After a pretty naff few weeks I'm beginning to see the positives again...so today my 5 are,

    1) realising that although we found our missing moggy, dead, yesterday we at least can look on the lovely time he had with us and how happy and loved he was.

    2) listening to the almighty thunder storm last night with lashing wind and rain and feeling snug, cosy and safe, it also meant a bed full of cuddly cats/kittens who really didn't like the noise. (it was proper film thunder with the creaky rattely bits that come before the bang that rolls around for a while). My heart goes out to those who've been affected by the flooding.

    3) lunch time soup, a homemade roasted veg one, it was scrummy.

    4) a quick but lovely evening meal using the left over veg and cheese sauce from Sunday, mixed with a bit of pasta and smoked sausage. Very tasty.

    5) watching our three kittens playing hide and seek this morning, kittens make the world a nicer place.

Tired! Here are my 5 or so for Wednesday.

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Bigger son back at school with a wonderfully scabbed face.

    3) Went to see the psych nurse and survived. That's what has made me tired, I think.

    4) MrN's son 3 came over to see me and smaller son to show us what he had been cooking.

    5) Got both sons to complete their homework.

    6) Bigger son had haircut. It's almost at a normal length!

    7) Did one of their favourite teas. Chicken nuggets (just chunks of chicken dipped in beaten egg then flour with some dried herbs and paprika), wedges and baked beans.

    8) Went to mum and dad's to get bigger son's wellies as he is going on an adventure day thingy tomorrow and my brother was there and also my sister, newly back from Holland.

    9) Log man phoned so we will soon have a tonne of firewood. He went to primary school with me so makes a special effort to make sure the logs are short enough for my woodburner. (A Morso squirrel)

    10) Texts from OH. :-)

    11) Vaguely planning for bigger son's 12th birthday on Saturday.

    12) Baths and bed now. Early night for me (though I often say that!)

Hope everyone is having a good evening.

    2. Being inside whilst it rained and rained...........and rained!

    3. Fabulous day at school, was even asked if I'm a teacher today by another teacher who's never met me before :) How cool is that?!?

    4. Popped over to a friend's whilst DD was at Brownies, and came away with a huge amount of yummy dhal that will do us a few dinners, as she doesn't seem to do leftovers......we do, nomnomnom :)

    5. Went to another chum's for a coffee after school and picked up something that I need to take to work for her (she used to work at my office y'see), was good to have a catch up.

Morning! Almost time to head out to work for the last time this week , I have Friday off.
    Wednesday Pleasures:
1.In pool for 6am .....yes! Swam for 30 minutes then quick home, shower, dressed and out for work at 7am! I couldn't do this everyday but will try once a week! I felt really energised all morning!

2.Got lots done at work as we are quieter as it's uni students holiday week.
Nice not to feel constantly harrassed!

3.Took some books back to charity shop and came away with 3 gingham lined white wicker baskets. Very pretty! I had to leave /sell for pennies all my baskets before we came here as you are not allowed to bring them into Australia. So , if I see a nice piece in a charity shop I buy!

4.OH's sense of humour returning! As a family we have always laughed a lot together and as he has felt so unwell not been too much laughter but it's on it's way back which is so good to see :)

5.Finally the ironing is done, the front room is tidy once more.....just kept dumping more and more clean washing on the pile! Watched Casualty whilst ironing/tidying up/re-making a stripped bed.....it took 2 hours of dodgy internet connection to watch 50 minute programme, so did stuff in between the many stop/starts!

Okay had better go start my day! Have a lovely evening!

CCP- its that moment of terror when you are not quite sure if you are hurt or not - glad to hear that it was the duvet that did it and you didn't need to get soggy bandages in the rain!!

    Skint - executioner :rotfl:

Last day at work today until Monday !!

    Maaarning!!

Mhags - Glad to hear OH's sense of humour returning - I remember when dad was ill earlier this year, I'd come home saying "oh he's better cos he's eating more" then the next time "oh he's much better cos he's reading the paper again" and so on until we got to the point of "Now he really is better". All steps on the right road.
    Skint - I love Malapropisms.
CCP - glad the foot's on the mend
Kittikins and PK - I keep getting you muddled up! But I believe you are both going through work "stuff". Hope all goes well
Sparrer - I have holiday issues going on. The trip to Milan looks like it's off. A case of "if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is". Have to go through the hassle of getting a refund from exped!a now :(

Yesterday was a strange day - lets see what I get

    1. DD went off to school all smiles - and then walked out as I said. Not really a pleasure tho I did take her for a coffee and a heart to heart. It now seems that she has a bug and she will be off today. Whilst it isn't a pleasure that she is ill - at least there seems to be a reason for her extreme behaviour.
    2. Slow cooked YS beef casserole for tea - and I made dumplings for the first time ever. And they were edible!:T
    3. Made some cakes and biscuits for the MacMillan coffee morning tomorrow. Someone is running it at work and I said I'd donate.
    4. Started knitting my chunky pink cardi for winter.
    5. Had a family "moment" last night - all sitting round the table helping kids with their homework.

As DD is ill we can't leave her on her own to go to the posh do on Friday - so I have to stay here :( - so posh frock can go back to TKmarxx. At least I don't have to buy the accessories now! Every cloud.

    Have a good day all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Back again! hurrah for Thursday :)

    1. Lovely day here, sat at duck pond and had my sandwich at lunch....no ducks, just 2 greedy seagulls , a swooping magpie and 2 magpie finches...sorry birdies all my sandwich!

    2. Work was soooo quiet today, as I'm off tomorrow (did I mention that already? ) got all my Friday stuff done today!

3.DD2 using her earnings to buy a bag she has had her eye on for ages by using a 50% voucher she downloaded.

4.DS in at school all day ( its the holidays!) for extra study classes, he got a good mark for the mock exams he sat. He sits his final exams in a few weeks. He got his lunch for free.

    5. OH cut the grass, has knackered him but it's done. Who knew when we took the lease on house with huge garden what lay ahead for us? I need to weed, weed , weed!

6.a pleasure still to come, going a-gallivanting tonight and off out to visit a friend at her house....after ironing and hoovering though.....I have a day off tomorrow and ain't doing housework!

    have a lovely Thursday x
  • I've missed a couple of days...but I'm back here! This is for yesterday and today...because I only get home from work at 10pm tonight...and back at 7:30am tomorrow morning!

    Right...so for me...

    5. Still revelling in the fact that I am in full time employment after a year off not working due to a nervous break down and jobseeking taking ages and just got my first monthly pay (even if I got over taxed)

    4. The fact that extra shifts are available if I want them to earn some extra dosh next month, I just need to balance it out so I'm not doing too much.

    3. Roast chicken yesterday which was very yummy and will feed me until Saturday! I'm totally starting to go Old Style even if old habits are hard to break! - it also means chicken soup today with stock made from the bones...I mean...whats not to get excited about with that?

    2. Time to clean my teeny, tiny pad this morning and do some washing that can hang in my teeny, tiny pad and be dry when I finally come off work tomorrow!

    1. I'll have a couple of free films available thanks to my LoveFilm free trial this weekend to sit and veg with!

    0. Just for the fun of it...I'm actually going to go and have a workout before work starts today....

    Thats me folks!!!
