1 POETS Day.
...as my ex's reps used to call it. They had several versions for the 'P' - literally! :eek:0 -
Hi all
Feeling a bit better, got myself sufficiently drugged to be able to go to my driving lesson, wish me luck!
Pleasures for yesterday:
1. Forced rest, needed it even if it was only because of the cold
2. As Sparrer noted, sitting in bed spoon feeding myself peanut butter was indeed a rare treat!
3. Had enough time to catch up with online friends
4. DS spent some time with me, telling me his plans and thoughts (a rare occurrence)!
5. DH cooked a magnificent vegetable stir fry.
Have a good day all! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Caterina - good luck with your lesson !
VJsmum -No. My bite is definitely worse than my bark , but it has to be. My job involves how do I put it ... making sure vulnerable people are safe in the organisation that they are placed in and by making sure that organisations are meeting their contractual requirements. Yawn Yawn says VJsmum - bet you are glad that you asked now :rotfl:
Have a good day all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Morning
Caterina - Get well now
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Lift into work off I lovely lady I used to work with
2. Lunchtime catch up with the girlies at work.
3. Naughty but nice dinner out as had DD's college parents evening. Meet DD in restaurant and had yummy burgers in GBK. Nice to have a family dinner together
4. Good parents evening and nice to hear that all the learning support is in place for DD, the tutors are most impressed as they have never had TA's in their lessons before.
5. Lift home off OH which saved lots of time as didn't need to get the bus.
Hugs to all who need them, better get off here and do some work as supposed to be in a boring Webex now.0 -
1. It's sunny, if slightly chilly - almost October, after all.
2. Local chap wants my old mower, posted on Freecycle - collecting ce soir.
3. FOUND NEW-TO-ME- CAR LOGBOOK. CAN DO TAX TOMORROW.
4. All day yesterday on Missing Wallet faffing about...BUT, I had removed 3 things, 2 valuable, from it by chance, and had folded new CUBG Membership receipt into a tiny square and zipped it into the stamp pocket of my Card Holder. Still struggling to bite bullet of another loss though.
5. Cheering, empathetic pm.
6. Dropped Waitrose reductions and books from our day out to L. late afternoon. Needed time away from stressy hassle. We'd both had running-to-catch-up-getting-nowhere type days and she was just about to head off for family member again. Again we saw/discussed her beans dying off as mine have - full of dkw in matters jardin this year.
7. BUT, picked my first runner beans last night and enjoyed them with my strange but luscious lamb slow cooker concoction. It's only one plant of anything beany that has survived. It's blooming madly and there are cascades of more ready to pick and youngsters burgeoning.
8. Too late for Gym rv last night, so wandering over there after this.
9. Enjoying Phillip Serrell's books and found 2 other auctioneer memoirs I'd forgotten I'd picked up from qui sait où? As you may gather, it's another something I long to do[for which CU fits all francophile kiwis, bien sûr.].
10. Nice chats with neighbour earlier, as he had small fumes over incomprehensible/wrong Assembly Instructions for sproncey new[costly]house for his girls, for winter protection. He's able, will sort it, but it's a feature of all self-assembly sheets that I've ever confronted.
Carry on, endurance shining, dear peeps - there's a lot of us in a number of similarly heaving boats atm, I sense.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Nearly bedtime for me.....time to post some Friday pleasures.
1. Woke up at early o'clock and no work to go to , so hurrah for Friday
Has time to phone my friend from home and have a good blether with her.
Made chocolate muffins and leek and potato soup and cleaned fridge at 7.30am!
2. Went shopping with OH ( who had his moany head on! ),we went to a fab green grocers and got lots of yummy fruit and veg for a decent price. I'm not sure why strawberries are so cheap just now but we are taking advantage and munching our way through punnets of them. Then did supermarket and moany man moaned all the way round. Got a few RTC items.
3. Home and in out of the rain, has poured all day and been very chilly , thunder and lightning on and off all day. Made lunch then sat and read for a wee while.
4. DD1 and I wandered up to library and I sat and watched 2 episodes of Great British Bake Off on YouTube , so that was nice and that was free which was even better, borrowed a book. I love our library
5. Called into charity shop on way back. I had seen a duck shaped egg bowl( know what I mean, not sure what else I would call it) my kids are horrified by it but I saw it the other day and liked it then saw a hen one on bake off and thought I'll just see if it is still there....and it was.
DD2 saw this exercise machine so she bought that but we had to call OH. To collect us with that! We should all have abs in no time! It's one of these machines that is on infomercials that promises a new body in no time at all! Obviously the person who donated it to charity shop now has abs of steel and doesn't need it.......or it was a heap of junk that got in their way!
6.was having a wee snooze when an Australian friend from home(work that out!)called. Her DD was one of my DD2's best friends. So had a good chat with her before her phone ran out of battery!
Anyway, apart from weather it has been a nice day off, feel quite relaxed and rested so off to bed shortly and will have another day off tomorrow....hugs to all who need one and poorly people get better soon.
Oooo another one from last night, didn't get a-gallivanting last night as friend was going to be late home( but was quite happy not to go out) anyway, I had left my car out on road so had to put it back in driveway, 2 possums in my tree....ran in and took their photos! And repeated the warning to stop pooping and weeing on my car! possum pee stinks!0 -
Gawd you lot can narf gab.
Anyway, I'm back.
1. Over the last few days have taken 2 car laods of clothes to the cash for clothes bank. Up £30.
2. Made courgette fritters and scoffed them with hummus and lemon. Made a point of not looking out the window and tried to believe I was ina Greek taverna.
3. Took boys to school, and despite DT2 crying yesterday after a playground spat, both DTs skipped in loaded with Morrisins 'dig it' vouchers.
4. Managed to get the puddle splashing stains out of DT1's yellow school sweat shirt.
5. No torn trousers this week (you wait, I'll pick them up and they will both of 'kneed' them!).
Bye for now. Having my barnet done by my bestie in a mo so will peek inover the weekend. Have a good one folks.......
The peanut squares were lush BTW.0 -
1) Found a nice B0den jumper in a charity shop yesterday and it was even cheaper than Eb4y.
2) Went to the garden centre this morning and did not buy anything, even though there were fruit trees in the reduced section.
3) Have made a meal for the parents'-in-law using mainly our fruit and veg, so it seems a very inexpensive one, despite having to feed so many.
4) Have two library books waiting for tomorrow.
5) Will be getting rid of the chainsaw this evening. My FIL was very kind to lend it to us and it was very useful but it is now cluttering up my porch, which is tiny.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.0 -
Afternoon all.Gawd you lot can narf gab.
Yep.
1) I had to go and see the nurse again today and, when I mentioned I'd had trouble getting the dressings I need, she gave me a whole handful from her storecupboard. :T
2) Being very grateful that, apart from that, I didn't have to go out in the rain - and now the sun's come out.
3) Found that I can now put my slippers on without it hurting too much, which is a relief as I hate having cold feet.
4) Macaroni cheese for dinner tonight.
5) And an episode of Wartime Farm to watch while eating, as I forgot it was on last night.
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0
