Morning all. I've had a busy few days and am trying to catch up with this thread. Congrats to Caterina on being mortgage free! Muppet81, happy for your good news. Sunnygirl, I know what you mean about the soap - in my house it's Pears soap that reminds me of my grandma. Olliebeak, I'm going to have a go of that soup- sounds delicious.
My recent blessings,
1. Lovely long walk with the dog, minding not to slip on the leaves.
2. Wrapping up warm and going to watch the fireworks with the family.
3. Hot chocolate when we got back to the house.
4. Dogs ear infection getting better after ear drops from the vet.
5. Thanks from the lady at the charity shop when I took her a bag of good books.
6. Even though I have already done my shoebox I was able to give some bits to another lady to finish hers.
Anyone heard from Reverbe?0 -
5 pleasures for today (I hope-maybe if I write them down they will come true
)
1) Day off work :j:jSo just sitting in dressing gown still having a cup of coffee
2)get the mountain of laundry under control (note-not actually a pleasure, but I do get a vague satisfaction from the basket not overflowing)
3)Finding what looks like a lovely recipe to have for dinner tonight-fish for friday
4) planning to make curried parsnip soup from the bendy and not so bendy parsnips in the fridge
5)Nice night tonight with my OH, good dinner, bottle of wine and a movie
and an extra-did I mention I don't have to go to work today0 -
Morning everyone!
Bunnytoo thanks for the recipe, can't wait to try it out
1 - Sparklers! OH brought som home last night and we lit them outside the flat........must have looked ridiculous as we have no kids and live beside a fairly busy road.
2 - Had a big project to do this week which went off without any hitches and was "noted" - think tht's as enthusiastic as it gets around ehre!
3 - OH being his usual supportive and utterly dependable self when I was fretting unnecessarily about stuff last night
4 - Its Friday and I've just had a bacon roll, yum
5 - Off on a work night out tonight and lots of things are lined up for the weekend.
Enjoy Friday

Well, I'm still behind on this thread but I have read some posts since I posted on Wed. So thank you for your kind words.
Caterina, breastfeeding your twins until 17 months is amazing, well done. Also BIG congratulations on becoming mortgage free :T
Olliebeak, I think you may be right and hormones could well have been playing a part in our horrible patch, things are a lot better now thank you.
SunnyGirl and HariboJunkie, it's nice to know I'm not alone in feeling so mixed up with finishing breastfeeding. It really is bizzareDD2 is doing fantastic though and going to bed so well without feeding first - little star :A
Right my 5 for yesterday
1. Playing with empty pots and pans for ages with DD2
2. Feet up with a book for half hour yesterday afternoon while DD2 had a nap.
3. Sorting a budget out and knowing we'll be okay for a while if DH hasn't found a new job before he is made redundant in Dec.
4. Watching DS and DD1 having great fun with sparklers last night (and having a go myself!)
5. A glass of wine and a game of Othello with DH, we haven't played it for years (that must be why he beat me!)
Well hopefully I'll catch up with the rest of this thread today. Have a lovely Friday everyone.

It's completely normal. I didn't feed my twins as long as Caterina but it was a sort of mutual thing that we all gave up when they were 10 months. I remember trying them again with it a few days later and they hadn't a clue what to do.It is nice to reclaim your body again for a while (or what was left of it in my case:o:rotfl:) I'm glad she is settling so well at night. x

Let's see, recent pleasures for me include:
1. Delicious curry with two old schoolfriends. One of whom I'd not seen until recently for 32 years. At school we were never close or had much to do with each other, but now we seem to connect quite well - looking forward to seeing more of her in the future.
2. Yummy Moroccan meal with a friend.
3. Getting my broken tooth fixed - broke a chunk off on the lovely chocolate that Caterina so kindly gave me! Great relief to get that one sorted.
4. Looking forward to lunch today with an ex-colleague. Funny how so many of my pleasures revolve around food!
5. Looking forward to watching some serious eye candy tonight on TV.
6. Enjoying having a week off work - bliss not to get up at 6am each day!
7. Starting the process of clearing my house ready to rent it out - several large boxes of books have gone to the charity shop.
8. Hearing that my friend John is now a granddaddy and is enjoying being in Australia with his daughter and new arrival.
9. Another food pleasure - an eat as much as you like Asian buffet with a friend yesterday.
10. And after all that about food, the smug feeling I got this morning as I pulled on my size 6 jeans. Sorry...:p
Hope everyone is well, is Reverbe not with us anymore? I always enjoyed her posts.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Morning all,
Hope everyone is ok. Lots of warm soup recipes on here and talk of blankets, bliss!
1. Having a lazy day, slouching about in a dressing gown.
2. Seeing my loved one get excited about skype so he can call/see his parents more often and for free.
3. A simple dinner of jacket potatoes and something from the freezer (Asda's hunters chicken, which is amazingly good).
4. Doing some work on our budget. In particular on thinking about meal planning. Also I must start a box for christmas treats/bits/sauces etc - sadly no cupboard to do this earlier but will make a nice little hamper to ourselves.
5. Clearing out the hundreds/thousands of internet favourites and starting from scratch. Same feeling as clearing out cupboards!
I'm off to look at the Freebies thread for some bits for Christmas. HOpe you all have a relaxing OS day.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Bitsy Beans How old is your DD? You mentioned watching her toddle around and this time last year she was a babe in arms. It's my feelings on our DD2, she's 15 1/2 months and growing so fast!
HariboJunkie I know what you mean about reclaiming your body, and sadly in my case too, whats left of it! Ah well, who needs a bikkini body anyway!0 -
HI everyone. Back with loads of catching up to do. Have been away for various factors - genuinely busy (for someone with no life I have had a lot on these past few weeks LOL), not really feeling up to it with a lot of serious things going on in my life, not really feeling inclined to post on MSE much following some recent events and bad feeling on here including personal attacks and also not having many pleasures to post about. Still I suppose there will be at least one poster on here pleased that things are beginning to get seriously bad in my life so thats something good I guess. Have been reading this thread regularly tho and keeping up with all your news. Touched that people would miss me and me crappy little posts about freebies lol. Thanks folks, that really is sweet and means a lot.You might have to put up with some long posts from me tho as I catch up. I have been writing them all down in a notebook.
