An exciting day so far and its only 4.30!

    1) If we can include late last night in today's 5, did enjoy watching the Mutism programme, the girl with the glasses was just like my son, not only the refusal to talk but the constant looking away and embarrassment she had. Phoned my mum this afternoon and she said she had videod it and she and dad had watched it this morning.

    2) Went to college this morning and it went well! Our assessment will be 3 x 20 minutes of counselling and today was the first time ever I have been the "counsellor" in our role playing practice sessions and found the 20 minutes flew by!

    3) Went to Sainsburys after college and had a sneaky, shop bought sandwich in the car. Not very Old Style but I was famished.

    4) Got home and there was a letter for little son from (drum roll....) Blue Peter. He and big son wrote them a letter about recycling MONTHS ago (October, I think) and Blue Peter have not only replied but sent him a Blue Peter badge - one of the green ones at that!

    5) Going out in a minute to take my sister the paperwork I did for her and to be given some more (there is a small renumeration involved because each load takes me 4 hours or more). We are having tea out at Frankie and Benny's, first time we've had tea out since just after we had swine flu and no one could be bothered to cook in early December.

P.S Not had very good news about my Grandma (who fell and hurt her hip last week). She is still in hospital and not really doing anything - not sitting up, talking very much or eating. She is on a drip so she won't get dehydrated but its strange that she has gone from being in fantastic physical health to just lying there after falling over. It certainly isn't the first time she has fallen (she has been blind for many years) but it has never knocked her for six like this before. :-(

I've had a good day today, so my five are quite early:

    1) Had my favourite breakfast this morning - the crust of my new HM loaf with butter and peanut butter, and a banana. Not the healthiest breakfast in the world, but sooo nice!

    2) My HM muffins went down very well at work. I'll have to bake for my colleagues more often if the results get such an enthusiastic reaction.

    3) My manager at work has recommended that I attend a conference in Coventry. OK, Coventry wouldn't be my first choice but, as I haven't been to any function outside the office for over 5 years, I'm happy to accept - I just hope the boss feels the same way and approves the suggestion.

    4) I've finally received the cinema tickets I was told I'd won back in November. I know I shouldn't complain over something I haven't paid for, but honestly - how long does it take to put 4 cinema tickets in an envelope?!

    5) My sister's got another job interview on Friday. Fingers crossed she gets this one - she's been out of work since October, despite having over a dozen interviews, including a couple of second interviews.

    6) It's leeks and ham in cheese sauce for dinner. Yum yum!

ACEY - I hope your grandmother feels better soon, physically and mentally. Hopefully it's just a temporary loss of confidence and she'll soon be up and about again.

Back after a very long break!

Acey - hope your grandma is back on her feet soon, after a good rest in the hospital, hugs.

mummysaver - ouch! your poor DD, what a trouper :)

The middle of the week is getting better, maybe I just had real Mondayitis ;)

    1. Found 1p when putting the sofabed back as a sofa this morning. We had to sleep on the sofa as all 3 beds were eventually out of action - 2 with liquid damage (leaking hot water bottle and bedwetting, grrr). Thank goodness I have a sofabed as well. It was really comfy, and as my bed is probably still wet *sigh*, I'll be back on there tonight.

    2. Lost 5lb :):)

    3. Had a sauna and steam and the world's shortest swim at lunchtime, then went back to the office with a bright red nose! :)

    4. a NSD, first for February, yippee

    5. Surprised DD by taking her for a swim this afternon, courtesy of British Ga$ and their free swim for customers vouchers.
