books to the CS.

    2. Donated a much newer assortment of non-fiction books (all published in the last year) to the library. I won't read them again, but now lots of people will have the chance.

    3. Managing to keep things quite neat and tidy without my cleaner. Only drawback is that DS got used to the cleaner tidying up after him.

    4. Work has picked up. I won't see the money for this work until end Feb/early March though.

    5. The Premium Bonds I bought for DS with money left by my Mum for this purpose have come up with £25 for him. One of mine won £25 2 years ago.

    6. SiL's birthday present, ordered online late last night through Interflora, was delivered this morning. She loved it.
The first time I ordered through Interflora they failed to deliver, but my DB & SiL got the flowers for free when I complained. Since then, their service has been brilliant.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

Chickenopolis LOL re. your DM and Dame Maggie!

DundeeDoll you better prepare your mum to a fair amount of profanity! But very very funny! I want to go see Pitch Perfect, too.

    Mine for today:

    1. Nice low carb breakfast, with the veggie quoin bacon, eggs, mushrooms, the works (minus toast obviously)

    2. Good osteopathy session with a bit of a workout thrown in

    3. Managed to get new battery and strap for DH's watch, he is very pleased

    4. Friend around to dinner, loved the spicy lentil and veg soup

    5. Above friend brought me a gorgeous homemade chutney

    6. She also brought wool winder tools so I turned the 4 skeins into balls, to make DH's scarf, my next project after I finish the current one (child's cable scarf).

    Good night all x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    2. Spent 99p for two large veggie sausage rolls and ate them both myself. YuM?

Was that from Holland & B?:)

    1. I watched a few episodes of Homes Under the Hammer that I had saved on my Tivo. I love that show.:p

    2. Decluttered some carp from my house, only a few bits but they were actually junk and I don't know why I was keeping them.:D

    3. Nice homemade meals all day.

    4. Doing the washing tonight as it's cheaper than in the day.

    5 NSD.

Hiya there, nope it was from the £1 bakeshop...or something like that...you get 2 pies or sausage rolls for £1 or a bag of cakes for £1 or two loaves for £1. The first time i saw one was in Northwich and then they opened one in a town local to me which is where i happened to be today. Really nice they were though, tasted meaty if you know what i mean.

I didn't know h & b did them? Live and learn eh?! Lol!

Safe journey VJsmum. I hope you get to see at least some of the country, I understand it's very similar to Kerala and that was stunning . The outfit sounds fine, sedate and reasonably well covered up as befits a Lady of your class when meeting a Minister ;)
mcculloch I'm using the £land dyes and they're absolutely fine, if a little drying, but a good condition with olive oil takes care of that
Tealady what lovely news re your DM :)
BoP you'll have to take care of The Marmalade Mog til the Spring, far too cold for me to venture out and going to get worse. And no more feeding him that tinned rubbish!
Chicken what a coincidence, a friend and I were just saying we need knit/make some more coats for the homeless peoples dogs. Would be interested in the pattern if you come across it.

    1. Less time-wasting on the comp today, more time doing other things and enjoying myself in the process
    2. Started to do cryptic crosswords again - late FiL who was a GP reckoned a crossword or other word puzzle a day helps prevent dementia. As my short term memory has always been rubbish I'm hoping to see some improvement, eventually! ;)
    3. Too cold to be outside so kept warm in the kitchen by making bread and tea loaves
    4. Got rid of two of those annoying piles of letters, books etc that seem to build up too quickly.
    5. Gave the neighbour with the awful dogs a bag of pointer biscuits as my fussy mutt won't touch them. She was very grateful, I think also relieved to know there's no hard feelings between us

    Sleep tight :)
  • SPARRA the current Lady Black made pasta last week. Mog not interested. When I get home today, he will be after some decent food. Chicken wings tonites, in curried sauciness.

  • Good afternoon all !

Skintos - I must say that you were very ...calm re your car getting bumped. Bloke in Ford Granada estate wrote my teeny fiat off at a junction when I was much younger and about 6 stone wet through . I got hold of him and dragged him down the street as I thought he was getting in his car to drive off .. he wasn't he was just going to move it to the side of the road.My ex's sister drove past as I was dragging him around and told my ex about it and said she felt sorry for blokey! :rotfl::o. Adrenalin does funny things to a girl .

VJsmum - linen look sounds good ! Not kahki as it shows sweaty bits. Not good. Have fun and a safe journey xx Gangnam

Sparrer - I will PM a pattern to you . Its really retro and you will like where its from xx

    7 for today

    1. Day off.

    2. Haircut :D

    3. Had to sit in a photo booth as needed two passport photos - tongue on roof of mouth makes double chin disappear:TStill look like a ghost though .

    4.Brother over DM's. I love my DBro.

    5.Lovely sunny day here !

    6. Banked some change.

    7. Not a pleasure but made me laugh .. new Cath Kidston bag strap came undone and bag fell off my shoulder into a puddle of what I assume was dog wee as it was the ONLY wet spot on an otherwise dry pavement in the whole street :rotfl:typical !

Have a good POETS day all
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

Well I posted a rather minimalist five last night and the system ate it so I gave up because things had suddenly got rather complicated at home. They are still complicated but I'm going to post five now and get back to what I'm doing. If I don't reappear 'til next week that's why. :)

    Five random pleasures:

    1. HM veg soup and dippy eggs followed by icecream and jelly for supper last night. :D

    2. Still been keeping up with the NSDs.

    3. House still relatively clean and decluttered. Still staying on top of my cleared and labelled 'decluttered' spaces.

    4. Have learnt to knit linen stitch. I love the look of it.

    5. Lovely sitting and chatting with a friend at tea time.

    Have a good evening everyone.

    B x
