1 Toddler group this morning. The other volunteer was off sick and the group support worker had to be at another group so I ran it alone. Was brilliant fun. I just got out loads of paint and glitter!! I have rather nice spodges of green, purple and orange on me now!!! :rotfl:
2 Under 5's cooking this afternoon. Dd made gingerbread biscuits. It was in the school and I didnt have to clear up any of the mess made!! :j
3 Family seal after school. The kids did colouring, listened to stories and ate cake! And I got to sit down for 2 minutes.
4 Defrosted some bolognaise so a quick easy tea and Dd had 3 (yes 3) spoonfuls of it!! Result - she normally wont eat any!
5 Went to shop and only bought milk and sugar that I needed!!! :T
Got to rush, ds has got his reading book again!0 -
My five lovelies today were:
1. Making rich biscuits for the biscuit tin. Someone here gave me the recipe but I can't find them now, so very grateful. I hate buying biscuits from the supermarket because the organic ones are pricey and not terribly tasty either.:p
2. Found some wool to finish my knitted snuggle-bunny for someone's birthday.
3. Ordered The Complete Tight-wad Gazette from Amazon! Very excited about getting a new book. I've persuaded myself that the outlay will pay dividends in helping me in my OS lifestyle. In true MSE tradition, I shall be passing this book on to my daughter, who suffers from the 'money-runs':rotfl: Ooh - have I just made up a new clever-clogs catch-phrase?
4.Oh, forgot to mention that I used my left-over biscuit-dough to make a squashed-fly (currants - I'm NOT THAT money-saving!) eccles biscuit thingy. Hubby thought it was marvellous. I always try my experiments on hubby first:D
5.I'm getting a free electric-monitor from British Gas because I'm going on to 'smart-energy' where you submit your own meter readings monthly on-line and stuff0 -
1) tea, porridge and honey in bed
2) having enough Tesco clubcard points to renew RAC membership
3) lunchtime latte and chat with work friend
4) keeping calm and carrying on at work
5) Mock the Week tonight"We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
"There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women" - Madeleine Albright0 -
1. FOOD SHOPPING WHICH MENT STICKING TO THE LIST AND SAVING MONEY
2.making a big pan of mince, onion, pearl barley and lentils. really stretches the meat and keeps costs down
3.hearing a bird sing
4.its warmer than yesterday
5.reading this web site"The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0 -
Well it's a real struggle today, but I'll try
1) Got stabbed in the leg with an umbrella by a pupil, at least she'll be excluded & so I will have a few days without her swearing at me.
2) DD1 phoned for a chat.
3) Didn't have to cook tonight, there was enough leftovers from last night.
4) Started a new crochet blanket, this one is shades of green & yellow.
5) It's nearly the weekend.
Phew, made it.
Never let success go to your head, never let failure go to your heart.0 -
1. Picked up some books for DD from a freecycler at lunchtime, just need to get the smoke smell out of them, any ideas?
2. Lost 3lbThe skirt I'm wearing today is getting very loose.
3. 2 colleagues came in today bringing their gorgeous babies for us to cuddle, I felt very broody for a while.
4. DD joined me on the sofa bed about 2am last night and was very cuddly. She's already in my bed tonight...hmm...bit of a pattern coming here!0 -
Evening All,
Hope you are all well.
I'm really tired tonight - had a 12 hour day at work that just flew by. So early night for me!!
1) My boss telling that when she goes on maternity in 2 months, I will no longer be reporting into someone of her level, I will be reporting straight into the director. PHEW!!! I was really worried about who my next line manager was going to be. there were 3 options, one of which I had a dalliance with (though no one know that and it was before he was promoted); one of which is a complete !!!! and make his team miserable, and the third is a lovely lady however I didn't want to report into her. So I'm really pleased... I am just waiting for it to be officially confirmed.
2) Having leftovers for supper so no need to even think when I got home.
3) Looking forward to seeing a friend tomorrow evening for her 30th birthday party.
4) Early night *yawn*
5) Getting given two tickets to the movies as a freebee from work. I never go to the movies as it is so rediculously expensive. So I'm looking forward to finding something I really want to see. Maybe The Lovely Bones?
Sleep well everyone.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Had a lovely day
1. Step Gs came for a few days and has been so sweet, got him to eat banana panckes, major triumph!
2. Ds called in, always makes my day.
3. Arranging Dd's baby shower - budget event - and its all coming together with help from MSE'ers.
4. Dd's friend brought tiny new daughter to see us, so had a cuddle - joy, can't wait till its my new grandson!
5. Made a list of shopping - includes chicken feed cos I get my ex battery hens next week and Im so excited!
6. extra one today, saw a juvenile woodpecker feeding in our garden.
All in all feeling good and excited about the next few months after a dreadful year last year. Am beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel after retiring to look after Dh. Dont think I would have time to work, looking after Dh, growing my own, chickens and new grandson. Rather like my new life ( am crossing fingers behind my back just in case )Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
