Lol Ollie, no guarantee that DS is going to read the shed post and take the hint but we live in hope
Am planning on making GirlySquare's gingerbread recipe in the morning, will let you know how it turns out. I :heart2: gingerbread!
My 5...
1. Going to my pulm rehab exercise class at 10.30am, always fun and we laugh more than we work. Our poor group leader despairs of us so much she's taking a holiday next week! Lovely sausage rolls someone made to have with out cuppa afterwards, By 12noon we were all fat again, ha ha
2. Did my first big shop of the new year, spent £58 in Mr A and saved £18 on bogof's etc. Bought enough to last me probably 4 weeks inc extras like cleaning things (but Stardrops up from 78p to £1.58, soda crystals were 35p last year, now they're 99p )
3. There was Chinese chicken pizza to taste on the pizza counter. I said to the girl I was pleased to see someone knew where pizza originated even if it is 3 weeks early for Chinese New Year. She looked at me a little bit vacantly, and when I told her it was Burns night and it should be haggis pizza she said she didn't think they sold that but would find out. I told her not to bother before she found out the truth and had me removed by security:rotfl:
4. Sold my music centre to create space in the dining room, now I just have to sell the cabinet then I can get a little portable cd/cassette player to stand on the new work top - when it arrives
5. Postie brought me a freebie vial of perfume and a deodorant spray. Not both from the same company, but I think someone is trying to tell me something
Night night , sleepy tight, and stay safe

Morning everyone, my 5 for today are.
1. Now on to the hood of my baby jacket, can't believe that it has taken me so long. It is turning out well, will try and post pic when it is finished.:j
2.Had great day with friends girls, i'd forgotten how chatty wee ones are. Knitting was a success, and someone on here mentioned colouring books and crayons, and they went down a treat too.:money:
3. Going for a wee look around some charity shops today, have a budget of £20 so fingers crossed i come home with some bargains.:money:
4. Have decided that my £365 for the £ a day chall. is going to buy me a much lusted after ice cream machine. I've researched and i can buy an all singing all dancing recon one for about £250. :money:
5. Having 5 nsds in a row.
Thanks Newlywed for the suggestions. Made crumble last night. Will be trying pineapple upside down tomorrow. Will make today and reheat. I'm really into the way of corner cutting and time saving with my main meals, but this pudding lark is a whole new ball game. Me a wee bit stressed over the chall. Keep the ideas coming please.
Have a great os day hugs to all who need them. Love BTxx0 -
Morning all :hello: - what a damp, miserable, grey morning it is too
.
RainyWednesday - wd to Fulham on your venture 'oop North'- bit of a trek for all you dedicated fans. wtg on your whoopsies
.
sparrer - lol at the girl on the pizza counter - sometimes we just have to feel sorry for them - some of them are so dim that they're just asking to be wound up, in a nice way of course. Then again, there's no joy in winding up somebody who doesn't even notice when it's been done
.
bunny too - well done on persevering with your baby jacket. sometimes the older patterns are very complicated when compared with today's more modern styles/knitting methods - you're doing well there :T. If you're ever child-minding again, there's loads of free activities/downloadables on-line that you could print-off to use with the girls - including colouring pages.
Need to go and start work for the day - really don't want to be bothered today. Speak again later -((((big hugs)))) to all who still need them - love Ollie xxx.0 -
Morning all!
My 5 for yesterday:
1. Short day at work - always good! :T
2. Watching an episode of my favourite TV show, recorded from last week. Hot men alert...:D
3. Getting an unexpected email from a friend who I was starting to lose touch with.
4. Delicious spicy pasta for tea, and preparing a big curry for the slow cooker today. I should come home to a nice hot bean and veg jalfrezi - just need to heat up some rice.
5. Good session in the gym.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Its a funny thing with kids, my boy is 8, plays rugby, loves fighting - your typical macho 'i could take the world on myself' little boy. Holding my hand is "Gay" and when i kiss him goodnight im lucky if his head hasn't turned too fast for me to plant one on him! My daughter (5) is the exact opposite, she loves coming and sitting on my knee, always wants to come and give me a cuddle and is generally very lovable.
Then i have a 2 year old who doesnt live with me, but is just like my daughter.
But my 5 pleasures from the last day or two involves changes, odd glimmers:
1. My daughter covering her bits as she got changed so i couldn't see???
- Innocence finally gone?
2. My son telling me he loved me without being prompted.
- I was waiting for the "can i have" but it never came.
3. When dropping my son off with his mother crying because he wanted to stay with daddy.
- I know thats nasty, but it reminded me that although i only have him a few days/nights a week he does love me
4. The kids making me breakfast in bed yesterday morning.
- Even though they used all the milk, left the back door open and made a real mess.
5. My daughter drawing me a picture, with my son writing on it "thanks dad, we love you"
- Ok, i get a million pictures drawn for me, and hundreds of pringles tubes that are supposedly rockets from school, but few have ever held as much sentiment.
A bit soppy i know, but i think most parents can relate to this in some way, we see our kids changing at a phenomenal rate, but every now and again they do something which remind's us that even though they misbehave, tell lies, fight, argue, bring you to the brink of nervous breakdown - they do still love you, and that all the efforts to do your best have actually paid off.The Summer Holiday of a Lifetime0 -

My five today:
1. Making a stew with all the pulses and veggies. Served with the very last of the home-made bread - so warming on a chilly da.y
2. Baked some shortbread. We get one piece a day for four days. It's funny, because when we used to buy big packs of biscuits or shortbread, we'd have quite a few:o at a time. But we don't shovel them in any more. Oh, I realise why - because hubby was never greedy and only had one or two, but I was not so self-disciplined. Now that I'm doing all this wonderful home-cooking I find myself actually taking the time to savour and trying to make them last:rotfl:
3. Having that confident feeling that I'm in control of my budget. This has been evolving slowly but surely over the last few months.
4. Planted some garlic cloves a few days ago and I've just seen some sign of growth. I love garlic and its very expensive, so I'll feel double-chuffed if I can grow my own successfully
5. Realised today that I CAN live without my knitting magazine subscription. I have two year's worth in folders and many more patterns that should keep me going for years.0 -

2) cuddles and chat from dd before leaving for work, Mr Lahey I know exactly what you mean
3) getting into work and getting a load of stuff done, went home at lunchtime though had a nap and got on with more stuff in the afternoon
4) phone calls from colleagues this afternoon
5) finishing off the gingerbread cake, it freezes well by the way, dp usually makes two to eat one/freeze oneA bit soppy i know, but i think most parents can relate to this in some way, we see our kids changing at a phenomenal rate, but every now and again they do something which remind's us that even though they misbehave, tell lies, fight, argue, bring you to the brink of nervous breakdown - they do still love you, and that all the efforts to do your best have actually paid off."We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
