Evening all,
Haven't posted in a while due to a new job, but I seem (hope) to be getting on top of things now.
1 Whilst we're on the subject of eye candy, I saw Skyfall at the weekend in the local arts' centre. I wasn't a fan of Daniel Craig until he came out of the sea in his shorts
2 I've taken some books to the charity shop. They've been lying around for aaaaaaaaaaaages, but at last I've been able to take them. I've signed up for Gift Aid with them, so everything I donate they can claim gift aid on. Bonus!
3 Our fixed rate on electricity and gas is coming to an end, so I've swapped to another fixed rate. Gutted that everything is going up in price.
4 Father-in-law has given us some garlic to plant. Just need to be able to get across the water-logged garden to plant them...
5 Chilli con carne for supper, from the freezer! Will need to make another batch soon.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Evening all. A quick five from me:
1) Lie-in this morning.
2) Found out that, because I've been diagnosed with a heart problem - albeit an incredibly minor one - I'm now entitled to an annual flu jab. I guess that's a long-term pleasure, as I'm certainly not looking forward to being turned into a human kebab on Friday.
3) Got into the office to find that all except one of my colleagues were out in meetings - the one remaining person was so delighted to see another human being that she gave me a hug when I arrived!
4) A portion of veggie moussaka, from the freezer, for lunch - I'd forgotten how good it was.
5) Cuddles with mog when I got in - the one good thing about winter is that he suddenly becomes the cuddliest cat on the planet.
Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Think i've got ds's cold :-( quick 5 before i go infect the band
1) banana on toast for brekkie. Makes me feel mse for using up overripe nana but actually i love that brekkie :P
2) dd2 is applying for a job fingers crossed
3) ds seems to be improving bu has doctor's note anyway
4) 2 members of staff back from travels so sweeties in admin office :P

I told her it was very old and had probably never been out of its box and hoped she wouldn't mind it was very obviously second hand and she doesn't. Hope this will set a new trend as I love second hand stuff!
3. Our friend sent us home last night with two bags crammed full of tins, rice and spaghetti that she said she and her children won't eat. Apparently they get given hampers of food from the harvest festival collections and other times etc, and has a lot of food, some of which they don't like too much, so she was very happy to give us soups a-plenty!
4. We had a delicious posh soup in a tin and baked potatoes for dinner, nomnomnom.
5. The plasterers came and have nearly done the lot - the kitchen now looks much better and just a few bits to finish off.
6. I did lots of wallpaper stripping, just haven't bothered to pick up the bits.....lazy me
7. Sorted out DD's n-i-t-s and put stuff on my hair just in case, but after combing I can thankfully say that I was free of the critters! (hope noone reading this is itchy now, lol)

10. DD has been asking me maths questions as she knows its my weaker subject, bless her!0 -
Good luck with the tests Kittikins - remember to show your working out. Isn't that what they say?:D
DD - I am currently only on series 1 of the Killing through BT vision. THe jumpers are already a star.
Frith - Go Mr Lawyer
Chicken - quinoa = bleurghh
1. Drove to work which was just as well as I had an unexpected pile of marking to bring home
2. Funny seminar session at lunchtime with a colleague teaching us about on line marking. I am a terrible student, dreadfully disruptive
3. Colleague and I discussing some work she wants me to do tomorrow and thursday for her. Got terribly giggly and silly when I saw on the drawing that she wants me to measure "the house mistresses front garden" much talk of "lady gardens" full of "neatly trimmed bushes" and then we :rotfl: till we cried
4 Soup and pud night. HM chicken soup and HM apple pie - still no yum.
5. Met the president of my professional institution this morning. Nice chap and we got free cake.

Evening all
Hope everyone is safe and sound, it's quite depressing watching the rain continuously coming down, wondering if it'll ever stop, and hearing of all the tragic events it's causing for so many. However, will try to find five -
1. Although built on a flood plain we haven't, so far, got much standing water, just where a few of the drains aren't coping well.
2. Took the DGC's Advent calendars to DD this morning, stopped for a sandwich lunch and ran her to work this afternoon to save her walking in the wind and rain
3. Came home and put a lamb shank in the slow cooker with lots of veggies for tomorrow's dinner, it smells yummy
4. Made myself a salmon and prawn parcel for today's dinner with broad beans and a small jacket. Very yummy!
5. Exchanging silly emails with DS, discussing DGD3's upcoming birthday and ideas for the C-word
Sleep well0 -

DD - Hunted, what was that all about ? Have googled the ending for other peoples interpretation but everyone else seems as confused as me ! 1 month later and theres Sam with a baby - it cant be the original baby as that was over 1 year earlier and theres no way that baby was 12 months old - but if its only 1 month later the baby seemed too big to only be a few weeks old - was Sam in heaven reunited with her baby (One of the theories on the www) ?? Who knows !! I see series 2 has been scrapped, no surprise there then !0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Morning Skint - ditto I was awake at 3.30am (Tamworth snoring and full moon I reckon). Watched a programme on the Beeb about people who use the Food Banks - not impressed with the case studies shown, some people taking the p** working for cash in hand getting benefits and pleading poverty to food bank people . One bloke got £500 worth of food .Not fair on those who donate willingly and those who are really in need. Plus I donated some nice Xmas food stuff yesterday and now I wish I hadn't !
VJsmum- You do make me laugh . Lady gardens indeed:rotfl:
DD - get well now !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
skint she never said she lost the baby so my assumption all the way through was that was the real reason she hid for a year. What i didnt get was i assume she wa pretend shot just like at the start bu this time so she could disappear but how was that possible with at least 2 out to kill her? And who only had half a finger? And who was her mysteriousguardian angel? And why was her mum killed? Apart from that totally clear :rotfl:MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
