I see my last 2 posts have gone again.
    They were here this morning.
I was also hoping broomstick was alright when I heard more bad forecasts and reports.
I, too, have a cauliflower to use up smart-ish.
    How many of us today?

My pleasures for today so far (Monday)

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Sons off to school happily, all homework done.

    3) Went to see my psych nurse and now I can go fortnightly rather than weekly.

    4) Went to the Range to get stuff for Santa's Grotto. Got 4m of material for the ceiling (sort of chiffon with stars), tinsel and some fairy lights.

    5) Sainsburys briefly.

    6) Had 2 tonnes of logs delivered at 3 and have *just* finished wheelbarrowing them round to the back of the house and have stacked them up.

    7) Cheating ready meal for tea.

    8) ISIHAC later.

    3. Long chat to DM on phone

    4. Rain has stopped and wind dropped today. Good job really as DS was out powerboating in the solent today as part of his college course and I was getting a bit worried about the weather

    5. phoned Doc for results of my xrays and blood tests which show the pain in my hands is NOT arthritis :j

VJsmum - you can gas the Tamworth out tonight - pay back time :rotfl:

Broomstick - I hope that you are ok??

Congratulations Master Skint on getting your licence, I'm sure you'll be a fab driver :)

    1. NSD

    2. Helped out at toddler group/coffee morning again and had a great time. Have been invited for lunch with the other volunteers next week at someone's house, am going to make some bread :)

    3. DD and her chum are having lots of fun and I've had a bit of time 'off'......

    4. Had another horrible night's sleep, as DD kept on creeping into my room until 3:30am when I finally caved in and let her come in with me (I didn't realise it was that late until she was snuggling down.....) but got up and pootled around my much tidier house for a while and got a few bits done, so not all wasted time.

    4. Nice chats to chums at the school gates

    5. DD and her friend did guitar practice (friend is older and better at guitar, so am hoping DD will be inspired!)

    6. Had a long chat with my mum about some issues I've been having with DD and her anguish on Saturday when she decided to talk about her rubbish dad, and got very sad and upset. Feel better about it all now, and am going to keep on being me, but also try to reassure DD even more that whilst things are all in flux in our lives in recent months, she is still number 1 in my life and no matter what happens and wherever we live, we will still be US, a silly, cuddly, funny, hard-working, in love forever and ever mummy daughter TEAM. Phew!

    7. Have done a bit of maths revision for my exam on Wednesday and feel quite calm about it, long may that last!

    8. And I leave you with this.......always cheers me up when I'm feeling a bit blue, just love those kittens! http://www.rathergood.com/independent_woman

    Evening

Skint - Well done to your DS:j
Kittikins - Good luck with the exam

    Pleasures for today,
    1. RTC Chocolate Croissant for breakfast, yummy
    2. Silly quiz at work this morning on Health and Safety but did win a large box of Thorntons Chocolates so not all bad.
    3. Rescued a large plate of grated cheese from a lunch at work that was going to be thrown. Now safely in my fridge:money:
    4. Packed lunches for everyone again today, trying to keep this up as much as possible as saves a fortune. Think OH and DD may fail on Wednesday as I will not be here. I have the joy of visiting our Wakefield office but the positive is I get to stay in a rather nice hotel paid for by work.
    5. Friend brought me back some very bargainous wine back from his recent trip to France. Should last us over the Christmas period.

Hugs to all who need them

    3. I also watched the Grand Prix, which I don't normally. T'was exciting and Button is very pretty isn't he?

I know what you mean about Mr Button, but personally I think I'd go for Mark Webber as winner of the easy-on-the-eye stakes. ;)

Today has been a pretty lousy day on nearly all fronts, but I'll try for five good things:

    1) Agreed with my line manager that I won't go into work tomorrow until after my GP appointment, as I'd be in for less than an hour before coming back to practically where I started (the surgery is 5 minutes' walk from my front door), so I get a lie-in in the morning. :j

    2) Took a shortcut through the park at lunchtime and the sun came out very briefly, making the wet leaves look very sparkly and attractive.

    3) A colleague told me I could rearrange a RM delivery for a chosen day, so I didn't have to spend my lunchbreak queuing in the post office.

    4) Received my sister's birthday present through the post and, despite the packaging being very badly damaged, the present's OK.

    5) Watching an old episode of Top Gear - it's very silly, but it always makes me smile.

    See you tomorrow, everyone.

Oh, and no cauliflower cheese for me, thanks all the same - if there's one vegetable I can't stand, it's cauliflower. _pale_ It always seems to me to be a dreadful thing to do to some poor, innocent cheese sauce!
Back after a very long break!
