3. Collie cuddles earlier in day.
4. An initially 'poor' appointment at the hospital that eventually turned out okay.
5. Tiger bread....much as i like homebaked bread, the sm tiger bread is deliciously moreish.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Thursday evening at 9pm, just about to get dark, still warm so will need fan on overnight. Been awake since 2 am, i really need jetlag to sort itself before I'm back to work next week!
Anyway, at a decent time I started to potter about and tidied laundry room and my office. Collected a bagful of stuff for charity shop and dropped that off.
Hoovered all downstairs and washed floors. Washing out and back in, in no time!
Went up to post office to post some UK chocolate to friend in Sydney...hope it's not a puddle when she opens it if this heat continues! The PO lady complemented me on my new dress...a lovely linen red and white floral dress I bought last week at a suitably cheap price, reduced, reduced and reduced again
Girls and I got the train to town 2 along from us, could have driven just as quick but was lovely to go on the train and felt like more of an outing. Gorgeous scenery but everything is so dry.
Had a nice lunch and saw a TV ' celebrity' having his lunch there too!
Stopped in at library and watched casualty and appreciated the air con. Borrowed 3 DVDs.
Home for my wee afternoon snooze! Set the alarm to get up though!
Made a very delicious chicken fried rice. I have enjoyed cooking this week. I work with food and sometimes can see it far enough when I get home, so it's been nice to enjoy it this week. Extra portion of chicken in freezer.
DD2 and I swept up in the garden, so many leaves on the ground. SOme in garden bin and eucalyptus bark now mulch in front garden. We are responsible for the grass verges at front of house ( on street) and have to cut the grass and keep pavements clear.
Pudding of RTC sweet pastry shells ( 6 for 99c) filed with ice cream, chopped banana and strawberries and topped with cream. Very yummy. Gave my hardworking boy 2poor soul has had a cold and jetlag and work!
Just one call from work today and easily dealt with on phone.
Feeling more in control as I sort stuff out in the house. Tomorrow I plan to gut upstairs where girls reside! They have decent air con and it's to be about 40 o.......will reward with trip to air conned cinema!
Have a lovely day and awffy warm hugs to anyone who needs one0 -

Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
1. Not a NSD, as I've lost a library book
but the lovely librarian charged me £10 rather than £17 for it and said that if I find it within the next 6 months and bring it in with the receipt, I'll get that back!
2. She also wiped off the fines that were accruing on the lost book, not a huge amount but every little helps!
3. Bumped into some chums and had a good natter
4. Great day at work
5. DD crept into my bed in the night and so I woke up to cuddles
6. I'm going out for a couple of hours this evening, have a babysitter booked and everything! Just over to chums for a girly natter and wine, slurp. I decided that it was worth paying for a babysitter just this once0 -
Evening all.
Apologies for the lack of post yesterday but I could only think of one pleasure, which was getting some bargain smoked salmon (100% extra free, then 50% off the price, which seemed pretty good to me :money:).
For today I've got:
1) Booked my hotel for my trip to Reading - I checked various comparison websites but found it was cheapest to go via the hotel chain's own site, and I got cashback as well. :money:
2) Wibbly wobbly window has finally been fixed - it turned out to simply be a bent frame which took the glazier 5 minutes to repair, and he's going to report my sticky front door to the landlord as well. :A
3) Took lunch into work for the fourth day in a row - I've only broken my resolution to do so once so far this year and that was when I was ill so I think I can be excused. (If I'd had any sense I would have realised that if I was too ill to make a sandwich I was too ill to go to work, but apparently I haven't got that much sense.)
4) Found a previously unseen folder on my computer which, when emptied, has freed up 50% of my computer's memory and improved the performance no end. :j
5) Making a variation on my favourite tuna pesto pasta for dinner - usually I use green pesto but this time I've got a jar of the red stuff open so I'll see how well that works instead.
6) NSD, or at least it will be until I go to the pub quiz in a bit.
VJsmum - have a safe trip and a lovely time in Sri Lanka - Sri Lankan curries are supposed to be fantastic so I'm more than a tiny bit jealous.
Stay warm, all, except for mhagster who should stay cool!Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening.
1. I missed my train as I was busy drinking a cuppa and watching a woodpecker on the feeder in the garden.
2. But I got seats on the trains so could get engrossed in my kindle book.
3. Right now a Pasta bake is cooking away still going to plan.
4. Feeling a bit better today mood wise I’ve been feeling a bit in the dumps but seem to have edged out of it a bit, reckon it’s the prospect of a snow day.
5. Have to pop out for bread to make work sandwiches later, will try and be good as the freezer is happy.0 -
Mhags. Used to work thru first day back, then go to bed at normal time. That way the body clock ticks back into position.
5 Last nites hens were well singing come ten. Past eight. Good to see such vibrant buzz. Did feel sorry, but their frog failed to turn up, so what cn I say.
4 Bit lack of CF! At the moment. Hotel radio thing does not has it and my tick took larm clock only buzzes the now. Talk sport will do for now,
3 Roadkill at 8wflowers. Pie, £3.90 down to 57p lunch sorted. Sour grapes reduced again. Treated to free cuppa tea, as that coffee mucks & and others has is....... had cheapo but as well. Wash down with the tiger wobbleades later. Watch me roar.
2 Seems according to the excess, we are in for a ... Hmmm.
1 Last night always from Lady Black and the cat. SPARRA, can do a drop off at the Park and Ride, if you get your bath chariot there!
Rite, off to read my book and sup.
Keep tite all. SSS first.0 -
