    HAPPY BIRTHDAY House elf :j

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Morning all,

Was still feeling under the weather yesterday so stayed home all day so will probably struggle with five but here goes:
    1. YS toasted teacake for breakfast
    2. Curling up with a blanket on the sofa with a book, quite nice to catch up on some reading.
    3. Getting lots of washing done and dried as was at home
    4. DD sewing her latest guide badge onto her sash, I am not great with sewing so glad she has decided she quite likes it.
    5. Feeling a lot better this morning so going to brae the office

    2) Watched a butterfly bask in the sunshine

    3) Got two babies excited with scrunchy paper which was the spare packing from a parcel

    4) HM butternut squash and sweetcorn soup for tea

    5) Had a coffee and a catch up with a good friend, round at ours

Good morning everyone  - barely daylight this morning when I heard the workmen starting the digging machines today - those 'reversing bleeps' are damned annoying when you're trying to wake your brain up.

jollymummy - what a lovely day with your mum :) and good work on your pincushion :T.
scotrae - hope you all enjoy your boys' HSbirthday11.giftoday.
sparrer - good to hear that your garden is beginning to dry out a bit - ours is taking ages too.
house elf - wd on your work with your class and good luck with the trip to the Garden Centre. Have a great bday2.gif .
Jacey - sorry to hear that you've got a head%20cold.gif - hope it gets the message that it's not wanted and leaves you soon - what an awful waste of a few days off work :(.
bunny too - you're very welcome - hope they come in useful :).
Ladyhawk - thanks for your message to elf, I'd missed the bit about her birthday in her post :o.
Tealady - good to hear that you're feeling up to going back to work today - congrats to your dd on her latest guide badge :T.
CAPMguy - wow - wonder if that's a first - a butterfly in January! sounds like you had a great day :).

    Mine for yesterday:

    1. Caught up with laundry - all washed and then dried on airers/rad rails :j.

    2. Phone call in work to say that the garden furniture that has been bought for some tenants to use will be delivered on Thursday morning - I applied for funding for this back in May last year, so they'll be highly delighted that it's here in time for this Spring.

    3. Gave out notes in work for all tenants - our organisation is also funding keysafes for all elderly tenants who want one. These are great and save having to force entry in case of an emergency.

    4. Grilled Belly Pork with Apple Sauce, mash, carrots and cabbage for evening meal - very .

    5. The local birds have finally started to use our bird feeder - thought they were never going to use it - think the noise of the workmen and machinery could have been putting them off though.

That's me done for now. I'll pop in again later to see what you've all been up to today - speak later - love Ollie xxx
  • Sparrer I had noticed how Stardrops has rocketed in price too, not checked out the Soda Crystals lately. I reckon it will soon be time to go back to the leading brand cleaning products as they will have pushed the prices of the cheapo's so much.

    Yesterday's pleasures:-

    1. Shopping trip with DD in the second city. Blew the budget and had coffee and scone and a (very) light lunch out. Hey a girl needs some treats sometimes and this is the zenith of our social life.

    2. Finding pom-pom yarn less than half price in the sale so am making a scarf for a friend's birthday.

    3. Lovely roast turkey dinner made in Remoska.

    4. Turkey thigh PLUS drumstick £3.69 in Mr. M. Just a turkey thigh £4.00 in Mr. S. Sshh don't tell anyone.

    5. Lovely sunshine.

    Bella.

HI all, hugs to all who need them or just want them ;)

Struggling to keep my sanity in work whilst still waiting for the redundancy decision to become "final" - just hurry up and get it over and done with :o

    1. Hearing OH has been shortlisted for a job (only part time cleaning but still)

    2. Getting my sainsbug delivery yesterday and having a friendly new delivery driver (usually they moan about the steps up to the block of flats).

    3. Spending the evening making burgers from some of the mince and the basics stuffing and managing to make 10 burgers (more than I thought).

    4. Spending time portioning up the meats into 400g bags of mince and bags of 4 chicken thighs etc and actually surprisingly being able to fit it all in the freezer with the packs of crumpets they delivered with today's date on!

    5. Having the cupboards, fridge and freezer full again - silly but I find satisfaction in knowing we have food to last some time.

    6. The stepkids both getting awards/certificates/prizes for good work and good effort at school. Hopefully it will spur them on to continue ;)

Let's see, my 5 for yesterday:

    1. Recognising in the evening that I was tired (it's manic at work, and my patience wears thin with some clients at times, although I don't show it). So I had a relaxing evening and an early night.

    2. Delicious slow cooker bean and veg curry, with homemade yoghurt. Yum!

    3. Yummy homemade hummus for lunch - my best effort yet and very garlicky. (Didn't keep the clients at bay, though...:D)

    4. Bunking off work early to go see a favourite client , who's not one of the annoying ones. His office is in the middle of a forest and the drive there is spectacular.

    5. Reading more great online fiction and getting ideas for more of my own.

    Have a good day, everyone.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
  • My five for the past few days:

    1) 3 NSDs in a row! :D

    2) Getting an unexpected message from an old friend who I havent seen in a while - had a lovely catch up

    3) yummy HM Thai fish cakes for tea later from the freezer :j

    4) Half way through first week back of lectures - not used to these early starts!

    5) Having everyone back in the flat after xmas break - really missed them all :o
    Proud to be OS :j
