    Morning

Thank you for all the get well wishes, I am feeling much better.

Frith - Glad DS xray was clear, hope his bump goes down quickly
CCP - Hope you have a quick recovery but remember to take it easy and enjoy your time off work
Sparrer / Skint - Hope you have a better day today
DundeeDoll- Stay safe in all this horrible weather you are having
PK - Good luck with the job

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. A full nights sleep in my own bed, after not really sleeping for a week and what sleep I did get was in the chair this was sheer bliss.
    2. Pan of Chirizo and Berlotti Bean Soup made in the morning before work, so lunches sorted for the week. Also feed a friend at work who had forgotten her lunch.
    3. Reverbed 3p near the shop in our street, have found that since the shop reopened there is often change on the floor
    4. More of friends blanket completed now done about half of the knotting just another 500 to go/
    5. HM chicken and bacon pie for dinner, I often cheat with pie and just put the pastry on the top but DD asked if we could have a pie with top, bottom and sides... who was I to refuse.

Hugs to all who need them

    Morning / afternoon

I seem to have missed out yesterday, so here goes

    1. Went to work on train so managed a half hour walk which is more than I have been doing
    2. teaching all day but it was something new and i really enjoyed it.
    3. Booked a girls' trip to Milan next May - at a bargain price.
    4. OH had a meeting with DS maths teacher and it went really well
    5. Fish pie from the freezer for tea - yum

I seem to have an unexpected "working at home" afternoon as DD walked out of school this morning :shocked:. Had a panic attack and walked - rang me when she was on train to Birmingham so I left work in a hurry and met her at station. She says she doesn't know what happened, that school is better and she doesn't want to leave. For some reason she freaked out and bolted. Am thinking of getting her something herbal to help with anxiety - I take Rhodiola Rosea and it works for me. Just not sure about going down the "pills for ills" route.

Ah well, I shall make the most of my unexpected afternoon..
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Afternoon all!

Was a beautiful crisp sunny morning, now it sounds like someone is chucking buckets of water at the windows! Thankfully I don't need to go out until later when I collect ds from college, and I'll be driving so won't get soaked!

    My five pleasures for today:

    1. After spending yesterday behaving like a dervish, dd4 is back to her normal sweet self today!

    2. A day off work, as I swapped shifts, rather nice being off two days together in the week :)

    3. Best friend popped in for a cuppa, always good to catch up and have a giggle.

    4. I'm trying out a new bread recipe from the Baker Brothers' book, wasn't convinced it would rise as it seemed like not a lot of water, but it's looking fine so far! Finger's crossed it tastes good, else I shall be suffering indigestion later ;)

    5. Having time to read a few blogs earlier, one of which made me think hard about shopping from stores for a couple of weeks, with small top ups. I like to keep a decent amount of stocks in, but I currently have a freezer full of ys fish and meat that really needs rotating and using before I buy anything more - I can hear OH cheering as I type this!

Hope you all have a good day, and that nobody suffers any flooding xx

I hops that PK is not taking the lie in literally. WAKEY WAKEY.

5 Today the Palace de Sonni is smelling like a distillary. Becasue the Chrimbo Cake and Pud fruits are being festered in their winter warming flavours, Mixed spice, Nutmeg and Whisky. (Brandy and French wine is not used here due to the frogs selling exocet missiles to Argentina). REcipe is a closely guarded tried over the last 100 years secret, suffice to say Cake is 1 1/2lb fruits, 1/4 Mixed Peel and Choipped cherries to 3/4 of the bowl. The pud has no peel or cherries and about half as much. Dab of brown sugar, dated 2010-05-08. Rest iof the recipe to follow, but will be 1st week of November before the baking starts.

4 Cor blimely, seems that the house has given me a taste for the wobbleades, so tonite is quiz nite.

3 Hope everyone is ok abouts the bumps and lump, cuts and things. Jenny is out there gals with her :heartpuls to you all.

2 Good looks at the newbies, hop theys do enjo this thread, including my nonesense as well.

Sparrer:- I hope you can sort it, having proof makes it very strong you go get em.
Chickenopolis:- Your number one from yesterday did make me smile.:rotfl:
Vjsmumm: I’d never heard of Rhodiola rosea before.
    TILAMS:- Up by 9-ish:p

Thank you for the kind wishes about leaving work and the interview, I am nervous, but there was bullying :( and things I couldn’t write on a public forum, the place was very bad for me. I am a little bit worried, it’s hard not to be when the news is saying recession. I do need another role very soon but it is lovely to just take a few days. :)

1.A sneaky one from yesterday, I felt a bit poorly, stress always hits my stomach, DH ran me hot bath, hot drink and painkillers and then we watched something daft on TV with chocolate cake and melon pieces.:D
    2. Annoyingly woke up at the normal time out of habit, but laid there listening to the rain and soon went back to sleep until the neighbours builders turned up at about 9ish.:o
3.Printed off some vouchers from the MSE mail as I popped into Mr T on Monday this week and realised I didn’t have any vouchers that was a bit of a shocking to me, I’ve been using them continually for about a year now, and DH definitely has the bug I saw him on the forum looking up a local discount shop map.:rotfl:
    4. I’ve got to be honest I haven’t really done much today, did manage to get 2 loads of washing done and tumble dried as it was absolutely tipping it down and the kitchen is fairly clean still, but the rest of the house well it isn’t I know it needs doing but it will need doing tomorrow too.
    5. Tomorrow, we are going out for a cafe brekkie followed by discount shopping, sounds daft but I am looking forward to it.:j

Thanks all, as you say it pays to have proof, even if it did take me half of yesterday. Tried to c/p the page but it wouldn't copy some of the print (wierd) so thought I'd take a screen shot but no idea how to do it! However after several hours I worked it out and sent everything to the travel agent. I've just had a call from them, they're not happy (understatement) with the member of staff who changed my booking to her financial favour and ask me for another £186, and have assured me I have the holiday I booked and there's not a penny more to pay. Admit I got a bit emotional on the phone which is not me at all so quite cross with myself, but the agents were lovely and said they weren't surprised I felt like that (probably thought 'silly old trout' but were polite enough not to say it out loud :D). So problem over, and hopefully all back to normal

    1. Did new routine at gym, not too bad so I might go back tomorrow ;)
    2. Postie brought me a sample of skin cream, it smells lovely :)
    3. Lovely friend who's relationship has just broken down wanted to move to this area so gave I her some agents numbers and she moves into her new flat, which is nearby, at the weekend
    4. Last minute invite to give a talk this evening and the offer of a lift as it's in a village back of beyond. Had a mad moment thinking of a fish and chip supper, plans now scuppered so will have a nice green salad instead :(
    5. The sunflowers are just about over so will stop at the farm shop for more tomorrow as they were such good value. Well free actually but the other bunch was cheap ;)

'1 One more never hurts! Discuss' - made me laugh out loud. It appealed to my warped sense of humour :rotfl:

Have a good evening, stay safe and dry :)
  • Good evening all !

PK- bullying ...let me at 'em !I will Daffy Duck 'em;) it worked on little old foxy!

VJsmum- your poor DD x Still you have "Yum Yum" pie :D

    a few for today

    1. My ex boss from years back has joined our team and she is fab.

    2. First site visit for about 7 weeks .It is a company that I have been through rough times with and have come out the other side iyswim .The manager begged me to undertake a full two day audit as I understand their "systems" - but we are so short staffed that "fire fighting" has become a priority.Still it's a compliment :).

    3. Finished late and worked through lunch ...still accrued some flexi ( I have tons already)

    4. OH now serving up macaroni cheese for my tea :D

    have a good evening all!

    Evening all.

I had a bit of a scare when I woke up this morning and found that the bandage on my foot was bright red  - it took me a couple of moments to realise that it wasn't blood, just dye from my red duvet cover! :o

    1) Being very grateful for the medical advice to stay at home, which meant I didn't have to go out in the torrential rain.

    2) NSD and NPD.

    3) Cheese-filled croissants for brunch.

    4) Mog wasn't well this morning - he was hunched up on the bed looking very sorry for himself - but, before I could get too worried, he snapped out of it and is now fine again. (Although very cross with me for laughing at him - he tried to scratch his ear while walking through a doorway and ran out of legs. :rotfl:)

    5) Finally got a call from my energy company, just as I was about to contact the ombudsman about their failure to respond. I now have the name of a person who has promised she's going to sort out the problem for me - I sincerely hope so!

    6) Received some antihistamine tablets I'd ordered - I could get them on prescription but it seems daft to pay the prescription charge for 3 months' supply when I can get a whole year's worth for about the same amount by using an online chemist. :money:

    7) Had a very pleasant chat with the postman who came to deliver the parcel - usually I'm at work when he delivers so it was nice to actually see him for once.

    8) Also received some books I'd ordered - and paid for using vouchers for doing surveys :money: - so now I have something to read while I'm off work. :D

Have a good evening, all - I must go and sunbathe in front of my lightbox for a while. :)
Back after a very long break!

    1) took a day annual leave so could accompany OH to an appointment in glasgow. We had lovely lunch  and the restaurant had lovely soap and handcream sea kelp by the scottish soap company. Not very :money: but now on my xmas list
    2) then a lovely walk in a dry and sunny glasgow!
    3) then she realised she'd left her puter in the restaurant  so quick walk back and it was safe behind the counter :T
    4) she was in work this morning and i felt more energised than i have for yonks and did lots of cleaning :j
    5) we got a seat together on the train which was good cos it was a very full train. Now waiting for her in starbucks with free wifi hence early posting.
