  • Phew, had good day YestDi. Ms Sonny did football, so idiots thrown out and loads of Stewards and Police. I did Rugby, two stedards, one on car park and one at bar!!

5 Watching cat suffer for an extra hour for his food. No, the duvet was not going to move. He is now fed!

4 Ms Sonny tooks me out last eve, and got me some wobbleades, grilled steak. Yummy. She loves me. But she then plonked on table a Yorkshire Glass. Bloody thing had handle on it. Now I do not use Yorkshire Glasses, as people from that county use the glass with Handle to tie Whippets on. That way, they know which glass is who's and the dog does not run away. Fortunaltey I had proper glass and decanted accordingly.

3 Felt for the new singlepersonm, KK, as a first date stuck out like a sore thumb. Jeers mate, but he was the most gobskate baffoon ever, boasting this and that. I thought, Gordon Bennito. I hops that KK has more sense and will choose accordingly. They left in separate cars though. Phew.

2 JUst had a fanatastic Grilled Roast. Jam on crumpets and a cup of tea. All served by Ms Sonny. :heartpuls

1 Do the corporation buses run this early!

Like the sound of your 'warm savoury mince' CCP - aka 'nursery mince' for me. Love it still and as a next day brekkie on toast - yumscrum!
sparrer - it was the San Sebastian car and yes, lengthy danglies over much water during their long afternoon whatever, we unfairly decided.
Glad you're back, broomstick. Stutters matter not, as I have gratefully found here. It is forgiving and affirming, even in the downs. Just a quiet companionable place.
    ###########################
    1. Back late-ish from GC, further off than I thought and little car orange lighty told me so, but was OK. Again, when mostly unpacked, suddenly realised it was Montalbano night and thought 'Goody!'. Watched from bed.

    2. Extra hour allowed catch up with last week's and I've just done so, says she defiantly. Ah, that music! I am not un-critique: that brain, I fear, never switches off. So, illogically unpeopled streets, locales, ridiculous women, Berlusconi on-its-head judiciary, discontinuities etc. are all there. But, so is the music...

    3. Stopped at Garden Centre en route back. It has an A** reputation for Good Works, along with peerless cs and stock. Had 4 x NGS £5 vouchers and their promo '£5 off £20+over' to use. Came away with 2 phalaenopsis, 2 feeders, 2 ceanothus[this will be my 3rd attempt with these, at least. dkw such failure] and a scented winter sth else shrub[looks spiraea-ish], scented muscari bulbs and paid 99p. Even I felt dreadful over this, so redressed matters in another way. It's a good place to go for peace and garden advice too. So, best plant the ceanothus asap and mulch immediately. Yes, lift beetroot ditto. Yes, strip-pick remaining runners now. Shared slug, blight, crop paucity, season bizarre tales pleasurably.

    4. No bus use après tout, but car did 5 out-of-zone stops that slotted neatly together over 10 hours and I appreciated:
    - using it to bring back Good Stuff bulk, big shrubs[all reduced in the Halt and Lame section]
    - picking up more almond milk free from oot Waitrose
    - seeing a beautiful crisp moon, near full, through countryside, then chatting to the French family parked alongside about it and other things.
-the efficiency of de-mister and heater.

    5. ...and, I'd remembered to tuck wintersweet away in growhouse and zip the front down before going out.

    6. Bought last 2 double choc Waitrose naughty cakes as treat to sneak to neighbour's door hier soir, thinking Surreptitiously Done. Went to alter phone time early today, only to find her Merci msg from last night. I'd thought she'd be asleep. Turns out they were Very Nice Indeed:-).

    7. Feeling SO snug in recent best bedtime cardie friend.

    8. Trying hard to catch up on Antiques Road Trip and was delighted to see last proper home town featured with dear, dear B as auctioneer[very well regarded, too, by both competitors], who did all he could before and after R's suicide to bring justice to bear. It delighted me that he and R became great instant friends, being of that Old School b/g. I'd known him via auctions and property sooner, a man of absolute probity, total discretion and huge knowledge of everyone and everything over a wide locale. Also saw D do well, another long-known acquaintance/freelance auctioneer and thought again how I love it, when well done. Some are dreadful, but is even this a ploy? je me demande.

mhagster - hope it was a scone day yesterday.

Melbourne Cup picking time is upon us. Still lots of lovely Frankel stuff doing the rounds in Nmkt. I feel lucky to have this in my orbit.

It's another Bunnies/Burrows/Snugs day by the look of things and it certainly felt that way when I wandered out earlier. I was back in, sharpish.
    Have a recuperation Sunday everyone.

CCP - I know the exact peanut cookies you are talking about - I love the peanut bits that have fallen off in the plastic tray . OU essay time .. cupboards need tidying etc???

Yes, those are the ones! I'm still at the research stage for my essay, so my cupboards will have to stay untidy for a couple of days yet. ;)

CCP - The vouchers for the almond milk were in a seperate insert inside the magazine.

Ah, right, thank you - I obviously just didn't get the insert for some reason. There's some lovely recipes, though - I particularly fancy the venison with lentils (and the cinnamon buns - I don't know (and probably don't wish to know) what your friend did to the picture of them DD!) - I wish I'd known before now that I could get a free copy of the magazine.

Re football, a pity more 'fans' aren't intelligent enough to understand/appreciate rugby.

Oi, 'ang on there ms sparrer - there's a football fan here who takes exception to that comment! :rotfl: My poor father, a former semi-pro rugby player, has long since given up trying to explain the rules of rugby to me - I love watching it, but please don't ask me what's going on! :D

Broomstick - it's lovely to see you back. :)

Right, I must go - there's a football match to watch. :p I'll be back later with some pleasures.
Back after a very long break!
  • Alas, yardbrush, you is back. Just in time. I'll put kettle on.

    Afternoon all.

As promised, here's some pleasures: ;)

    1) Woke up in time to watch the grand prix this morning, remembered the clocks had changed, and went back to sleep for an hour. :D

    2) Watched the grand prix, then a football match, now another football match, then there's ice skating and skiing later. I love my 5ky subscription sometimes. :)

    3) Ordered some new Xmas decorations using a code which gave me 16% cashback, free delivery, and a free pair of silver earrings. :money:

    4) Made (or am in the process of making) a pigeon pie, which will be cooked in the pie dish I inherited from my great-grandmother. Every time I use it I wonder how many pies it's seen over the past hundred years or so.

    5) Managed to resist turning the CH on all day, although I confess I've given in now. :o

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
