    Hello

I've never posted on this thread before (I must admit I'd never really noticed it was here :o), but it looks really nice so I hope no-one minds if I join in?

    My five for yesterday:
    1. Getting a refund from Lakeland for a rather dodgy fleece I'd bought in their sale - I really wasn't angling for a refund but I'm quite grateful as it means I can pass it off to a charity shop without feeling guilty over the waste of money.
    2. HM tuna and pesto pasta for lunch - considerably cheaper and probably much tastier than anything I could buy. :)
    3. Getting to my glass crafts evening class (easier to type than to say!) and finding that I've finally learnt how to cut glass properly, after 7 weeks of trying. :j
    4. Reaping the rewards of my new policy of cooking more than I need and freezing half - when I got home from my evening class I could take my pick from 5 different meals in the freezer. :D
    5. And the last of the carrot cake for afters. Shame it was the last piece, though. :(
    And my five for today:
    1. Buying a sandwich for lunch (as I'd run out of bread) and discovering after a couple of bites that my HM sandwiches are much nicer. It's just rather satisfying, somehow!
    2. My meal planning using storecupboard stuff is finally starting to work out - my shopping list for this evening only had 5 items on it (plus some smoked salmon, which I didn't need but was half price - I do love my smoked salmon! :o)
    3. Finally tracking down a CD my mum has been trying to find for herself for months.
    4. Stopping for a chat with the new peeps who are moving in next door. I hardly know anyone in the block now as so many people have moved out recently, so it's nice to at least know someone.
    5. Switching the bread maker on when I got home. It just makes me feel so domestic (in a good way, obviously).
All of which rather makes up for being woken at 4am this morning by a starving cat, as I forgot to feed him before going to bed last night. :o:o:o:o

Sorry that's a bit long - future posts will be shorter, I promise.

Oh, and congratulations on your hubby's new job, Hester! :T
Back after a very long break!

    Evening all,

    1) Hardup Hester's husband getting a new job. That is such fabulous news. Well done and congratulations.

    2) Scarpering from work at 3.45 to take a colleague to the airport. It does mean that I need to do some work this weekend, but that's ok.

    3) Making peanut butter and almond biscuits. I added choc chips and coconut to the second batch so that they are not all the same.

    4) Having a lovely tidy house in preparation for my new cleaner coming to visit.

    5) Putting on a load of washing... only one more to do this weekend.

    6) Receiving £10 vouchers from the photo shop after I had written to them to say that I thought it was bad customer service for them to tell me that if I ordered 2 more photos (I had ordered 98 already) I would have got them for 14p each rather than 19p each.

    Have a great weekend.

    Hi All,

Well done to Hardup Hesters DH - Great News! :j and hello to CCP :)

    Birthday Wednesday 5

    1. Lovely cards and pressies from DH and family.
    2. Lovely cards and pressies from Colleagues and kids at school. (So touched by pressies from kids who obviously don't have a lot). My TA helped my class make a big card with drawings of all the kids and got them all to sign it. Another thing I will never be able to throw out!:o
    3. Nandos with the family. Had a birthday voucher, so meal for 5 came to £20. :money:
    4. DD's look of amazement that DM had just sent a card. (No present).
    5. Quick dash to COSTCO on the way to Nandos to get £4.50 potatoes. Top night out:rotfl:

Thanks for your Birthday wishes too.

    Thursday 5

    1. Quiet day at work. (No chairs were thrown!)
    2. dd invited to pantomime with her friend.(Free with a Night Less Ordinary).
    3. DH coming voucher shopping in M&S.
    4. Special offer M&S meal for tea. Yum!
    5. Early night!

Will catch up tomorrow. Need my bed. Night xx

    Todays blessings:-

    1) Making todays lunch entirely from leftovers! pasta from Weds, sliced sausages from yesterday, pepper and red onion from Christmas veg box:) and mayo again from Christmas!

    2) Reading some good housekeeping magazines at the ms centre while I had oxygen, I love Good housekeeping but can't really justify buying them! if I find recipes I like then they let me take them home! :D

    3) Knowing where I can now take any magazines I no longer want! ;)

    4) Sharing a fish and chip supper with dh, 1 portion between us both is plenty and moneysaving! better to cook from scatch I know but not up to it today:o

    5) Like many others, coming on here and hearing Hesters good news! Well done Hesters hubby!:T

Puts head around the door and waves :hello: (I've think I've stopped drowning :D) I haven't caught up with the thread yet but did read Hester's good news at the top of this page. Well done H's hubby!

    My pleasures for Friday:

    1. Went to Mr S tonight and got given a freebie 'food saver' ie. a sandwich box. They were doing some kind of promotion on saving left overs.

    2. Found a £20 note that I thought had disappeared off the face of the earth. :D

    3. Putting several more pound coins into my £1 a day sealed pot so I've now got January's money saved. The tin is starting to feel satisfyingly heavy.

    4. DSs have been helping lots today.

    5. The sunshine and colours of the scenery between the hail and snow flurries we had this afternoon was like a late summer's evening. Bizarre but we enjoyed it as we drove home.

    Sleep well
