Hi all what lovely pleasures to read tonight.
Honey It's a strange feeling I felt it too with mine. It's like the end of an era almost or thats how it felt to me. Then I thought about all the things that we could do together as they got older and it used to cheer me up. Don't get me wrong there are days when I'd love all mine to be babies again (even all at once ) but there are lovely benefits to all ages & stages.
Haribo :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: It's just the vision of you sat in the garden, knitting, whilst watching out for your escaped girl. Glad she turned up.
My five for today are:
1. Ollie's posts are amazing. Very caring & you always try to include everyone. It is a pleasure to read them. Hope that your DD gets sorted with the panic attacks soon.
2. I have been the 'digital switchover helpline' for my Mum & Dad tonight as they've been very confused with it all! Dad unplugged the thing in the end so I'm going up in the morning. It's made me laugh but not in a mean way.
3. My favourite tv programme is back on tonight - SpooksI've been an avid viewer since the first series so am ridiculously excited tonight.
4. Doing the meal plan for the next few weeks having taken lots of inspiration from the Meal Planning thread & Grocery Challenge :A
5. Getting Delia's Frugal Food from the library.0 -
Grrr, just lost everything I typed!
5 for today:
1) Went to my counselling class and everyone was very friendly. We went to the pub afterwards!
2) My brother popped in (which is rare).
3) Smaller son told me all about Hinduism which he's been learning about at school. (He has various problems and so rarely mentions school once he's "escaped" at 3.15!)
4) Realised I'm coming down with something (terrible head ache, sore throat etc) and was quite relieved as I burst into tears for no reason this morning and couldn't work out why. Being ill explains it.
5) Despite having such a headache I had to cook with one eye shut, made the boys some quite tasty little pizzas using some muffins that needed using as the bases.
6) Going to bed with a son either side and watching James May's programme on plasticine on the iplayer before they went to bed.

1) Kicked through leaves in the park with toddler son
2) Got two babies excited with scrunchy paper which was the spare packing from a parcel
3) Watched a butterfly bask in the sunshine
4) HM butternut squash and sweetcorn soup for tea
5) Had a coffee and a catch up with a good friend, round at ours0 -
My five for today:
1. The whole house is clean and tidy.
2. First tenancy check for us today. All fine and very friendly. The agent has agreed to get their handyman round to repair the few things that need fixing. Oh, and I've worked out how to work the central heating (just to take the edge off the chill before the agent arrived) so I now know it works should/when we need it again.
3. Made lots of parsnip and apple soup in the slow cooker.
4. Made a late lunch of stuffed courgettes (using up the quorn mince from yesterday and leftover mash fried up. Both DS1 and DS2 have decided that the courgette recipe is fab so we now have another veggie mince-stretching recipe that will freeze. (And there's still a courgette left over to have cold in my packed lunch tomorrow )
5. Babysitting for my neice and nephew with DS2. They really enjoy being together and it was lovely to hear so much laughter.
Sleep well

Hello Everyone! Great news Catriona and Muppet81. Sorry to hear you are not having a good day kitchenbunny, fingers crossed it gets better tomorrow. Today I had a very busy day but I am thankful for:
1. Cutting through a huge pile of paperwork so I can now see my desk
2. Waking up to a tidy living room thanks to my DH
3. My DD doing her homework with no tears or tantrums
4. Watching two of my fav TV shows
5. Snuggling up with my DH who listens with endless patience to all my tales of the dayTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Evening all - and especially congrats Caterina on being mortgage-free, wow!, and great news for you Muppet. Thanks Olliebeak for your personal replies.
Before my brain shuts down for the night (if it hasn't already), my 5 today were:
Made a batch of marrow and ginger chutney (found recipe on this site last year and it was a hit, so when I was left a marrow from someone's allotment I knew what its fate would be eventually)
Felt very satisfied from taking the initiative and descaling the kettles and flasks at work so they actually shine now!
Rang my brother in the US for a good catch-up
Had another bowl of HM chicken soup for lunch (last bowl is in fridge for DH once he gets home)
Had a No Spend Day.
Good night!March GC: £147.75/£180 groceries + £36.75/£50 meals out
February: £163.19/£180 + £66.14/£50 monthly budget for eating out Total £229.33/£230 :j
January: £170.01/£1700 -

A huge congratulations to Caterina for being mortgage free :T I am so looking forward to the day I can say the same.
Wonderful news Muppet; health worries certainly make you realise what's important in life.
Reading today has made me think lots of home, but as I'm having a 'day off' from here and concentrating on home anyway, that's lovely! Will post later but mine for yesterday were:
1) being utterly contented with life
2) a truly wonderful friend I met on MSE (and who is now a real life friend) who is a fantastic emotional support
3) reading my book sitting in the sun and now wanting to go to a place which translates as 'the village of happiness'
4) eating yummy ti-mo for 17p for lunch
5) getting into a freshly made bed and snuggling down from the cold
